She was that rare Hollywood star who was truly loved by her co-workers, both other actors and the crew. She had an absolutely filthy mouth, was highly intelligent and clever, and loved being the center of a joke. I think her teasing relationship with Ryan Reynolds sums it up. People adored her.

Oh no, do you have the crud? Epic sinus drainage seems to be far and away the hallmark of this season’s non-covid respiratory fun. All the boogers! Good luck and hope they vacate soon. :)

I am just starting it. Unfortunately for me I am in a hotel with my wife and 2 kids. So I can’t be by myself to cough and clear my sinuses without keeping everyone up all night.

Any Kris Lindahl commercial in particular the "do the Lindahl". Seems like he's more concerned with promoting himself than his company.

And you can’t drive more than five miles on a freeway without seeing one of his signs. He must be doing alright for himself given the volume of advertising he can afford.

You know how I know I’m old? Not one text from anyone at midnight saying happy new year. Nobody my age stayed up late enough. ?

LoL I texted my brother at 11:30 because we were going to bed. He responded back this morning he just saw it as they were already asleep. I have nothing to prove anymore, sleep is good.

I always have the feeling that Lindahl will go the way of Tom Petters and Denny Hecker.

There are 3 Kris Lindahl signs in a row on the west side of MN 65 for N bound traffic right around 200th / north of old Hunters Inn.

He needs a better add buyer, for sure.

I think there’s at least a dozen on 35 between Hinckley and St. Paul.

A couple more between Cambridge & Mora.

Almost makes you think that if the billboard company can't have another enterprise on the sign they default to KL at a reduced rate.

I HATE his new TV ad.

He has ads in eastern Colorado too in addition to as many signs in MN as Wall Drug has in SD

The only other commercial that I remember from my time in the cities was the George Corporal steaks commercial for your broken windshield. IIRC, they changed the law regarding they way insurance dealt with those after that.

Had a scheduled time for a covid test at the airport. They don’t care and still make you stand in the same line that’s over an hour long with walk-ups. This is stupid.

Not my point at all. This wasn’t a mandatory test. I scheduled a time (like they encourage you to do) then they don’t offer a separate line for appts. vs. walk ups.

That would be really frustrating. I know the place they have in Brooklyn Park (the couple times we've had to use it over the past 12 months) split you out and made it well worth having the appointment.

Bloomington does too. I usually go there but when I was looking to schedule, this was the first available. I guess it didn’t dawn on me they didn’t care about honoring appointments.

Kinda like my appointment at the Red Cross Bloodmobile. I got there at my time, then sat there for 2 hours as all the walk ups went ahead of me. Apparently walk ups got priority rather than be turned away. All those with appointments went last. Lots of pissed people.

That happened to me a couple of years ago! I walked out, but not before telling them why. I believe in the service, but don’t waste my time, it’s insulting. If that’s the model then don’t make appointments at all, just go walk up only. I was told to my face that they need to prioritize walk ins because they might not come back, but that people who make appointments are usually regular donators. WTF? That’s very short sighted and frankly self-righteous. I haven’t been back, mostly because of Covid, but that attitude didn’t help.

That's exactly what I figured their thought process was. If you tell a walk up they'll have to wait they're more apt to leave than the appointment people.

Wanna know what’s worse than the over an hour long wait at the airport for a PCR test? “Inconclusive” results. :anger:

I’d like to retest to try and get an answer but there’s nothing open for at least a week. One popped up tomorrow at the airport but I’m not going through that again. I’m debating standing in line at open in Bloomington tomorrow but it’s supposed to be -3 and 11mph wind. ????

I wish they’d reopen the Burnsville location.

Edit: even better, the home spit tests they mail to you came back in stock.

https://learn.vaulthealth.com/state-of-minnesota/

Only so many given out per day. FYI start over if they ask for a credit card. It should be free!

We had the issue with finding a test as well and have had luck at GatherWell in Edina. It’s at 100&494 but you have to manually file a claim with your insurance if you want them to cover it

Cowgirl, there are no more walk-ups, it’s appointment only so hopefully your problem the last time doesn’t reoccur. I would think with only appointments there wouldn’t be a long line. I’d go for it.

It’s day by day on whether they allow walk ins at the airport; I found and appointment this am and I wasn’t going to risk waiting for an hour and being late to work, and it was too cold to stand in line in Bloomington. My question now is once I receive the home test, how long to get through on the “virtual waiting room” to meet with someone to supervise the test as you have to do that for it to be valid. Even though I’ve taken 20 of these already and know how to properly spit in the tube. ?

They also have to make sure someone else isn't spitting in the tube.

Do you need a PCR or will an at home test cover your needs.

I have found it is helpful to know the delivery truck schedule for your local Walgreens. I picked up 3 today.

My youngest child just tested positive for strep today. 2nd time since Thanksgiving and 3rd since mid September.

My older son had Influenza A just before Christmas.

My wife had a bad cold just after Christmas.

I've had a bad cold since New Year's Eve.

The crud is getting very old.

Yes I’d like to repeat the PCR to be certain as my last one was “inconclusive”. I’ve had negative rapids at home during this time but know they may not be as accurate, especially with the current variant. Before I go to family events and games I want to be certain that I’m not part of the problem.

Rapid tests are hard to find too so I don’t want to use up what I have unless I need to for something important.

I really do love winter but I will admit it...I do bitch about the severe cold like it has been for the last 24 hours though. I hate driving around in my truck which feels like a block of ice even though it is warm inside the truck.

I also hate the random patches of slick as ice on the road when the temps get this low. Doesn't look any different than a normal salt covered Minnesota winter road, but it is. Hit one this morning. Barely touched the brake pedal and I was at 45 degrees instantly. (Old CR-V doesn't have ABS)

Had a scheduled time for a covid test at the airport. They don’t care and still make you stand in the same line that’s over an hour long with walk-ups. This is stupid.

I was scheduled to give blood today. I got a call a few hours before my appt. They are short on workers and cancelled my appointment (I'm presuming that they cancelled the whole site.) I've been giving for around three decades, but I have been failing the Hemoglobin test lately, so probably not a big loss.

Sucks to as all I have heard from friends is the severe shortage for the supply of blood.
