Rinzel fall gave the Dogs a 2 on 1 breakaway but the Dogs wanted a pass and didn't ever take a shot. We got lucky there.

accurate and fair. I’d expect the 2nd to be a lot more what the rest of the weekend is like. Duluth is outmatched, but tighter in the D zone there and being more physical. Right now refs are letting them be right at the line, which is exactly where they’ll need to be to have a chance

Well, Dom James clearly over-thought the play…it can happen to World Juniors alums too, especially when the missed all but 2 games last season. The most encouraging thing tonight for Dogs is Gahan (despite allowing 5 goals) he’s made going on 40 saves. This Gopher team is DEEP. Wood a big pick-up from the portal. Jimmy Clark is a good hockey player. Rinzel has a lot of upside. BTW, it’s now 5-3, at least Dogs didnt roll over after awful 1st period. Edit, Moore…now 6-3. edit, 7-3. Jeez. 2 of the Duluth goals were pretty lucky, Chesley deflected one in his own net. That one goal where everyone lost track of it was a weird one too. That’s not to say the goaltending has been great, Airey didn’t have many big saves and those big rebounds were a problem.
Their first goal was weird too lol. Not too worried about Airey for that performance. Weird goals mixed with not being able to get in a groove.
