Not sure how much weight I put into www.habsfanatics.com/ but they have a statement in this article ......"Eiserman will play in the NCAA next season for the University of Minnesota."

Seeing as literally no one has ever left the USNTDP early for college I doubt it happens.

The last time was Hanifin/Werenski. I don't think it'll happen. Your draft stock will be just fine starring for the NTDP. Even Jack Hughes didn't do it and he went wire to wire as the #1 pick.
Probably bad reporting, but here is the link to the quote about Eiserman in the NCAA next year.

I hadn’t realized anyone had done it. Interesting. I just assumed since Kane, Eichel, Matthews, Hughes didn’t do it no one did.
For context the USHL Phase 2 draft is notorious for throwing blind darts as to whom may fall in their lap. They like to take bottom 6 NTDP guys. This probably means nothing.
I'm pretty sure he hasn't accelerated his schooling to come in 2023.
You know or you’re guessing? That’s what I thought too but I’ve yet to hear a source either way. I just assume he’s coming in cause he signed his NLI with everyone else.
Educated guess.
Also, have heard that there is no room as well, as all of the senior forwards will be back.
Not sure if that includes Schmidt

You are referring the Hendrickson not coming in? Also, the not being room rumor would imply Schmidt AND Cooley are back by my math.
Essentially swap:
Moore for Knies
Rinzel and Rud for Lacombe, Faber, Johnson, Staudacher. Carl Fish gets more PT.
This adds up if you look at the available portal list. A lot of D, zilch for forwards.

I would be stunned if Schmidt was on the team in the fall.
Probably too optimistic on returning forwards, but with NIL and no news yet I think there is a chance it looks like:
Moore- Cooley- Snuggerud
Pitlick- Huglen- Lamb/Kurth
Nevers- Nelson- Brodzinski
Hendrickson- Mittelstadt- Lamb/Kurth
Extras: Strobel, Pino (if he doesn't transfer), Jimmy Clark (potentially if one of those ahead of him leave)
Koster-Chesley
Thomas-Mittelstadt
Fish- Rinzel
Rud (extra)

Scott Wheeler has Oliver Moore going to the Coyotes ( VIA Ottawa ) with pick a #12 in his mock draft.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

He won’t make it past Washington at #8 if he even makes it there
Corey Pronman has Moore going to the Jets at pick 19.
Moore may end up going higher than I have him projected. I know some team sources who love him, but the sense I’ve gotten is his stock has slid slightly over the second half of the season as someone who is more likely to go 15-20. Winnipeg tends to draft USA players and Moore would provide a dynamic skating element that isn’t overly present in their farm system.

Building off discussion in the Off-Season Thread, does anyone have a read on Hendrickson's status for the fall? Seems to be conflicting information we are working off of.
I have given up trying to figure this out lol, I have no idea either way.
I think it’s a win-win either way. If he does come in that makes Hendrickson-Mittelstadt-Kurth a scoring 4th line. If not then he develops on juniors.

Will he be our 8th defenseman this year or will he come in next year?

Former teammate of Hensler at Hill Murray, maybe he can talk to him and they both could come in next year? But for real it would be interesting if he is coming in this year gophers would have 6 LD if Chesley and Rinzel both make the WJC team.
I would guess this year as the 8th D. Definitely a Matt Denman type pickup. Good locker room guy.

Since no one else has posted it…
I have skated with Axel’s Dad for years in fat, old man hockey and Axel has skated with us several times as a sub. He is a very, very nice kid and comes from a great family!
P.S. I also had Pioneer Landscaping do some work for me last spring…highly recommended!

Seems the D is pretty well set through 2024-2025. Whipple and Yakesh to step in for Koster and Fish next fall. Next commit may be once players are eligible in August.

Still potentially able to add Hensler/Laurila to that group?
I have had it in my mind Hensler goes elsewhere and NW Minnesota recruits are tough to lure, but good options left for sure.

Both will be tough to land for sure but the Gophers are always in on MN kids.

How many have they actually landed the last two decades? I'm not complaining mind you, but there are so many kids that pick UND or UMD from that area I can't recall the Gophers turning that many.
Why aren’t we a frontrunner for Hensler? That surprises me.
@mikeeruzione11 The rumor was the Gophers were in his top three but another Big Ten school has been the favorite for a long while, reportedly Michigan.

We are. Crystal ball rumor mill says UND, Mich, or Minnesota.
@mikeeruzione11 according to someone I know who knows Hensler, Michigan has always been his favorite college team and has wanted to go there for a long time.

Who thought this was a good idea?
Yes. Except your asking players, fans, refs and those watching a stream of the game to follow a small black puck on a blue background? What king of special dumbass thought this was a good idea?@bertogliat Boise State??
