So we just have to take care of our own and hope that Michigan lays an egg and loses to Ohio State.
Yeah they ditched the "who has the longest drought" a long time ago. The Rose Bowl decides based on the tiers.
The Rose Bowl does still have a small clause in there that they can pick due to other reasons--they are not REQUIRED to take the top CFP ranked team if they aren't the Big Ten Champion. Basically the only way we could potentially sneak in in the win out situation would be if Michigan wins out and ends up in the playoff and it's between us and Ohio State as OSU was there last year and 4 times in the last 10ish years. If it comes down to us and Michigan the Wolverines are going.
It all comes down to us doing what we can control.
Exactly.
Just. Win. Baby!

Not bad for the worst player on the offense
This should be an interesting game for the Gophers this weekend. Purdue is a passing team. The QB O'Connell is 86/134 for 1000 yards passing in just 3 games. Compare that to Tanner Morgan who has only attempted 79 passes in 4 games. Can the Gopher defense hold up to the passing attack? Can the offense control the clock to keep Purdue off the field?
O'Connell was hurt for the last game and we don't know if he is expected back for the game this weekend.
Like to see some stiffer play for the Gopher with it being vs. Purdue or @ Illinois. My heart says I would love to see blowouts in both game. Though my brain says at least one or both games go into the 4th quarter being close. Would not want the Gophers going into Happy Valley being 6-0 and all 6 wins were by blowouts.
Keep your stick on the ice...

Even if O'Connell plays he is dealing with a rib injury it is going to be difficult for him. What's worse is they cannot run the ball (or they refuse to put in any real effort to do so) so it could be a nightmare for him. And before someone says "why run when you pass so well" they literally lost the Penn State Game because they threw the ball at the end instead of running which killed the clock and allowed PSU to get the ball back with time enough to score and win. Plus their defense is not very good.
Honestly, even if the Gophers were underwhelming right now I would pick them to win this game. Purdue just doesn't match up well with us. We have won 8 of the last 9 against them including the last 4. Brohm reminds me a bit of Jim Wacker...its all about scoring as much as you can as fast as you can and hope to win 36-33 or something. They dont have the corners to cover decent receivers in single coverage so if they choose to sell out to stop Mo Tanner will have another day like he did when they tried that in 2019. (21-22 for 396 yards and 4 TDs...yes that is the real stat line)

I remember that game. Purdue corners had NO chance to stop the receivers.
ESPN has the Gophers with the 7th best odds of making the CFP:
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Will always be my favorite....

Solid Maroon is my 2nd choice, yes.

Gophers are getting s lot of attention right now. Hopefully like PJ talked about their internal message is louder than the externals.
Sounds like some sort of Gopher Hockey presence around 10:15 as well.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Ouch

Well, now would be a good time to not do what we have been doing this game
Safe to safe this game is going to be a real test. Def not the start we were looking for.
Not a good start to say the least. They've never trailed in a game until this one so now they're being tested.
Really don't know what Fleck is thinking sometimes.
Ok. Now we are being dumb shits by running it up the middle with the back up QB on 4th and 1 at our OWN 30….from the GD shotgun.
Not hitting on all cylinders so far.
Crap, I type and then a huge pass. You are all welcome.
Oh. It’s going to be one of those games. Neat.
Well this game keeps getting worse. The Missesota kick returns. ?♀️
at least the fans did a good job with the stripes.
Time to make some effing adjustments on offense. That 3rd and goal was brutal.
No Mo so far.
Every rush attempt so far has looked like a failure before the ball is handed off.
Purdue’s D line is really good. We need to get passing going to help open it up. Their secondary is suspect.
I think we can out stamina them.
Offense is pretty embarrassing. Defense is going to get tired.
That had to be the 20th time this game the announcers said no Mo
What is the point of review if you’re going to be dead wrong regardless?
Can anything go right for us? Damn.
Can we try a screen or draw on 1st down instead of SLOWLY starting rushes up the middle for 1 yard!
Brutal drop....ugh.

Fleck is going to earn his pay at halftime
Oh for $-&@! sakes,
Ok, I'm better now
Wait wait wait hold on are six yard runs allowed?
If MN comes back to win this game methinks the turning point may be MN going for 4th down. Fleck basically challenged the D with the decision and they have been better since. Now if he can find a way to spark the O.
