The Gopher penalty kill is now 4 for 4 tonight.
James with a nice job clearing it for the Gophers on the Bulldog power play. 😉
All I know is I can’t wait for that to never get called in the NCAA tourney.Ok I might have my gopher glasses on, but that also doesn't look like a penalty at all lol. They're holding wood on every play behind the play and never called but that one is. Idk man
Pionk off the post after walking threw D
Bingo….just Fning sloppy from Dogs CJames with a nice job clearing it for the Gophers on the Bulldog power play. 😉
The refs are trying to set up the Bulldogs by repeatedly giving them power plays but Gopher PK says we got this 5 for 5 on the night. The Gophers have had two power plays. One of which was only 21 seconds long.
Jimmy Clark on the POWER PLAY!!!!
Great passing playing Moore to Kurth to Clark for the tap in.
Gophers 4-1
Clark 4-1, PPG.

This camera work is absolute SH-T ☝️ How can they be so inept at working the zoom on the camera. If all the action was in the neutral zone it would be great. CLARK with the 🗡️ Time to switch over the the Wild game. Congrats to Gophers on lthe 🧹 (it’s only been 13 years) 😉 All kidding aside, Gophers have looked really impressive all weekend, they appear to have a WAGON rolling forward in 24-25.
Unreal passing 😳
Beautiful goal
Bulldogs pull their goalie with 5 and half minutes left.
Wood scores in the empty net.
Off sides review coming.
Goal counts.
5-1
Wood 5-1, ENG.

Kurth, Wood, and Clark all have a goal and an assist tonight.
Moore has two assists.
MN is a team we might have to watch.
Thank you, TV announcers.

really like the kurth clark wood line and really like the play from ziemer hopefully we can get him to stick around for a while hes a great hockey player
Over the past 12 years the Gophers have swept every series played against the Bulldogs in Duluth.
Game over, Gophs win 5-1.

The little puppy dogs just aren’t that good. That’s a shame.

Fantastic! Can’t wait to see what they will do the rest of the season!
Souliere had some really nice saves today and even with a little post luck had a really nice game today. I still think they should probably split against St. Thomas and I'd like to see more of Airey as he's less of a known commodity than Souliere but this game definitely helped the latter's cause. And it sounds like the only goal he let in got tipped so my bad on that 😉 🤐
Overall that was an outstanding series, IDK what to think of that Duluth team but probably not as good as Omaha (who the Gophers also should've beat but whatever).
In the past year the Gophers have played the Bulldogs four times (three times in Duluth) and out scored them 20 to 10 winning three times and tying once. The Gophers out shot them 50-30 in the tie.
5-1
3-3
7-5
5-1
So much for the Bulldogs defensive style shutting us down they can't even slow us down.
SWEEEEEP
Wood Clark and Kurth line is dynamite. They have had so much puck possession.
Over the past 12 years the Gophers have swept every series played against the Bulldogs in Duluth.
I see what you did there…..
Gotta think Airey is the better player for the season, but Souliere played well after the first soft goal!

Nice play on words, but Gophers (after 2 game sweep) are still under .500 last 10 games vs Dogs
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
The past is the past, especially in college with player turnover. Live in the now. We beat the piss out of tUMD this weekend.

Bearpaw and the other Dogs fans can suck….
Duluth sucks.
You're not impressed by their 3-13-1 record over their last 17 games?
Crazy to think this was their first road sweep since February 18th, 2023--none last year.
I think most of us have already felt it: that the consistency this year is going to be vastly improved, primarily due to the depth of the team.
I'm no hockey mind, but I feel like that puts us on par with 2022-2023 when it comes to our chances to win it all, even with big time NHL faces and draft picks.
Should I book my plane ticket to St. Louis yet?
No but in all seriousness this team looks poised and just all out dangerous. Don’t remember if i remember a team that can roll 4 lines and 7 D like this one can.
Win or lose…..we booze! 😂
always sweeter after a sweep though!
Dominant wins, but some things to clean up.
Solid defense, but a few lapses. Goaltending is mediocre. Lots of scoring depth though, and that will carry this team.
This should be a fun team to watch, enjoy the ride!

Control rebounds, that's a big part.
Faceoffs? Biggest part.

In four games the Kurth, Wood, Clark line has 22 points (7 goals and 15 assists).
Kurth has 4 goals and 4 assists, Wood has 2 goals and 5 assists, Clark has 1 goal and 6 assists.
Wood was the primary assist on two Rinzel goals. Kurth was the primary assist on a Chesley goal. Clark was the primary assist on a Lamb goal and a secondary assist on a Rinzel goal.
They have been an important part of 11 Gopher goals in four games. The Gophers have given up a total of 9 goals while scoring 20.
The goalies have let in a few bad goals, but I wouldn't call Souliere's play mediocre at 1.49 and .940. Airey though definitely needs some work at .864.
Four games into the season all 11 forwards who have played more than two games that count have at least one goal.
Falloon and J. Mitts have split the role as the 12th forward with both playing two games that count (one game each weekend).
Falloon did score a goal in the exhibition game against St. Cloud and was the primary assist on the Nevers goal against Omaha.
Came here to post that. Unreal depth already showing itself with goals from every forward except Mittelstadt and Falloon (scored against Cloud). And Michel obviously but idk if that one changes anytime soon.
We played a 1st round NHL draft pick on the 4th line tonight. No but in all seriousness this team looks poised and just all out dangerous. Don’t remember if i remember a team that can roll 4 lines and 7 D like this one can.
That is depth.
Keep your stick on the ice...
That sweep sure made the drive home much easier. UMD has a very good 1st line, it's just the rest of the lines don't match up. Does anyone know why they didn't try harder to keep Blake Biondi, he was a Mr. Hockey and always gave the Gophers fits.
Question for trivia fans, when was the last time the Gophers swept up in Duluth? And how did that season turn out?
That sweep sure made the drive home much easier.
Makes the dirty looks from locals while out at the establishments that much more satisfying. 😂
I miss the days in college when we demolished them every trip up here. It’s about damn time!
