Dirty as $h!t play. Dress Michel when we’re in South Bend just to go for that guys chin.

Tyler Carpenter is a 24 year old senior too, should know better. It’s an exhibition game against high school kids that Notre Dame were currently winning and he makes that hit. Pathetic

That would be 5 games in the nhl. Absolutely no place for that in the game and especially not an exhibition. What a douche

I've always felt college teams are supposed to help Team USA get prepared for international competition, not send them to the hospital.

That was one of the worst hits I've seen against an immature player. Good god that Notre Dame kid has a ten-cent head. The USA team should be outraged by that.

If you intentionally injure another player you should have to sit out as long as they do…

That’s horse shit. Totally unnecessary hit in a completely dangerous situation in an exhibition game. Completely inexcusable.

Yeah, the whole encounter begins with him charging in full speed and then sticking out a knee targeting the opponent’s knee. Even if he didn’t mean to knee him he was looking to go for an egregious hit with a full head of steam. You’re right that it’s pretty pathetic that this guy is doing that in an exhibition game, the USA program should just not schedule ND anymore to send a message. I get that hockey’s an emotional and physical game but that clearly crossed the line especially given the context of the opponent and it being a game that doesn’t count for anything.

I really hope the injury isn’t serious, the alternative is too depressing to think about.

I hope that dirtbag is on the radar of every Gophers player every game this year. I almost never call for retribution but eff that guy.

Maceo Phillips was on the ice for the hit and I’m shocked he didn’t make the ND guy answer the bell. He dropped the gloves a couple times as a 16 year old in USHL games last year. I suppose the penalty for dropping the gloves in an NCAA game is so severe he’s probably told not to do it in NCAA games.

How about when we play them we don’t sink to the level of being dirty and just hurt them by beating the crap out of them on the scoreboard!

It’s been a few days, has there been any news on the severity of the injury to Mooney?

I can't find anything, and apparently the NTDP is fairly tight-lipped when it comes to revealing injury details. Would imagine we would hear if there was a ligament tear but otherwise may be a bit.

Points per game. He is tied with Will Zellers in what is obviously a very small sample.

Kvasnicka scored one against Harvard last night assisted from Phillips. His numbers aren’t anything great so far but no one on that NTDP team is lighting it up, except for Mooney when he was healthy.

Both Kvasnicka’s goals are against NCAA competition: Notre Dame and Harvard.

Chris Peters mentioned on his podcast that it wasn't a serious injury, but he didn't provide a timeline, unless I missed it.

That is great news. Had the look of something which could end his season. Looks like he avoided a ligament tear.

Yeah the bigger issue with major ligament damage is that some players are affected more than just being out a whole. Galchenyuk had to completely change the way he skated for instance.

Glad to hear it doesn’t sound serious, still amazed at that boneheaded play by the ND player.

B- 2nd or 3rd round, C- 4th or 5th, and W- 6th or 7th. Mason Moe B- rated fwiw.

Mason Moe plus the following has the future looking bright. Likely one or two of the 2025 recruits will become 2026 depending on how many current Gophers leave early for the NHL.

Definitely 2025-26. I’m assuming he was going off the lists on elite prospects which for some reason has Mooney at 2026-27.

So if we bring in 6 F and we're not losing 6 (hopefully), are there going be some sent to the portal or carrying a couple more extra forwards this next year? With the portal and more prominently CHL eligibility coming. This list seems like its going to get shaken up. Also I think that's the reason for a quiet recruiting year so far because of the evaluation of current recruits and filling needs. Adding anyone to 2025 is pushing someone out more than likely than back. With all of that said I love the position the program is in.

I would consider only Mooney, Townsend, Moore and Kvasnicka locks to come in next year. Nevers and Reid back to USHL along with Moe (who is a junior - assuming no acceleration).

Lose Nevers, Huglen, Snuggerud, Moore at least...numbers lining up.

I could see Kvas spending a year in the USHL next year. He’s still young and has a relatively slight build. Could be beneficial to spend an extra years of juniors.

@younggopherdiehard2 Possible...especially given he does not profile as a high pick. He did accelerate but maybe did so for more than the purpose or arriving in 2025.

I’m not convinced Moore will be gone after this year. He has some work to do.
