I think it's tacky when a goalie get a letter. Not a comment on their impact on the team or their leadership. Just looks weird when there is a goalie captain. Like...is he going to leave the crease to talk to the ref at the penalty boxes?

I’m going to get on my soapbox once and then I’ll leave it be. More often than not in college sports it’s the programs that ARE NOT traditional blue bloods that push out “different” and controversial uniforms. The “old money”/blue blood programs know their look and stick to it. In football we see Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Notre Dame, etc. In basketball it’s Duke, UNC, UCLA, Michigan State, Indiana and so on. For hockey it’s usually Minnesota, Michigan, Denver, Wisconsin, and the Boston schools that usually keep their uniforms pretty classic and clean. I like Fleck but there’s no reason that our blue blood hockey program has to resort to his uniform gimmicks.

I second this notion. I was upset at players picking high numbers at first too but I got over that so I think I’ll be fine lol

Call it taconite or anthracite…. They look black for the most part and I don’t like it.
I doubt Fleck is making uniform decisions and I don't think the football team has gone that far off the deep end most games. They've had a few head scratching moments with colors, but gold and maroon still dominate.

Fleck has said before he does have input into the uniforms each week. He said most of the time his input is to be completely opposite from the opponent. If they wear black, we wear white. If they wear white, we wear maroon. Things like that.

With most on jerseys though. Much more of a traditionalist there.
I am old school and don’t like the high numbers but also realize I am in the minority and should probably be put out to pasture. On the colors I also prefer the primary maroon, gold and white but if they go black/gray I will be happy if it is taconite vs anthracite.
They've gone with the lowest of the low, nasty stank turd apparel companies. I'd be surprised if new jerseys are within three shade of game jerseys. I'm expecting red and yellow apparel on the shelves.
They once had a Fanatics store in Northtown. I knew nothing about the company so I went in and found most of the apparel to be such garbage. The one item I found worthy of a purchase had sleeve long enough for Wilt Chamberlain.

Weren't the players responsible for the weird jersey numbers one year? Like a player designed them? Im not a fan of a bunch of players designing jerseys, they usually end up trendy with overwrought graphics and the kitchen sink thrown on. Let’s just say subtlety isn’t the wheelhouse of your average 20 something male. Okay, I’ll get off my front porch too.

The yellow gold numbers were hard to read on TV against the white jersey. Of course, they wear those jerseys almost exclusively in a season where fans HAVE to watch on TV

The replicas. The scheels one was gosh awful. The one they sold at mariucci a titch less. I got one from forehead and don’t mind that one.
