I’m hearing the Lizi Norton transfer rumor is a pretty safe bet.
Hall of Fame game added to the schedule. At the rink in Andover.
Gophers women's roster posted:

Look for some heated battles in practice, especially at forward, for playing time once the games begin.
Interesting to Liz Norton in that roster yet though sounds like she has confirmed in her Instagram.

My Guess is that's a little to do with getting NCAA Clearance. When it comes to joining teams (transferring) the NCAA takes there time. My guess is that the U is waiting till the paperwork goes through to put her on the roster.
Welp. Just needed to wait 18 hours.
Happened to see this on the 10pm news last night. Thank God Makayla wasn't injured, or worse. Any further reports as to whether or not they caught and arrested any of those responsible?
Not Gopher hockey but……..
RICHFIELD, Minn. — The Minnesota Whitecaps have announced their new home rink. The team will now play their home games at Richfield Ice Arena instead of at TRIA Rink in St. Paul.
The arena previously hosted the Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League, but that team has relocated to Wisconsin for the upcoming season.
The Whitecaps, a member of the Premier Hockey Federation, made the move so that the team can have their own locker room and their own spaces.
Capacity in TRIA Rink is currently 1,200, while Richfield Ice Arena can hold up to 1,800 people.
The Richfield City Council unanimously approved the move Tuesday night.

My Swedish is a little rusty, but pretty sure new Gopher Josefin Bouveng will be playing in the upcoming Women’s World Championships (August 25 through September 4 in Denmark). The U.S. National Festival winds up tomorrow, so the U.S. roster should be out soon. Another new Gopher, Nelli Laitinen is a shoo-in to be playing for Finland also.
Nice feature on Maddie and Wyatt Kaiser

Also the roster for the U22 three game series with Canada. Games are this coming Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. live streamed on the Hockey Canada site.
Not encouraging Pahl couldn't win one of the U22 spots. Going to be interesting to see what Frost does early in the season in goal.
Nice feature on Maddie and Wyatt Kaiser
Wyatt & Maddie Kaiser are @usahockey legacies and their connection to the game is a special one.
Now, after watching his younger sister win silver at U18 Women's Worlds in June, Wyatt has a chance to take home a medal of his own.@wyatt_kaiser5 | @jonmorosi | #WorldJuniors pic.twitter.com/dPamKgDmX7— NHL Network (@NHLNetwork) August 13, 2022
I played hockey in high school with their uncle about a thousand years ago.
“Women’s Worlds rosters taking shape”
Plenty of Gopher representation in the upcoming tournament.
Former: Lee Stecklein, Hannah Brandt, Amanda Kessel and Kelly Pannek (U.S.A.); Sarah Potomak (Canada)
Current: Taylor Heise and Grace Zumwinkle (U.S.A.); Nelli Laitinen (Finland); Josefin Bouveng (Sweden)
Future: Emma Kreisz (Hungary)
It will be interesting to see who Frosty pairs Bouveng with to start the season. Last year's top line (Heise, Boreen and Skaja) had such great chemistry together you would think he'll just go with what has obviously worked. Then you have some combination of G. Zumwinkle, Murphy, Hemp and Bouveng (and quite possibly one or two others) to choose from to form a "2nd line"... wow, so much talent up front! The competition to secure those top six forward spots (and the top power play unit) is sure to be intense.

Edit: Canada beats the U.S. in a pre-tournament game
Gophers are the only WCHA team who have not released their Out Of Conference schedule.

I’ve talked my wife into spending Thanksgiving in Vegas. She’s not a hockey fan, but not surprisingly it was an easy sell

USA was down 2-0 and comes back to beat Canada 5-2. Pannek with a goal. USA wins group A.

Pardon my ignorance, but how his this roster different from the one that iirc got smoked by Canada not that long ago?

Not sure what you mean. I think the last USA v Canada Women's game was the Olympic semi-final that the women lost 3-2, that's a completely different team, this is the U-20 roster.
The Olympic team did lose 5-1 in a prelim game to Canada, though.
EDIT: As frozen4champs points out, this is NOT the U-20 team, so it does have a lot of overlap with the Olympic team.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

Easy to get confused since there has been a ton of tournaments played so closely because of covid. This is the IIHF Women's World tourney. It is similar to the mens one that is played after the NHL regular season, but around the same time as the Stanley Cup playoffs. This team has a lot of the same names as the Olympics, with more college players on it.

I think the recent one you are referring to might be the three game U18 series that Canada swept pretty handily. We discussed that one in the recruiting section mostly.
Yes that is the one I had in mind.
Yes that is the one I had in mind.
The actual World Championships for that age group (2005 birth years and younger) will be in early January in Sweden. It will be interesting to see how different the roster will look from the series in Calgary.
From the pictures it looks like Natalie was the coach at the fair today. Did she have anything cool to say?
I would have liked to have heard her.

Now he's no longer listed on the Gopher roster.

It’s a done deal. Probably should have made that clear
