For those who didn’t watch the game. You can look forward to #34 Mazur slashing, cross checking after the whistle and diving constantly. The Robbie Earl of DU

Still think Owen Power is way overrated.

With that said…always nice to see the skunks take a huge L

Yeah, I've always respected the style of hockey they play (esp. Under gwoz i guess, haven't paid much attention to them since the nacho).

Is Denver more like Western MIchigan/UMass?

Yes, in my opinion they are predictable. Michigan and their youth is what we have dealt with the past few years. You get an incredible game and then a clunker.

I’m not surprised Denver won. After all, they edged by one a red hot team in their (home) Regional Final that had just won the NCHA playoff title at (their) quasi- home rink (Xcel) Wink Mr. Green Good for Bobby Brink & the Pioneers!

UConn women (basketball) were 11-0 in title games until this year. Shock

That was a no-win game. Another NaCHo team going through or Fichigan.

I've never liked Denver, but they also never got to the level of actual hatred.

Michigan on the other hand has been stuck in my 3rd place for hated teams for many many years

I guess I don’t like any other teams. I have varying levels of dislike for most and levels of hatred for a few. Michigan is high on the list of hated. I’m certainly not going to “like” any team that has more titles than the Gophers. F those guys.

I've seen us beat Michigan this year. Would like to see a new opponent to beat. Therefore Denver was the pick. On to the main event.

Well, we enjoyed our donut tour. Too much donut for sure. Didn’t go to Mike’s but a local place, Bova’s, also in Little Italy, for a great Boston Crème.

Very good, at least the Boston Crème. Agree locals have a strong preference. Asked our guide about Mike’s and thought we might get kicked off the tour.

To be fair, Kane’s in the financial district, also very good. Can’t understand how Dunkin can compete. So many good places.

Bovas had a much much wider selection of desserts. I think Mike’s is the name brand place, but the cannolis are still excellent.

So far today we’ve made it to Harpoon, now Trillium. We aren’t moving very quickly apparently. LoL

Edit: other than the resident mavs fan with us (Viking) we thankfully haven’t seen any purple cows. Mostly Gopher fans.

We are at democracy brewing and at 8 pm they are having a “sing along with Mel”.

No, it’s not Mel Pearson (I might have an aneurism if I have to either of their two songs one more time.) ?

Just ran into the entire Denver team out on the town in the North End. We walked out of La Familia and they were strolling down the sidewalk. Back on the team bus at the end of the block, room check at 8:30?

Dorothy: Who’s that?
Scarecrow: A man with an axe and a can of lube. I’ll ask if he wants to join us.

We were out and about in the Beacon Hill area last night. Every bar we were in was SRO like pre pandemic. Good to see. We hit a few bars and then called it a relatively early night at 11. 1 more day of hitting it before we fly out on Sunday. Will be avoiding the Greatest Bar like the plaque today since that is the Kato Bar. (and they don't have the staff to handle large crowds. I will get into that with my FF recap on Sunday)

We walked in there Thursday and basically just walked back out. That was complete overload. Found a less crowded bar a few blocks away to get our beers. Can’t imagine we would change our philosophy tonight.

I guess I'm one of the few people on this board who's pulling for Mankato today. Denver has 8 titles already (3 of those since 2004). I'd like to see someone new win it. For me, it's nice to see hardware come to the state of Minnesota, no matter which school here wins it.

It's sour grapes and an unfortunate part of my make-up, but I admit to being a sore loser. After the team gets bounced, my interest needle hovers at near zero.

But, to respond to your question, I would pull for Mankato FOR: they belong to a fraternity of Minnesota hockey schools, they have a lot of Minnesota kids on their team, they are the "little red engine that could," I like their coach, and they earned their spot. However, AGAINST: it would be rewarding a recruiting strategy and style of play I am loathe to support.

Anyone find it interesting that according to CHN, among the top 10 youngest teams include:

BC, BU, Minnesota, Denver, Wisconsin, UND, Michigan

https://www.collegehockeynews.com/almanac/funfacts-ageavg.php

Basically almost all blue-chip programs in youngest. Makes we wonder if these programs will attempt to get older over the next few years to match what Mankato is doing or if they will stay the course getting young players.

Seems like the younger teams tend to have success year after year. The older teams keep changing as to who is able to make it work. They get a bit lucky on a couple kids and turn it into success for a few years. Then a new team takes their place. Remember Union? This same argument happened when we lost to them

We did a duck boat tour. Did not get to go in the water because that was the exact half hour a storm rolled through and there was lightning. Timing is everything. We at least got a partial refund.

Yes. Although you’re not nearly as dangerous as an old coworker who

1. Was working in lower Manhattan on 9/11

2. Was traveling in Japan when the Fukushima nuclear plant melted down

3. Was traveling in Phuket during the big Tsunami

This is me. I’d root for MSU for all but I HATE that style of play. Personal take, it ruins hockey. I also hated the 2-line pass and am a grumpy old man.

Nothing against Hastings or the team.

Beer tour through City Brew Tours was amazing. 13 strangers who were fast friends by the end. Fun getting driven around for 5 hours drinking. 14 different beers over 4 breweries. The last was a 9.5% stout. I think half of us would have kept the party rolling if we could have.
