I thought it was a very good crowd. The suites and whatever the things at the top of the arena is where I thought most of the empty seats were. Also, better than the sea of empty seats in Buffalo.

They were clearly the better team and absolutely choked that game away. Once Denver got a lead the game actually became watchable, the teams started trading chances and actually playing hockey which the Mavs weren’t exactly prepared for. At least there’s some justice in the hockey universe, seeing that trash brand of hockey win a national title would be hard to swallow.
Kind of bummed for Mankato to be honest. But I could not and would not root for them. Not really happy Denver won another one either. I am happy for the young coach for Denver though. That was an impressive performance.

I don’t have any reason to hate Denver so they were clearly the lesser of evils for me in this game. Also because of them it wasn’t Michigan vs Mankato which would’ve really sucked.

Credit to Denver. The fact that they were able to beat both Michigan & Kato is impressive considering the different styles of both teams. Deserving in the end.
Dogs won the title in 2018, then again in 2019, chance for 3peat snuffed out by Covid-19, then lose to eventual champ UMass in 2021 & Denver in 2022 (8 days after beating them at Xcel) . Mavs had Denver…then pee down their leg at crunch time and lose.

I had that exact conversation with a Mav fan today when I said that Denver would win 3-2 and he countered with 4-1 Mavs. He didn’t think Denver had speed, grit, and skill. I said that Denver was the same team as the Mavs except they had the talent along with the rest of that.
