B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

They don't start streaming the girls tourney until Friday's semi finals.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Ah well that explains it.
I don’t think your link has anything until tomorrow. You can try HERE, Set up an account and watch today’s games for free.

I’m pretty sure it’s been that way for several years.

Makes Wednesday feel like play-in day.
So bored without Gophers hockey this weekend. But Tonka and EP hockey is not a bad option. Tough tough bracket and this is only semi final to get to the state tourney.
Warroad gets the 3 peat.
Edina scores with 12 seconds left in the 3rd to win 2-1 vs. BSM.

Two state championship level games
Took in the Chanhassen and Shakopee game tonight. Very fun game. Chan had a better first, but Shakopee settled in and it was even throughout. Chan’s team is mostly seniors and it’ll be interesting to see how they hold up against Tonka. Shakopee had very few seniors and could be very dangerous next year if they keep everyone together.
Chan lost an early season game to Tonka in OT and will want revenge for losing in the section final last season also in OT. Tonka better bring their A game.
The Tonka girls need to consider moving on from Tracy Cassano. I think this makes 6 straight state appearances in which they came in as if not the overwhelming favorite one of the favorites, and had several wins they eked out closely or lost outright when playing very underwhelming hockey.
I forget the name of the previous girls coach (Mark Johnson?) but he won 3 straight titles with a either a similar talent pool or in some years teams that weren't as stacked as those under Cassano.
Warroad gets the 3 peat.
Kind of hard to be proud of an A championship with so many move-ins? It was fun to listen on Hockey Day. I'm not sure if the play by play guy knew what he was doing but he called them out like it was just part of his job.

Did STA just set a state record for most icings in a game?
Didn’t watch the game. I assume they were instructed to ice the puck every time they were in danger in the 3rd?
Seemed to be about every time they touched the puck in the 3rd. They did carry the play for a stretch of time in the second half of the first period. Other than that they seemed pretty content just firing it down the ice anytime they got possession in their zone.

The issue isn't the students & team communities wanting to attend the games, that's actually great...the issue is venues too small for the given events! Now that they’ve fixed the ice sheet configuration at Mariucci, it's an absolute shame they don't play the games there (anymore)Wayzata said the samething about their gameAnd here is the the 2AA:According to the MSHSL website here is what I found:If anyone knows or finds out when the tickets go on sale for Thursdays Chan vs Tonka matchup, please post it when available.

Correct. Ridder also offers an option if you do a single game final, holds about 1000 more than Braemar and it is an A+ venue.
But don't expect much from a bunch of administrators. Not exactly a think on your feet type of group.
Must come from the same tree as the U's athletic and marketing departments.

@vegoe or anyone,
Why is the Hill/WBL section championship always the last for AA. Some sections even have their championship done before their semi's.
Keep your stick on the ice...
What are some of people's memories of the biggest section upsets? And not just because a high seed got beat but where the team was a legit contender to win State.
2000: There were two this year. A mediocre Edina squad beat Eden Prairie at Mariucci in the Finals. EP was loaded, Colin Peters, Garrett Smaagaard, Mike Erickson. If memory services me correctly Edina tied the game in the final seconds off of a face off. And then won in OT. EP had one loss headed into this game.
Osseo over Elk River (one loss). Elk River was #1 in the State, loaded with Paul Martin. Lost a shocker in the Semis to #4 seed Osseo. Osseo opened up the door for Blaine who was also very good to not only get to State but win the tournament. ER would go on to win State in 2001.
2001: #4 Seed Eastview over #2 in State Bloomington Jefferson, semi. Eastview would go onto beat Apple Valley at Mariucci to go to State. This was the first year at the X. There were no State seedings yet at this time. The anticipation was Elk River playing Jefferson in the first ever State game at the X, #1 vs #2 in the State and Saterdalen's last team that could have won it all.
2006 & 2007: Holy Angels. This is when Holy Angels was still loaded and these teams were State favorites. The 06' team had one loss and lost to Apple Valley in the Semis. AV would open the door for Eagan to go to State. The 07' team may have been undefeated if I remember right. They lost to Burnsville in the Section Finals.
If Chan could beat Minnetonka it would have to be right up there.
While it would be an upset, I do not think it rises to the level of those others you listed. Minnetonka likely wins a 7-game series against anyone in the state but Chanhassen probably one of the few teams who can skate with them, as evidenced by the OT game earlier this year.
@bluebandit24 Yes, while the delta between Chan & Tonka isn't as great as previous upset pairings, Chan is no where near Tonka's level. This Tonka team could be one of the best ever, certainly right up there. They are undefeated, there might be 1-2 examples of an undefeated team going down in sections and I am not even 100% sure about that?
Tonka is probably going to outshoot them 2-1.
Also, Chan has the 20th most difficult schedule in the State to Tonka's 3rd. Chan is probably pushing 8-10 losses if they played that schedule.
2001-2002: Apple Valley only had one regular loss all season, ranked #1 pretty much all season and went into the Section Finals and lost to the eventual State Champion, Holy Angels.
