Sucks to as all I have heard from friends is the severe shortage for the supply of blood.

The Red Cross doesn’t have convenient hrs. The one I go to is not open on the weekend and their week day hours are pretty much “9-5” type hours. Makes it very hard to get in.

And I have a healthy high platelet count. So the Red Cross always asks me to do a dbl unit of platelets apheresis than a unit of blood.

Is Memorial Blood Center still around for blood donations? I haven't given blood in quite a while, but back when I did Memorial was WAY better than Red Cross.

There were times when Coffman Union would host blood drives with Red Cross and Memorial next to each other and the memorial line was always so much shorter than Red Cross because Red Cross never had their shit together. One tome I made the mistake of going in the Red Cross line and as I lay on the bed and the needle was inserted, another donor passed out. The person inserting the needle raises my wrist to get my arm out of the way so she can rush to help the other donor. The problem is she bent my arm to 90 degrees with the needle still in my elbow. LOL. It hurt like hell.

I would never use Red Cross if Memorial was available.

I've spent 20 minutes this morning, and four emails, trying to convince our logistics department that the United Arab Emirates is in the Middle East (as defined by our logistics).

Them: That part can only be shipped to EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa)

Me: I know, I'm trying to ship it to the UAE

Them: But you can't ship it to the Americas

Me: I know, I'm trying to ship it to the UAE

I had a similar experienced a couple years ago. We used to have most all of our returned goods sent to Decatur. A business I support is an exception due to FDA requirements so returned material needs to be sent back to our manufacturing location in CA. Someone coordinating a return slipped up and had material returned to the Decatur location. Our quality manager sent me (and copied the world) a scathing email demanding to know why I had material sent to France. My big dilemma was do I call him out publicly or privately. I went for the latter....which paid off in the long run.

I’ve been more patient recently, especially since Covid. I ordered a package a Jan. 6th and it was mailed to me on Jan. 7th with a tracking number. The package hasn’t arrive and has had no tracking info since the 9th. I msg’ed USPS on Monday and they got back to me yesterday. Supposedly packaged isn’t lost cause all the rest of the packages in the same container have not been delivered.

I can understand if I ordered something outside of the US and packages being held up. Though this was ordered from North Carolina and I haven’t heard of and major delivery issues with USPS. Just fishy my package hasn’t had any info or movement in over a week.

Maybe it got stuck in customs as it passed through Decatur?

There is a severe trucker shortage. I’m sure it’s affecting all movement right now. It’s annoying and I get your frustration, it will eventually show up but that doesn’t make it easier.

Just frustrating... I understand things are slower and backed up. And I have my opinions and I'll leave it at that. Though I try and I encourage my wife to do the same by being extra friendly. Thank and encourage the employees at grocery stores, retail stores, restaurants and convenience store/gas stations. They get A LOT of crap and they don't need myself or my wife to add to it. They are just trying to do their job and 90% of the BS is out of their hands. And the look they give when I say "Thank you for all you do, it's very appreciated" you would think they just won the lottery.!!!

Keep your stick on the ice...

Believe me, the supply chain is messed up right now. I work in two different industries, and there are a multitude of issues.

Truck drivers, glass shortages, aluminum shortages, workers at the shipping facilities, demand for certain products, etc. Each little step adds up to one big problem.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Just paint it a new color and stitch in a big ' x 2' under the 16.

Problem solved...

I play it but I agree it gets a little annoying and I just don’t like posting that much on FB or Twitter. I’d probably share with friends if I got it on the first or second word.

It seems to be about 10% of twitter posts lately. I don't know the game, but I really couldn't care less how anyone scores on a video game.

Get a high score on Sudoku? IDGAF. If you play 100 games per day you're bound to get a good score every now and then.

I have a Sudoku app that has different levels of difficulty. It give more points for more difficult puzzles and accounts for speed, errors, etc.

My high score is 82,353 Mr. Green

I upgraded to the newest iOS 15 for my archaic iPhone 7. I HATE the new thumbnail image layout of the webpages on safari. It appears there is no way to revert to the older more practical stacked view. Or does anyone here have some secret hacks? Is there a different web browser that still offers the stacked view?

I don’t know what kind of moron designed this “upgrade”.

So they went to mobile Chrome style instead of that crazy scrolling thing where I always see girls with 1000 tabs open that they have to roll through like the wheel of fortune wheel?

How is the stack more user friendly?

Neither is more or less user friendly. It's just a preference.

Surely there was data behind the decision. Also, meant to say the price is right wheel not the wheel of fortune wheel.

I’m probably going to poop my pants when I have to upgrade to a new iPhone. LoL Hoping to later this year, unless my current one dies sooner. I am technologically illiterate so will need some help backing up my phone since my desktop that I used to store it on broke.

I still use iTunes. I’m sure that will be a nightmare to sort out too. I’ll have to figure out how to share all my personal info on the cloud I suppose…

You will be able to literally set your old 7 next to anything new and it will connect with said new one and transfer everything over. I like to start fresh, so I just make sure that iCloud and my Contacts are synched and that is about it.

Not sure if iPhone has this set up (I'd bet money they do, but don't use one, so can't be certain) but I know with Android, when you are getting the new phone going, there's a migration app that you run that automatically connects to the old phone and transfers everything over for you.

Yes, iPhone does it even better but they're basically the same

I can't wait to jettison my 6s soon, the battery is dying quickly and is adhd as well. I unplugged it the other morning and just opened the phone and I lost 11% on the battery. I opened my email on it seconds later and it quickly went to 11%. I shut the phone off and turned it back on and the battery was at 85%. It's time.

Mrs. Zwak just did the same thing. She had an iPhone 7 and the battery would die VERY quickly. Upgraded to iPhone 13 and she is much happier. AT&T had a promotion that they gave her a $350 trade-in credit for iPhone 7 so it was too good to pass up.

I opened my email on it seconds later and it quickly went to 11%. I shut the phone off and turned it back on and the battery was at 85%. It's time.

Getting a new battery is cheap and significantly improved mine. I had to use my phone for work when covid started and clients weren’t allowed in the building and my phone had to pretty much be plugged in all the time. It’s been a year on the new battery and is just starting to nosedive in battery life. I did mine through Best Buy geek squad.

I've thought about that but I think it's time to get something newer than half of the iPhone generations. Also my daughter goes off our plan in May when she graduates college...congrats, here's a phone bill! LoL Well that and she is getting married so big girls get big girl bills. :D So my wife and I are planning our upgrades this spring if our phones hold out.

Why does your daughter have to go off your plan? Through AT&T, we have my dad, mom, brother-in-law, sister, nephew, niece, soon my wife and myself. And with all 8 of us on the plan, I still pay less for my wife (when she joins) and myself then what I was paying just for myself, when I was by myself.

Keep your stick on the ice...

Numbers...there is no financial benefit to keeping her on our plan. She is an adult and after graduating she can pay her own way in life just like my wife and I do. Nothing dickish about it and I know plenty of people do exactly what you spell out but that's how it is going to happen. Just like her car insurance and health insurance will be her responsibility at some point this year. When she graduates in May she will have filled our goal as her parents: not raise an asshole, be someone who will positively contributes to society and not be a burden on others. I guess a phone plan fits in there somewhere.

My kids are on our plan and pay us each month for their portion and so far that is a better deal for them.

I look at it as, no one is getting a free ride. And with everyone paying in their equal portion, everyone is getting a better deal for themselves.
