@mikeeruzione11 Lighten up dude. Your team won big tonight, despite the final score. Enjoy it…there’s nothing I’ve posted tonight that isn’t true.
@bearpaw28 and nothing I posted about UMD is untrue either.
You haven't even been annoying. I don't see any reason why you'd get muted. Now, if the score was reversed things might have gone differently but I like having some outside POVs on here.@mikeeruzione11 Lighten up dude. Your team won big tonight, despite the final score. Maybe it is just me and I like a little bit of smack talk
You posted speculation on how the Dogs will finish this season, which is your prerogative. Still haven’t answered my other question thou 😉just curious on that..@bearpaw28 and nothing I posted about UMD is untrue either.
Huglen had a great night. Same with Rinzel.
Gophers will have to practice some 6 on 5 . . . with emphasis on hitting the empty net on their icing attempts . . .
Go Gophers!
Not knowing what to do, they do what they know . . .
Knowing what to do, they sometime don't do it . . .
The 26th year of the Gopher Men's Hockey Profile got to be too much for this ol' codger to handle . . . what with all of the possible activity on the transfer portal . . . . So, I'm closing it down at the 25th year . . .
Three games into the season the Gophers have scored 15 goals by 11 different players.
Of the 11 forwards who have played all three games the only two who don't have a goal are the Jimmys. Clark has 5 assists. Snuggy has 2 assists and leads the team with 16 shots on goal. Kurth is second on the team with 12 shots on goal.
Over the 3 games the Gophers have out shot their opponents 136-62 so an average of 45.33-20.67
Counting the exhibition game they have dominated three Nacho conference opponents (St. Cloud, Omaha, and Duluth). Yes Omaha scored a 3 on 3 OT goal to win last Saturday with their goalie stealing the game but that does make the previous sentence untrue.
Guys I think this team might be pretty good
Guys I think this team might be pretty good
but if you ask bonin it won’t matter and we should just crown bc right now
Minnesota offense is deep and will give opponents match up problems this season.
UMD was taking a lot of chances to get back into the game, and a couple of those goals were lucky...but lucky goals count, too. The Gophers aren't known as a team that knows how to protect a lead. They have so much firepower that they just score themselves out of trouble. But they can't give up 5 goals against a team like this on twenty- something shots.
In periods 2 and 3, UMD played a 5-3 game. Yes, Minnesota stayed ahead all night, but a better opponent might have turned that game around.
Offense looked great. Yes there were some goofy goals by UMD in the third but Airey looked slow. Goaltending could become a question mark.
St. Cloud scored 1 goal
Air Force scored 1 goal
Omaha scored 1 goal in regulation before getting a 3 on 3 OT goal
Duluth scored 1 goal thru 2 periods
How the team responded to the goal that went in off of Chesley that cut the lead to 5-3 with just over 7 minutes left was impressive pushing the lead back to a 4 goal lead in less then 2 and half minutes.
It certainly would have been nice to finish off the game without giving up the two goals in last 4 minutes.
The team so far this season has played 12 regulation periods (counting the exhibition) and the 3rd period tonight is the first bad defensive period they have had which I would say was fine until the last 4 minutes. Yes it is important to reduce bad moments but no team can avoid them all the time.
lol, you just can’t resist poking your long beak in & as you typically do, make a comment where you take things out of context. Well, at least you didn’t follow me into the Twins thread. lol@bearpaw28 and nothing I posted about UMD is untrue either.
God forbid someone make a prediction.
@collegehockeyaddict The Jan Brady game was an exhibition & accordingly not really relevant to the analysis. This is a very DEEP Gophers team. I don’t (yet) see a Cooley or Knies level player from 2 years ago, but 1-12 at forward they may be stronger (overall) than in 22-23. I’ll still take the 22-23 blue line, but this one looks very good too. We don’t know much as far as Goalie. Very impressive first period last night to say the least. Dogs must start fast tonight to have any prayer…
I think Dogs power play will prove much improved compared to recent years….doesnt do them much good when they get completely steam rolled in first period. Last nights final score doesn’t reflect the disparity in the play last night, it was never in doubt, Dogs can’t make silly turnovers or D getting turned like a door knob when a forward pulls a toe drag & expect to compete. lolOffense looked great. Yes there were some goofy goals by UMD in the third but Airey looked slow. Goaltending could become a question mark.

Idk… two goals from blocked shots that landed right on a bulldogs tape. Another one off Chesley. I think the numbers make Airey look worse than he actually was last night.
So next season is it Dogs at Gophers for 2 games?
Aloha!

Your what hurts?
It should be another great game tonight. Hoping for a Gophers sweep.

why is it just like Vikings football, Gophers get a early large lead and have to hang on to get the victory?

It's a big rivalry. Usually the team behind makes a big push in the 3rd period. Glad to see the Gophers winning these games again. Usually the second game is low scoring, but would love to see the Gophers put up 10 tonight.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Those are solid forward lines, this team is very deep
Don’t play down to your competition. You’re the better team, play like it. Sandy will try to muck it up, hope for a 2-2 game. Foot on the gas peddle gents.
Would be a nice night to get 81 going.

Thats what I was thinking. I’m not worried long term but it would be nice for him to get the proverbial monkey off his back.
Gophers have looked mostly good this season. They need to figure out faceoffs, 33% isn’t going to cut it. UMD scored 5 goals on 22 shots, that’s not sustainable in the long-term.
But, our defense is scoring and our offense looks sharp. Hopefully that carries while we figure out the puck drop and get our new goalies settled in.
Only way to stream this is Nacho TV? Can't stream Fox 9+ in the Twin Cities it looks like?
It's on normal Fox9+ in the metro. As in, on tv.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
I imagine tonight will be more of a grind and they’ll park the bus in the slot and not let up as many rush opportunities. Hopefully our goaltending is better today.
Chat is going again, per usual.

The My9 camera work is fine in the neutral zone, but leaves a lot to be desired on both ends of the rink. Just too far away of an angle. But I guess beggers can’t be choosers…the game is on TV. Maybe they just shoot from too low of an angle, similar to when watching g a Notre Dame homel game at Compton.
Agreed, reminds me of watching SD hockey games in 360p or whatever it was back in the day where you sorta just followed the play based on what the players were doing.
ZIEMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Ollie Moore with a sweet pass to set him up.
Hell of a weekend for Zimmer so far. Also a really nice play by Moore to be strong on the puck and make that play.
Ziemer 1-0.

1. DON'T MESS WITH THE ZIM!
2. It's not just me. Those end angles need to zoom in a little.

Nice set up by Moore. Note to 16 Bechens (you’re not playing juniors anymore). Ziemer with another hot start.
Center ice cameraman is lazy. Overexposed picture & zoomed too far out that it is sometimes hard to follow the puck. Simple things to fix.
At least the audio is fixed.

Kurth from Wood!!!!!!

Kurth 2-0.

Yes , camera work is awful once again. Can't see the puck in the ends of the rink.
That was a crazy play by Kurth there to totally fake the goalie out! I’d assume he’d just go backhand there but really nice display of hands.
This team's breakout this year is unlike anything I've seen from a gopher team in a very long time.
@north45 I’m wondering if My9 simply utilizes a cheap camera that doesn’t zoom. Or a poorly trained camera operator. I’ve watched My9 telivised games up in Duluth during previous years and they had the same issue not zooming in properly on each rink end.
Gallatin 1-2.
