I hate the Disturbed cover, and I like Disturbed. There are parts where he completely overdoes it, and it's horrid. I love the concept, but the execution? I'm all for executing this song.

When something bugs me about a song, it REALLY bugs me. It starts off fine, then goes very awry.

I'm not a Disturbed or Simon and Garfunkel fan and I loved it. So much I downloaded it and forced people at big mistake tailgate to listen to it. Sorry Rube!

We can play it again sometime, and I can point out the exact part where it turned for me. I'm used to hearing it, 93X plays it 5 times a day during my workshift.

I liked it, until he did something totally annoying with his voice/delivery, hard to describe in print. When listening to it, I can pinpoint it.

Apologies if this has been talked about already. Thoughts on disturbed's Simon and garfunkel cover of The Sound of Silence?? I'm a big metal fan, not a big disturbed fan, but this cover is a 10. Disturbed always seemed a little juvenile and meat-headish to me but maybe I should delve deeper.
Also, I laugh thinking about will Ferrell knocking children out of the way after shooting himself with a tranq gun in Old School, falling into a pool, and this song immediately strikes up.
It's horrible. Just horrible.

It sounds like he's squeezing out a turd for half the song.
I hope the DT jukebox gets it. I will play it just for you two.

And then I'll play some really bizarre stuff, just for fun.
Some good, some novelty, some random.

I can tolerate most music. Even if I would not go out of my way to listen to it. Screaming death metal and most rap are the only two music styles I truly do not like.
I swear to god I'll put $50 of 1989 in to the jukebox if you pull that.

I'll let her play it, then point out where it turns horrible. Then I'll put in all of Weird Al's polka mixes, plus the "Biggest Ball Of Twine In MN." I'm only half-kidding.

That D'Angelo performance on Fallon the other night of "Sometimes it Snows in April" was absolutely amazing. Got pretty damn dusty in the room during that.

Never visit Hammerheart brewing.
Classical (minus a few select pieces) and country after 1985 or so (minus a few select pieces) are about the only things I can't stand.

You will love their chocolate stout that is coming out within the week. My God it's amazing. But their music is either RAWR or folk. Never know which until you get there.

How can you not like classical? Any of Chopin's Nocturnes (I like #2 the best), the third and fourth movements of Beethoven's 9th. I used to listen to classical all the time when I was doing homework back in college. I try to now at work when I want to relax between meetings and whatnot.
I just didn't get into it. Beethoven's Fifth, duh. That's the only one I know by name without hearing. Four Seasons? Right? I could name that one when hearing it. I'm familiar with the tunes, but just not into it.

I never thought in a million years you'd like the Mango Magnifico, yet you are in search of more.I like lighter, fruity beers. Usually they are wheat, saison, or sours. Love stuff with pepper. There is a pepper cider in Tampa I would kill to ship up here, but alas they wouldn't growler it for whatever reason. Stouts, porters, and pretty much anything that tastes hoppy is a no go for me.
Guess I didn't realize the magnifico was classified as a stout, but then again I'm not very knowledgeable about beer. Much to the dismay of the homebrewer in the house.
The Hammerheart Choc Stout is chocolate. All the chocolate. Better than Boulder Shake Porter. By far. Did I mention it's chocolate?

A) it's a stout.
chocolate in liquid form :puke:
Yes I'm weird. Chocolate cake - yes. Chocolate frosting - no. Brownies, fudge, candy/candy bars - yes. Chocolate ice cream, milk, mousse, pudding, syrup - yuck.
Explain that one to me!
I can't. Even the Beer Hating Whioux Fan liked the Shake Porter.

I've got a great collection of Beethoven's Symphonies. Admittedly, the only ones I really listen to are the 5th and 9th.
Every time I hear the end of the 9th, I get flashbacks to the end of Immortal Beloved with him running through the woods to the lake.
EDIT: Not sure I was around at the B1G Mistake TG at the time Cowgirl played it, but just played the Disturbed cover... very well done. Maybe a little harsh toward the end, but it works.

That was pretty much the harshness I noted too, but personally, I think it works. The original wasn't quite like that, but even Paul and Art put a bit more edge in their voices during that portion, just nowhere near as much.
I can definitely see why it would bug you, though.
