The second half begins. The question is who and when will the injured players return?
Mercyhurst is 2-15-3. The Gophers need to score early and often this weekend.
7:00 pm
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
World junior guys will be out too so hopefully some progress was made on the injury front. The timing of having this particular opponent is good at least.
Denver just lost to a club team, so that's a cautionary tale.
Are these games exhibitions or do they count?
Pretty sure they count. Not super worried about that assuming the team can field a full roster.
Hopefully when we are done with them, they’ll be mercyhurts. 🤭
Let’s hope no one gets injured this weekend. That may be more important than W’s.

The wins are actually pretty important. This is the worst team in the country in PWR so it would be a huge PWR bomb to lose either of these games.

yup. The one seed overall for sure will get an “easier” matchup and often times down to the 2 or 3 with autobids. Mankato looks decent this year so CCHA not as big an advantage but they could always lose postseason. ECAC looks pretty meh this year so far
Don’t see it mentioned anywhere.. Strib reporting Pahlsson is back this weekend.

That's a pleasant surprise, could be the whole forward group minus Ziemer and Moore?

felt optimistic after hearing he was skating over break. That’s very welcome news if it’s confirmed and wouldn’t expect the strib to print it unless Bob confirmed it

So we are down 5 regulars this weekend.
Still injured: Cal Thomas, Mason Nevers, and August Falloon
At the World Junior Tournament: Oliver Moore and Brodie Ziemer
Likely Redshirting: Max Rud
Shouldn’t matter this weekend but man we need to get healthy
@upnorthkid I don't think jimmy Snuggerud is that good when he isn't in the offensive zone
Don't let the goalie square up!
And stop being cute!
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
SNUGGY goes top shelve where momma hides the cookies!!!!
Goal!Snuggerud 1-0
I was so scared we were going to let the first shot in. Sigh of relief when it was saved haha
Kurth picks the same top corner (blocker side) 2-0
Goal Kurth! 2-0
Let's match the women's hockey tonight, huh? C'mon, guys! 😀

The Gopher women's 9-1 win was against a team who had a winning record going into the game. The Brown Bears were 8-7-1 now 8-8-1.
Let's be real, though, there is a BIG gap in women's hockey compared to men's, as far as top teams.

Goal! Lamb 3-0
Lamb doing Lamb things scoring a power play goal from the crease on a rebound. The Lamb is greasy.

Whipple is a liability every time he touches the ice. Woof.
Snuggy could look like he cares in the D zone anytime now.

I was thinkin maybe the 2003 regional game here?
Goal Mathew Wood 4-2
I don't know if Wood got the deflection could be a Luke Mitts goal!!!!
4-2
There we go. Now, don't fall asleep again.

Johnny Mitts!!!!
5-2
Pahlsson with a sweet between the legs stick handle and then pass to set up the goal.
@mikeeruzione11 nathan airey isn't helpful either
which of those goals is on Airey. The time the defender didn’t wrap a stick up or the time there was a wide open guy on the back door
@mikeeruzione11 nathan airey isn't helpful either
Lol. Are you watching the game? The 2nd goal the Mercyhurst player was by himself with not a Gopher defender within 30 feet. Jesus man

@mikeeruzione11 agreed. Gotta say Chesley has been a bit complacent as well. Guys are probably a bit rusty so not too concerned. Definitely not on our goalie though…

He's actually improved quite a bit over the first half and we’re not currently in a position to sit anyone.
