The more I think back on the game...SC was rope-a-doping IA. IA came out on FIRE, and SC was thinking, just play our game, we'll eventually nickel-and-dime them to death. And that happened. SC was a deeper team (I was told that the previous IA game, they only played 6 players). Can't do that with a team that avg'd 30+ bench points per game and ranked #1 defense for the season.

I was rooting for South Carolina 100% because I hate Iowa. It is not like me to root for an undefeated team. But I cannot root for Iowa to win a title. I can relish in them feeling some heartbreak though.
I honestly didn't care who won.

Yes. Geno never made a call or recruit visit. Notre Dame was on her list as well since her family is devout Catholic. She made the choice to stay close to home though.

The better team won for sure. Staley has a complete team from starters to role players and that is what doomed Iowa. It is impressive that Iowa made a game of it at times but SC had control once they got it. Rebounds and bench points tell the story of the game for sure.

So many good players for UConn, they just come in waves making plays. Edey was gonna have to have the game of his life and he’s been the opposite since the first third of the game.
