I noticed one of our freshman D had another heart stopping cross ice pass into the neutral zone that turned over the puck. That's a low percentage tendency and #71 gotsta keep it simple!
That game had all the tension of a semifinal, as did MI-Q game...both games decided late.
A couple Boston fans were telling me they played the game they needed to but got screwed by the reffing. I said...weeeellll...they did have some puck luck, survived 3 pipes, and benefitted from three replays. Then I asked, did they actually commit those penalties? ?
Cooley line could draw a penalty almost every shift but refs don't make these calls.

Same for me... I told the Boston fan to read the book 'Hockey for Dummies'. The stripes called that game pretty textbook on the penalties except for the interference on Snuggerud. Which was a phantom make up call for the interference on BU prior.
Keep your stick on the ice...
I was really getting tired of the play by play constantly referring to everyone who touched the puck in both games actually, which round they were drafted and by whom. It just gets old after awhile. I’d rather they talked about which parents house they eat tacos at on Wednesdays. That’s the good stuff right there?
I guess I just miss frank and Doug. They were the madden and summerall team of college hockey play by play imo.
The Gophers have outscored their opponents 12-0 in the third period in their three NCAA games.
I was there in 1976, 1979 and 2002.

Chesley seems to be good for 1 bad turnover a game but is good other than that.
The trip on Knies they called against BU was questionable but we also had the obvious goal that trickled across the line not counted so they probably shouldn’t be going there.
The one time I really noticed Hutson was on Mittlestadt's first goal. He was within arms reach of Huglen, and didn't do ANYTHING to move him out of the crease. Watching the replay, Hutson had ample time to try and move Huglen off his spot and protect Commesso's vision, and he didn't do a thing.
For a supposed all-world defenseman, Hutson didn't show me much defensively.
I think what most tv guys get stuck on with Hutson is his offensive numbers but he still has to play defense to make an impact in a game. Last night Hutson was so worried about his offensive game he offered next to nothing at the other end of the ice. Your case in point.
I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!

Whining fans from Boston? Glad I was sitting down when I read this.

I've spent way too much trolling around this AM; one more & this didn't age well.

4. Hobey Freshmen
I’ll keep this relatively short because again, a deep dive on Lane Hutson’s accomplishments feels like a great post-tournament feature to write and because this preview is already three pages long. It is really hard to win both the Hobey and the national title in the same year. Matt Gilroy can do it, other people have done it, but it’s hard to win both.
To put it simply, Cale Makar won the award with 49 points in 41 games (1.195 ppg) as a sophomore. Lane has 48 points in 38 games for 1.263 ppg as a freshman.
Adam Fantilli is a no-brainer, alongside Logan Cooley. Matthew Knies is, in my opinion, the odd man out and will just split votes for the Gophers. Matt Kennedy, the Gopher beat writer for the Minnesota Daily, made a fair argument in regards to what Knies does on the ice that goes unnoticed, and that you really just have to watch him play. We’ll wait to see it in person on Thursday.
When we had Cade Webber on the podcast, he put it well: “All I know is they made a mistake. Piss off Lane, he’ll be ready to go.”
As a college hockey fan, what a weekend of games ahead. If the Terrier storyline is line chart depth and a pissed off allstar, the Gopher storyline is experience and a bitter taste of only making it so far last year. The teams will square off on Thursday at 5:00pm with a chance to compete for a national championship on the line. The BHB will have full on-the-ground coverage on Twitter @BOShockeyblog and Instagram @Boston.Hockey.Blog, so be sure to follow along.

It would be my guess that the Boston U fanbase is exploding this morning flavored with a we-wuz-robbed themed backdrop.
I know a few Terrier fans and they’re ok. These are pretty level-headed people though, so not what you’re going to find on twitter.
They didn’t like how tightly the game was called and think it helped the Gophers, but aren’t claiming it was a screw job or anything. They agreed with me that if we had a crew that just let them play AND the Gophers had less bad luck, the score likely ends up the same.
Did they notice the Gophers had 2 goals waived off?A couple Boston fans were telling me they played the game they needed to but got screwed by the reffing. I hope Scarlet took it ok!

She appears to. Proud of her team hanging in as long as they did. Felt it was clear who the better team was, and that team won.
Sean McDonough that's it!
Bob was on Big10 Today. Really praised all the Minnesota fans that came. Nice to hear.
