Sacred Heart trip is a homecoming for Morrow and Jordan, and a look at the 2028 Frozen Four site. I'm sure I'll be at both games and probably one of the BU games too.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
The summer collegiate CELLY LEAGUE has started up this week. With a quick scan of the rosters, it looks like six Gophers are onboard.
Lake Cowboy: Maddy Kaiser and incoming freshmen Layla Hemp and Bella Fanale
Tradition Mortgage: Carly Humphrey, Mankato transfer Jamie Nelson and incoming freshman Sydney Bailey
Took in a Celly League game. A few incoming Gophers played and had their gloves and helmets so I could see what numbers a couple of players will have. Bella Fanale will be wearing #97 and Jamie Nelson will be #10. Sydney Bailey was also playing, but I never got a good look at the back of her helmet.

When I became a fan of Gopher women's hockey over a decade ago I never thought they'd have two players from (very different parts of) the state I live in. A lot of people play hockey here, but it isn't exactly baked into the culture, especially since the Whalers left.
If I weren't already a fan, Morrow and Jordan being on the team would make me one.
And now a story on Princeton transfer Sarah Paul

Nice to have it confirmed she has two years of eligibility. Sounds as of now that she'll use it.
Adding to the incoming players' numbers:
Kortan #3
D'Alessandro #14
Murphy, Nelson, Kaiser, Lindsay, Fanale, Morrow, Jordan, Layla Hemp will be at the US National Festival with a crack at making the U22 team for the Collegiate Series.
Canada will have D'Alessandro, Paul, and Clark on their side for this series in mid-August. Primerano will not participate because Canada does not include their senior team players in these events.
Last few numbers: Jordan #6, Hovland #12, Paul #19, Plosova #22
Roster is up. https://gophersports.com/sports/womens-ice-hockey/roster
New title for assistant coach Jess Scott as she becomes the first GM in women's college hockey history.
Also a new director of operations, Ryan Kearney, who previously was at Colgate and is currently helping out at the US National Festival.

A few of us that played on the "Rubes" adult hockey team up at the Superrink 15 years ago know Jess well. She was on a team called the "Mudhens" that we played against many times. She was one of their better players and was dating a guy on that team that really had no business playing in the "D" league. But she was pretty aggressive out there and wasn't afraid to mix it up with the guys.

Seven, count them, seven Gophers on the US collegiate select team. (No Murphy as this time around USA Hockey is electing to keep senior national teamers separate from the select team).

“Key Takeaways From Canada and USA’s Collegiate Summer Series”
Sarah Paul Is A Rising Star, Will Benefit From Time In Minnesota
Few, if any, flashed the offensive flare of Canada's Sarah Paul in this series. Paul is an offensively gifted prospect who despite the fact she's already attended Princeton for four years, still has two seasons of NCAA eligibility remaining, one of which she'll spend at the University of Minnesota this season. Paul has excellent puck skills and a hard and deceptive shot that she unleashes often. She's a shoot first player who has top six potential. Where Paul is going to benefit from by utilizing those two years of eligibility, even though she could declare following this season, is to work on getting that shot off with less time and space that will come in the PWHL, and to fine tune the defensive side to her game. Sometimes Paul did too much with the puck, particularly in positions near her own blueline where there was considerable defensive risk. Facing regular strong competition in the WCHA, Paul should find a portion of that defensive awareness and maturity to go along with the overtly evident skill set she possesses on the attack.
