1 run. 1 stinking run for the series.
There’s no way you can be surprised with these results…when the absolute ceiling & corresponding $ investment Twins ownership shoots for…is a Division Title & few Home playoff games. Tough to beat teams like the Yankees whose owners set the bar significantly higher than Twins ownership does. It’s been happening (this way) vs real contenders for going on 4 decades!1 run. 1 stinking run for the series.
Per Aaron Gleeman on Tweeter Machine:
#MNTwins are now 44-120 (.268) vs. the Yankees since 2002. Twins' winning percentage is .514 vs. all other teams since 2002. All three Twins managers in that time have sub-.300 winning percentages vs. the Yankees. .273 — Rocco Baldelli .269 — Ron Gardenhire .259 — Paul Molitor

I'd be curious their WIN% vs NYY, BOS and TB during that time frame. They've probably held their vs. TOR and BAL.
I think they all need to see therapists regarding their games against the Yankees. It’s all in their heads at this point.
The Twins won the season series against the Yankees last year.
Finally get to watch the Twins on Apple tonight. Tie game and the ump bails out Cleveland with a strike call 6 inches off the plate in the 8th. Duran comes in to pitch the bottom. Two straight pitches in the zone that are called balls. Ramirez HR. Top of the 9th Correa strikes out on a pitch that was another 6 inches low. I’d like a better result when I get to watch. Oh well.
5 L’s in a row incoming.
Twins had a nice rally in the 9th but came up a little short.
Does this mean they threw out the rotten tube of meat? 😂

Don't try to bring facts into this Yankees despair 😉
Twins went on a crazy win streak early this month and now are on a brutal stretch of baseball.
Everyone in the lineup has basically gone ice cold at the exact same time.
The Twins bats weren't cold tonight winning 10-0. They hit four home runs two by Buxton and one each from Miranda & Castro. Joe Ryan threw 7 shut out innings giving up only 3 hits.
Kirilloff heating up. Hope it continues!
This team is streaky as hell.
The Twins have won the first two games of a 4 game series against KC. The Twins have won 6 of their last 7 games. They are 4-1 against the Royals this season while Kansas City is 33-18 against everybody else.
The Twins finish the first 1/3 of the season 30-24 which is a 90 win pace. I don't expect the Twins to end up winning 90 games this season but having 30 wins at this point in the season is definitely a successful first two months. The season started on March 28th.
Royce Lewis their best player has missed the first two months on the season getting hurt 3 innings into the season opening game. He has played 3 rehab games for the AAA St. Paul Saints over the last 4 days. The Saints were off on Monday. Unless he has a set back I would expect him to be playing for the Twins within the next few days.
The interesting move is going to be who goes down when Lewis comes back. Miranda's bat certainly has been worthy of keeping up with the Twins. Miranda was not very good defensively at 1B when he played there but with Santana's bat being so inconsistent it seems the best fit to slide him across the diamond. But they'd still need to send someone down or DFA somebody unless somebody else gets hurt in the next couple days.
The Twins beat Houston this afternoon to win their 4th series in a row and 10 of their last 12 series.
They've won 9 of their last 12 games and 26 of their last 39 games.

But just can’t seem to make up any ground on Cleveland, who is rolling.
Reminds me of those years where the Wild go on a second half heater, but lose the division to Colorado because they did too.
At some point the guards gotta play somebody they have had a cake for a schedule and taking advantage of it. Their sweep against the twins puts a bad taste in my mouth but it’s early June and a lot of head to heads yet. Those series’ show a lot more of where they’re at with each other imo.
Twins sent down Eddie Julien to make room for Royce Lewis. Tough to see Julien get sent down but he had a rough month and still had options. My guess is if he goes down and tears it up, they may end up DFA-ing Farmer or Margot who have both struggled mightily this season (Margot at least has seemed to figure it out lately against LHP which is ultimately why they brought him in, but his overall numbers are still pretty poor). Farmer on the other hand has been flat out bad at the plate and his positional flexibility will only get him so far when Miranda and Lewis can both play 3B, Lewis can also play SS and apparently they're going to give him a shot at 2B now as well.
The biggest reason, IMO, for them sending Julien down instead of DFA-ing Farmer right now is because they want to keep the young guys like him getting in games consistently, whereas if Farmer only plays 1 or 2 times a week they're not as worried about it.
Twins on TBS tonight (I have Comcast) so haven’t watched much Twins in 24. Almost had forgotten how Excruciating it is watching Bailey Ober pitch. He’s AWFUL, never challenges hitters & as a result, walks his share. Built like Tarzan, pitches like Jane.
And the Yankmees score first and often...
And Rocco leaves Theilbar in for 1 too many batters ….
Royce Lewis hit a home run in his first game back with the Twins. He was walked in his other two plate appearances.
In 72 regular season games he is hitting .313 with a .933 OPS (just over .700 is average), 19 home runs, and 59 RBIs.
In 6 post season games he has 4 home runs.
He turns 25 years old tomorrow.
His progress to the majors was greatly affected by there being no minor league baseball in 2020 (Covid) and then twice (2021 & 2022) tearing the ACL in his right knee.
Has over come a lot to get where he is at. I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Correa is so good defensively but c’mon dude 4K….????

Off to another ripping start tonight. Down 4-0 after 3 innings (were actually down 4-0 after the first inning). No runs, no hits and 6 K's thru 3 innings; 9 up and 9 down. Incredible.
Not the reason we’re losing, but this ump’s strike zone has an interesting shape.
Aaaaaaand time to change the channel. I won’t bother tomorrow.
Royce Lewis just hit a home run to lead off the 7th inning. He has played 3 games this season for the Twins and has a home run in each game.
That is now 7 home runs in his last 9 games for the Twins (playoffs and regular season).
New Vegas betting prop: Over/under on Lewis home run(s) tomorrow set at 0.5
The smart money is on the over. 😉
I ❤️ me some Royce Lewis…but he needs to stay healthy & get off the Byron Buxton boxcar…immediately!Royce Lewis just hit a home run to lead off the 7th inning. He has played 3 games this season for the Twins and has a home run in each game.

The Twins need to do more to make his his tenure with the club be a part of something.

I may not have heard this stat correctly, but heard it on the radio on my home from work: the Yankees have swept a season series of at least six games against an opponent 8 times in history. 4 have been against the Twins.
That is at least until this game is over….then it becomes 5/9. 🤦♀️
Which makes us > .500…..or something like that.
And their first regular season sweep of us since 2009. Who’d have thunk it had been that long. 🤷♀️
Just pencil in 6/7 Ls before the games are played and save everyone the trouble. How freaking embarrassing.
How many will they lose in this streak?
I was in and out catching the game today so figuring at 4-4 in the 9th Pitt would walk it off I bailed on the game, twins open up a can in the 10th getting 7 win 11-5. Whatever works 😁
This Twins season...weekend series for runs, 0, 0, 11, lol

Great example why statistics can be misleading. 11 runs in 3 games seems like decent production…but in this case it’s putrid. ☝️This Twins season...weekend series for runs, 0, 0, 11, lol
The city connect uniforms are, um, interesting.

For reference.
I think I like the hats? I am not so sure about the rest of the uni
Those are brutal and color scheme is just wrong. Way to Brewers' for me. They look like a bowling team.

I expect these to be weird, even though there isn’t a requirement for them to be. My only real gripe is the yellow. Looks very Brewers/old Mariners.
Then again their normal scheme of red, white, and dark blue isn’t exactly original, either.
I am usually a curmudgeon on these kind of things, but I kind of like these.
