Rogers looked like they were out of energy. Edina was able to ice the puck and still beat Rogers to it. It seemed inevitable toward the end barring a miracle. I was just hoping Edina would overcommit and give up a breakaway. But then again, they would have just caught the Rogers player.

Over the years hearing school songs, I would say the Notre Dame Victory March and On Wisconsin are the to 2 most popular. And Hail to the Victors is a top 10, probably top 5. I hear Ohio State much at, until tonight.
My high school was the Washington State fight song and I’ve never heard anybody besides WSU and my high school my it.

Semifinal Friday is going to play out well for AA... You have a metro school playing a private school. And a northern school playing Edina. It should be a great and fun night for both the players and fans.

At the 'X' you pretty much get the live view from where you sit and maybe one replay. Not multiple vies and the color cometary from the tv announcers. I'll still stick to my opinion and 2 minutes.

I’m 99.9% positive it’s Edina faulty. I sit in 106 and they were talking, participating with the student body. And had Edina gear on under the safety green coats.

Rogers HC failing to call a timeout with 2:37 to go having a 2 minute PP with two Mr HOCKEY finalists was a grave error. You call the time out & settle everyone down & plot out your strategy. Calling it with 30+ seconds left on the power play was too late. That was their chance, after Edina player took an ill advised, obvious penalty! You knew if it went to OT Hornet experience in big games would eventually prevail & it might be a 2nd or 3rd line forward or D with the game winner. That’s exactly what happened, no surprise.
You need to KNOCK OUT the champs, hoping to outlast them is counterproductive & almost always fails. You knew when it went to OT 90% chance green was winning.
Disagree on both - that Edina is deeper (Rogers has more players with 10-plus goals (4 v 6) and more with 20-plus points (6 v 9) and I thought both Edina goals were soft.
Rogers looked like they played the latter half of the 3rd and OT trying not to lose and Edina finally capitalized.
Edina plays a defense first structure and they were rolling their lines most of the night and it wore down Rogers big guys. When I’m saying deeper, I’m meaning with ability to roll more lines more frequently. From about mid second on they looked much faster and fresher the whole rest of the way. Agree with others that they should’ve called time out to start the pp and be fresh and organized.
Rogers goalie made a bunch of great saves and that last goal is a great shot in high school hockey pulling it around a defender. Way too harsh to say it’s soft

Moorhead and LS was one of those games for me that was actually mentally/physically draining and so I fell asleep around the 3rd period of the last game. Maybe a few less barley pops for me tonight so I stay fresh.😂

Two Jrs that piqued my interest last night, D #4 for Moorhead and W #8 (who ended up getting the GWG) for Edina. Both really controlled the game when they were on the ice.
Interesting to see where they end up....and they may have verballed for all I know.

Coaches, players, and announcers all talk about it is important to not give up a goal in the first or last minute of a period.
Hibbing today gave up two goals in the last two minutes of the second period (including a goal with one second left in the period) and two goals in the first minute of the third period. They went from 5-2 up to 6-5 down in less than three minutes of game time. Ouch

Hoping for a Stillwater-Moorhead title game tomorrow night, but 57 years of watching Edina at the State Tournament has taught me that you bet against them at your peril.
I like Stillwater but it’s hard not to root for Moorhead to finally get one after 21 attempts.
