I liked the "Three Blind Mice, Three Blind Mice" that was used at the Old Mariucci.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work any more with there being 2 refs and 2 linesmen.
They could always use "If I Only Had a Brain" from The Wizard of Oz...
They play both!! Listen for the trombones when the refs come out on the ice - they play a little snippet from the wizard of oz “if I only had a brain” followed by four descending notes from the tubas which are “three blind mice” followed by a fourth note they added when it went to four refs.
The wizard of oz thing started after it was part of a halftime show (had to be late 90s). They started the three blind mice thing around then too and they eventually melded together.
Anyone notice that you can buy a parking pass in 4th st ramp for the women's game for $10 but the men's game is $12?
I could just buy the women's pass for the men's game, right? Not like those have a entry window?
wouldn’t surprise me. Looks like pay on site lot prices are now $12; our season ticket parking passes were previously based on $10 a game so I bet that goes up next year (if they don’t keep the extra $ already this year). Sorry, I know that doesn’t answer your question, and I do not know how they police the parking in the ramps…
The whole top line was buzzing last night but I thought even before the series started that Ziemer was made for this kind of series and he lived up to that last night. Hopefully he does again today. That kid is just a hockey player. An absolute dawg and I could definitely see him wearing a letter further along in his Gopher career.
I liked that they battled back last night but three things, aside from the whole face off discussion, that I’d like to see improved for tonight and going forward. One, better breakouts and clearing the zone. Two, need to have some jump from the beginning. No more slow starts! Three, I’m nit picking here but, our transition play when we get going is superb and we showed that last night. But it’d be good to see a goal or two from consistent pressure and time in the offensive zone. We can’t always rely on flying in on odd man rushes.
I thought the student section looked good in their Elmer Fudd hats last night. Not as good as the ones in the past, sort of cartoony, but the students seemed to like them. Gold t-shirts for the ones tonight and gold poms for the rest of us. We had a group of 4 WI fans in front of us last night, a family with maybe a five year old. He was very excited about the first two goals and was jumping out of his seat. He was not happy to lose, he really didn’t like the MINNESOTA cheer….too loud 🤣. He did get a giant dish of ice cream so overall I’m pretty sure it was a successful evening. The adults were good sports and fun to talk to between periods. Why can’t all fans be like that?
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

The game last night was a whole lot closer than the score. WI dominated the first, Minnesota the second, and the third was a mix. The Gophers had the crowd and better goaltending last night. Souliere made some early saves and a couple in the third, giving his team the edge.
WI ended up with 35 or so shots but many came early. In the third period, WI had several shifts in which they outplayed Minnesota but couldn't produce a tying goal. Thanks to another dandy play by the flying Swede, Jimmy and the Gophers salted the game away with a late even-strength goal.
I don't know if WI can play much better than they did last night, but I'd like to see the Gophers launch an assault from the drop of the puck. I think they've given up the first goal in 5 straight games, and that's a game-readiness problem. The coaches and the captains need to motivate this team to start games.

I am going to start calling them the Senior Citizen Line after all they are all over 70. 😉
They are one of the youngest lines in the country with two freshmen and one junior.

I wonder how much selling more student tickets than seats helped push the attendance to the 3rd largest ever. We sit in sect 15, next to the students, and for the 1st 5 minutes of the game, the late arriving STH had to kick the overflow students out of their seats. In our row alone, half of the row had to be removed while the game was going on.
Also, was the guy who did the weather between periods drunk?
Ha! Thanks for reminding me about that. His weather report was “it’s gonna get cold. 30.” And that was it. No times associated with anything. And yes it seemed like he had a few.
Call the league and tell them to stop with the 5pm starts. 😛
I believe this is something the U/Gophers asked for on Saturday home games. I believe the thought is it's better for families/kids attending games.
It's the best thing they could have EVER done. I go to WAY more games with my wife and two kids now because of it. I desperately hope they keep it that way.
Not only that, but it's not like it hasn't been really full on almost all of those Saturday games...
The BADgers this season took 8 points from Michigan and 5 points from Michigan State but could only take one point from the Gophers (an OT loss).
The Gophers now have an 6 game unbeaten streak against Bucky with the only tie being a 1-1 tie at Madison last year when the Gophers had multiple goals disallowed on calls that were "interesting".
Thought the refs were significantly better tonight which... isn't saying much 😆. Good win and sweep against a good opponent/rival, I don't have many complaints about that one it was a good hard fought win and relatively even game until the end.
They keep showing a BADger fan who is wearing the red and white striped overalls sitting by himself with nobody around him. He doesn't seem eager to leave. #SadGuy
