its going to be awhile man. but no weight on it coming off the ice coupled with how the hit looked and i would be shocked if it's not 2nd half at best and possibly missing the start of next year at worst.

i still am in favor of for those kinds of hits (similar to lunging head contact) where it is a clear and obvious hit that carries intent to injure, they should miss equivalent time to the player. it's gross to me you can go out and end a players season, face no repercussions for it (college hockey at most gives you 1-2 extra games) and then go back about your season while another player may miss the entire year for that type of hit/play. I get it that he probably didn't "mean" to hurt him, but he lunges his leg forward and out to initiate knee on knee contact. Its not just a clipping him but a deliberate attempt to put the knee in his way/hit him with the knee. Absolutely spineless play that has no place in hockey
Apparently Notre Dame's strategy this year is to try to seriously injury anybody associated to the Gophers with dirty hits L.J. Mooney in an exhibition game and now Lamb.
Both hits were ridiculously dirty.
Add in the Pahlsson, Thomas, Falloon injuries and the Gophers can't catch a break.
Janicke should be gone for a handful of games for that “hit”. Thats beyond ridiculous. Their fans booing the 5 call made me actually upset
Listening on the radio, I am super concerned for Lamb! I don’t really think of dirty players when I think of Notre Dame hockey, but the events of the last few months have me angry! What a bum that guy is!

if it was the nhl, sure. You would have the ability to say/do something and I'm sure you could send Gruba, Begley, Rud out there to beat the hell out of him. In college, there's nothing you can do and we're not a team that's going to take runs at people

Coming into tonight Notre Dame was 15th (out of 64) in most penalty minutes per game. They will likely be top 10 after tonight.

i don't see any way they could know this prior to getting an MRI. the physical exam stuff is pretty meh at ruling out though can rule in decently well for major, full ligament injuries.
Sounds like Huglen has been having a great game, that would be phenomenal for the rest of the gophers season if he can continue this level of play!
