Here is the high school hockey schedule on Kare11 Plus
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

Mike Randolph became the all time winningest coach.

This schedule is crazy…
Keep your stick on the ice...
@gator 12 AA teams, 12 A teams & 1 vs Superior. BONUS - a quasi-guaranteed trip to single a state every year, with that schedule, the frauds will NEVER move up to AA. Makes me lmao the way they used to wine about STA playing single a after losing to them at state…STA administrators finally had the stones to move up to AA and though they’ve never won a AA State Title, they’ve earned respect. As time has went on, Mike Randolph while HC at Duluth East refusing to schedule Hermantown (while they remained single a) has aged even better. Apologies for the rant, but growing up in the Twin Ports, this really sticks in my craw!
I totally agree with your “rant”. I was just posting the schedule. It might be the toughest sch. in the state. The AA schools are all pretty much State Tourney contenders and several A powers.
Though your rant is 110% correct. Their egos of making it to State every year, getting a layup in quarterfinals and being at the ‘X’ for both Friday and Saturday games.
Keep your stick on the ice...
They have nowhere close to the toughest schedule in the state.

And it starts way before this. Their association fields PWAA and BAA teams, plays AA high school all season then drops down to class A section tournament. Minnesota Hockey, MSHSL don't seem interested in doing anything.
I know all about Hermantown’s scam…

Provide some schedules…
Look at the schedules of the top AA teams and it's not even close. Edina, Wayzata, Tonka etc play 99% AA schedules with nary a cupcake.
This hasn't been updated yet for this season, but last season Hermantown's SOS ranked 18th: https://www.leepagen.com/strength.htm
This season for instance Tonka plays:
Stillwater, Andover, Rosemount, Chanhassen, Moorhead, Prior Lake, Chaska, SLP, Shakopee, Wayzata, Rogers, Lakeville South, Hill Murray, Mahtomedi, Buffalo, Duluth East, STMA, Edina, WBL, EP.
Hermantown's schedule doesn't come close to that. I am sure the other top AA teams have similarly difficult schedules.
You are comparing the end of the regular season sos last year to the start of the regular season sos this year.

And? You think Hermantown's SOS magically improved over what they've done traditionally? They do play many top AA teams, but their A schedule brings their overall down and it's not even up for debate.
Agree to this agree… though half their A schedule would hold their own in AA.
Keep your stick on the ice...
My only point of contention was this: "It might be the toughest sch. in the state."
it's not. But they do probably have the toughest SOS for all A teams.
@slap-shot is correct, others have way tougher schedules than Hermantown
And I'll agree to disagree... 😉
I said it might be the toughest sch. You don't know until that end of the season. I could've said one of the toughest. Though I'm sure @slap-shot would've had an issue with that.

@Gator, as a huge Hermantown fan, you should probably watch it if you haven’t already. 😉
LoL... Thanks for the Thanksgiving chuckle!!!
While Hermantown has all the right to play A. It's how they go about it. And like other's have stated, they whined about STA and they are doing the same thing. The only positive about them in A... it gives you a villain to cheer against. And adds to the thrill of Friday afternoon semi's.

I wouldn't have thought twice if you properly phrased it that way. 😀
btw disagreement isn't "an issue". I simply pointed out they don't have the toughest schedule.
The ones getting cheated are the Hermantown players. They’ve had good enough teams to make AA State & arguably win AA state for the past 15+years & experience playing in front of 19,000 fans. Instead they play in a class that rarely fills the lower bowl at Xcel. Just because you technically qualify to play in a class doesn’t mean it’s best for the school. It’s not on the Hermantown players, it’s clearly on the school administrators & partially on the coaches. When NHL players Dad’s (like Pionk) argue against remaining in class a, it tells us all we need to know.@Gator, as a huge Hermantown fan, you should probably watch it if you haven’t already. 😉

I know this was not in Minnesota but sad hockey news

Aloha!
The game was a charity event for another student who had died in a car crash, too.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
