Do you think the Gophers will be the #1 seed in the Fargo region? Trying to plan out a potential trip.
If North Dakota doesn't make the tourney, I think the Gophers are a lock for Fargo. If NoDak DOES make the tourney, then, I'm not as sure.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
The committee doesn't have to match up the #1 overall seed with the lowest seeded team so there is a chance the committee could leave the Gophers in Fargo and have them play North Dakota if the Sue win the NCHC auto bid.
Although, it is more likely the Gophers would play the Atlantic winner in Manchester, New Hampshire and Michigan would play North Dakota in Fargo.
I'd agree that's the more likely scenario, but who knows? We'll have to see what the committee does next Sunday

With the Gophers locked to the 1 seed the only way they don't go to Fargo is if Whioux wins the NCHC. Tickets purchased...either going or ticket value will triple.
The #1 is four teams, realistically. The #16 is the same. The committee can fiddle with those seedings, they do not have to stay with the "true" #1/#16 seeds, etc.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
I think the gophers go to Allentown if UND wins their tourney. It really is much simpler if they lose, though.
gophers / scsu / osu / AH in fargo
q / Harvard / wmu / Alaska in Bridgeport
Du / PSU / MTU / Merrimack in Allentown
Michigan / BU / Mankato / Cornell in Manchester

This was my thought process as well. Selling the tickets wouldn’t be a problem.
I have a hard time believing they would “penalize” the #1 overall seed and put them in Fargo against UND, but I guess we will see.
I bought tickets a month ago and agree that selling them will not be a problem except they only issued hard tickets. There was no option for mobile tickets, so this makes selling them a little more difficult because you will have to physically mail them to the buyer. I haven't had a hard ticket in my hands in years. The NCAA is a decade behind.
I was there in 1976, 1979 and 2002.
Yikes. Just realized that while it's through TicketBa$stard, they don't have resale enabled on these. Thats odd. I had no option but hard tickets. I couldn't believe it because I haven't had a hard ticket in my hand in many years. When did you purchase your tickets?@steve-mn Really weird, I have all my tickets on my TM app. No hard tix.

I take that back, I just looked again and my all-session tix are at will call and I have one mobile ticket on the app that is just for Thursday's session. Bought 2 weeks ago.
Trying to figure Fargo out.
Is there a possibility that neither UND or Gophs are there?

Wonder if that's NCAA mandated?
I assume there's a way to sell Ticketmaster tickets on Stubhub?
In theory? Maybe. Realistically, no. UND is the host, so if they make the tourney, they're guaranteed to be there. Is there a possibility that neither UND or Gophs are there?
If UND isn't there, the Gophers, as either #1 or #2 overall will be sent there as the closest region. (It is possible that both are there, depends on what the committee decides to do if NoDak makes it)
Normally, yes, but I don't think so with these.I assume there's a way to sell Ticketmaster tickets on Stubhub?

did a little research and I think you can sell on StubHub as a "ticket transfer".In theory? Maybe. Realistically, no. UND is the host, so if they make the tourney, they're guaranteed to be there. Is there a possibility that neither UND or Gophs are there?

North Dakota will not beat St Cloud. And even if St Cloud has a poor game I don't see North Dakota beating Denver (probable winner over CC) the next night. Strong possibility the Gophers play Holy Cross or Canisius in Fargo
My preseason Frozen Four picks were Minnesota, Quinnipiac, Denver, and St Cloud. If they send St Cloud to Fargo (likely) that Frozen Four can not occur. Michigan, BU, or Harvard will probably be the 4th team to make it to Tampa. Assuming their are not any major upsets in the Regionals.
PS: I'm a little nervous about possibly playing St Cloud in Fargo. The Gophers are a better team, but its like tonights Michigan game (coin flip)
Is there a junior team or hockey rink in Rochester MN that would work for hosting a regional?

Saint Cloud hasn't looked stellar down the stretch here. I am kinda surprised they won last night playing like they did.

