I really hate this guy on second in extras nonsense.
lol what complete horseshit.
Man Rocco was hot after that call
Rightfully so. It's an absolutely terrible call and a ridiculously stupid rule to even have in the rulebook. I get wanting to protect catchers from being run over. That's fine. Then just say the MLB runners have to avoid contact on a play at the plate like every association in the country they play in while they are growing up. If they get run over, automatic ejection and suspension. Problem solved.
Youth baseball and high school baseball have an "avoid contact" rule. Basically runners have to slide or try to jump/run around the catcher. Don't put a rule in the rulebook that makes it so the catcher can't do the same thing at the plate that the 2nd and 3rd baseman can do at their base. It's stupid as hell.
If you look at the video, the runner's leg was not on a path to the plate The runner aimed his leg at the catcher (to take advantage of the rule). Smart play, I give him credit there, but it was absolutely a wrong call from NY. Horrible call.

Ryan throwing batting practice again tonight.
Leading the division likely ending soon.

Playing a team built for a World Series ain’t easy.
If they blown away, I guess that will tell them how far they have to go. That’s not much of silver lining.
32-5 or something, for their recent streak? That's insane.

That overtime was poopy.
Why does Nick Gordon think he's a power hitter all of the sudden?
Is Buxton hurt or are we babying him so he doesn’t get hurt?
Are the HR enough to make up for the low BA? I know he made the All Star game but I was hoping for more than a 0.230 BA as essentially a DH.
One of his knees is hurt. They mentioned after he beat out a double play that because of it he takes at least another 90 feet to decelerate.
Arraez looking good again, Thielbar's run continues. Hope they can keep it up because while I think Cleveland will fall back again, the White Sox seem to be figuring things out.

Buxton’s Line is .291/.371/.600 since June 1st. His knee issue from early in the season doesn’t seem like it will be taken care of until after the season, so if he’s hurt that’s pretty amazing.

His knee has been bothering him for a couple months, so they're DHing him more to try to give it as much rest as they can while still keeping his bat in the lineup.
As far as his performance: Only one "full time" DH has a higher OPS than he does in the majors right now (Yordan Alvarez). Only 3 teams have a higher OPS out of the DH spot than Buxton this year (the Astros, as mentioned with Yordan Alvarez, the Angels (almost exclusively Shohei Ohtani) and the Phillies (largely Bryce Harper).
Here we go again. Hopefully something minor.
Edit-- They said later in the game he left with right shoulder fatigue.

Nothing like three games with the Royals to kick start a win streak.

The Royals scored 2 runs in the first inning of the series.
They scored 0 over the last 26 innings of the series.
Nice job by the pitching staff.

And people wonder why strikeouts are up (or blame "launch angle swings")
Twins changed their minds, and put Mahle on IL

Gross. There are way too many automatic outs in this lineup.
Ugh
It's time to shut Buxton down for the season and challenge the rest of these scrubs to make it work without him.

Twins make it 2-4 in ninth. If I was smart I would of gone to bed 30 min ago, so I deserve a miracle come back win right? right?
Cave & Kepler are worthless at the plate! They should both be released or sent to St. Paul! They can’t be counted on at all to get a hit. Kepler has regressed badly at the plate! Too many holes in this lineup!
The Twins will be under .500 by Labor day.
The Twins formula:
Just be good enough to get hopes up, and maybe once in a while we'll win something substantial in the post-season. I mean, throw enough sh* at the wall, it'll stick at some point, right?

Killing it.
Their season…..right?
Well at least the Twins were relevant up to the Fair. Time to move on to PJ Fleck's crew. Row the Boat!
In honor of their 20th anniversary, you can watch any MLB game live on the MLB app tonight. Except for the Twins if you live in Minnesota. Ha ha
Which is a shame if you don’t have tv availability, as Jobu came through tonight.
Twins come back and win scoring two to tie in the ninth and a walk off….walk to win in ten. Bunted to get the automatic runner on second to third, a walk, an intentional walk, then another unintentional walk on four pitches. A win’s a win!
Is it really "off-speed" when it reaches 100? ? ?
I can’t find video but when they were interviewing Bundy I think it was after the game he mentioned that and said something like “he should get a cake” in regards to the accomplishment.
update - according to tonight’s broadcast he actually got him a cake. ?

Archer will never see a sixth inning. So it is written, so it shall be.
Nick “possible Twins MVP” Gordon!

Yeah, this comment aged poorly. I feel shame.
