More insight from the spearing incident from the photographer that was in between the benches. It started with a Snuggy check, and then some chirping. Click the link in Vegoe's post for some pretty close up photos from the whole thing.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

Absolutely gutless conference. They refuse to add discipline for egregious acts.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
1. The B1G messed up by not adding additional discipline
2. Spearing can never be justified but my goodness how far did Snuggy take the taunting to trigger a guy that hard?
There isn't a whole lot there with the actual "spear" but going after someone on the bench should probably be worth a few games by itself
If you get knocked down next to the bench, get up and tussle with the first person you see who happens to be on the wrong side... ok, that's one thing, but this punk skated from center ice over to the bench to do this. There isn't a whole lot there with the actual "spear" but going after someone on the bench should probably be worth a few games by itself

That was a good weekend of hockey. The lines are clicking. The hard work and physicality are (mostly) there. There was a lot less reaching for pucks this weekend than was typical during the first half. Let's see what happens against tougher opponents away from home over the next two series. But the run they are on should give them confidence and momentum to build off of.
On the spearing incident. Total idiotic move and probably warranted additional suspension. That being said, for our players' safety, I know I'd rather the Thiesing love tap (which was never likely to actually injure Snuggerud) than have him run one of the Gophers into the boards or go head hunting (a la Bemidji State on Mason Nevers).
