Cooley likes to dump the puck in the corner and skate around the D to get the puck. ALL game the QU defense has checked Cooley, without the puck, to keep him from getting to the puck.
These refs refuse to call the textbook interference….and/or holding.
Yup. Saw them do it at the end of the third too. He dumped the puck from just inside the blueline and the defenseman rode him to the faceoff dot.
So basically the way the game is getting called is allowing Q to take away his speed. That is why interference is in the rule book. I wonder why Cooley hasn't impact the game as much? ?

Neither can go in at this level.the first was worse, close puts his stick forehand instead of backhand and that puck never gets acrosswhat a terrible goal
While I agree, you cannot get outshot 14-2 in the third, and blame you're goalie for letting in one that sends it to OT. Both should be saves. But that third period was a miserable effort by the entire team. Snuggy missing the net by 13 feet and ringing it out of the zone on the 2-on-1 was just as awful.
I feel bad for the kids...but just a horrible 3rd period. You can't play to not lose.

Incredible season. Obviously seeing a loss in the championship hurts, but this one really stings. They got up 2-0 and the attacking ended soon after. I'd be curious as to the number of shots they got after that second goal.

I really like what Motzko has done for this program but watching this team troll for over half the national championship game was tough to watch. This team is better than that and played scared trying to hold a lead.

They've done it in a lot of the overtime games this season. Nelson is their best face off man and that is their best defensive line if they win the face off you can always change lines and go on the offense.

I've been following Gopher hockey for almost 40 years and this is my favorite season (still is) and that includes the 02 & 03 national championship teams.
I don't put all the importance on winning the National Championship (a single game).
This isn’t European soccer. You can’t park the bus and expect a positive result up by one. Too conservative too soon in the period.
Hard work will beat talent, if talent doesn't work hard.
At the end of the day, let's all remember it is just a game. Vent. Purge. Get it out. Move on. And never sit on a lead.
And drink some fine bourbon (if you are of age).