SCSU looked like they were going to end it in regulation. NDSU has been playing well, so that was a hard fought game. It was a toss up in OT, and SCSU was the team with a pretty play to end it.
Clown is good but I don't think they are special.
The same was said about Providence and Yale, however. It's always tough to end another team's season!
Will be interesting to see what the committee does with where things will end up. Could see them putting us out east (Denver staying out west to play Cornell) with the AHA crew, Harvard and OSU or something similar and them keeping cloud with Denver for attendance given STC will have the 6 overall slot
Is Fargo sold out? Am I hearing that correctly?
Fargo, North Dakota
#1 Minnesota vs. #16 Canisius
#6 St. Cloud vs. #11 Mankato
Manchester, New Hampshire
#4 Denver vs. #13 Cornell
#5 Boston University vs. #12 Western Michigan
Bridgeport, Connecticut
#2 Quinnipiac vs. #14 Merrimack
#7 Harvard vs. #9 Ohio State
Allentown, Pennsylvania
#3 Michigan vs. #15 Colgate
#8 Penn State vs. #10 Michigan Tech
#9 Ohio State and #10 Michigan Tech were swapped to avoid a #8 Penn State/#9 Ohio first round conference match up.
#14 Merrimack and #15 Colgate were swapped to avoid a #2 Quinnipiac/#15 Colgate first round conference match up.
Quinnipiac being only 25 miles from Bridgeport is why I put Michigan in Allentown, PA.
St. Cloud/Mankato could be moved to Bridgeport and replaced with Harvard/Ohio State.
There are 7 or 8 eastern teams depending on how you look at Penn State and this has them evenly disturbed to help with attendance.
It seems to me, at first glance, Fargo is the bracket of death.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
If they want to keep the integrity of the bracket in Fargo, they will put Harvard and Ohio State there. It is sold out, so attendance isn't an issue. But it is anyones guess.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

Manchester looks tough, WMU is good

I agree but the committee might prefer to keep Harvard and Ohio State out east.

WMU is good...ish.
Looking at overall make up of the brackets. I guess....
May the odds ever be in your favor. 😉

This Gopher team wants a shot at Mankato. #Revenge
They won’t sell them anyway, their obsession of gopher hatred makes this more fun for them to cheer against us than to cheer for their own team. When I see sue fans wearing their apparel at a twins game I wanna ask them questions and it most likely wouldn’t be a good thing for anyone.?
What should be done is trade Harvard for St. Cloud. Because it make sense for bracket integrity. Which is also why it won't get done...

This is definitely what should happen. We will see.
One possible pairing group posted on College Hockey News:
Fargo:
MN - Canisius
St. Cloud - Purple Cows

Considering Harvard's AD is on the comittee, I really don't see that happening. I'm not saying he's an unfair guy, but he will be a voice in the room that could sway the decision. It's pretty crazy thinking that keeping an eastern team off an airplane trumps bracket integrity and punishes two higher seeds. Especially when it's a jump of two places. I get that they CAN do it within bands, but really it's not the 50's. These teams are on airplanes all the time. Also what the difference between a 3 hour bus ride and a 3 hour flight? Avoiding air travel should not be a factor at all.
That said, If we can't beat Clown College, well then we really don't deserve to be there. As bad as our effort was last night, we were right there against a far better team than we'll see this coming weekend. Also, STC will be in for a dog fight with Ohio State anyway.
For bracket integrity purposes, it should be MN-Harvard-OSU-Canisius.
Swapping Harvard for SCSU does nothing give the #1 overall theoretically more difficult seed, just to get a few more people to buy seats in Bridgeport. That's ridiculous.
That said, SCSU hasn't been playing well of late so I'd be fine with it.
I heard last time Fargo hosted a regional they sold alcohol. But I always thought no alcohol sales for NCAA games.
So which is it?
They've been selling alcohol at NCAA games for quite a few years. At least the Frozen Four. I don't know about regionals.
Giddy up. I have drink rail tickets! They've been selling alcohol at NCAA games for quite a few years. At least the Frozen Four. I don't know about regionals.
If its Ohio State vs Jan in Fargo, I could see Ohio State winning that game. Either way, when the Gophers D plays like they did most of the year I like our chances getting through that regional and on to Tampa. Drop the puck...
We get Canisius in Fargo and Jan and Cows will battle it out.
Looks like the Fargo matchups are to eliminate most Minnesota teams early on. I get they will prob get best attendance of the regionals but…
Kinda BS if you ask me. Michigan benefits from pairing all the Minnesota teams in one regional. It's either a national tournament or it's not.
Allentown is weak
