I especially love “in a patronizing manner”.

There is quite a bit of language, just a heads up, and the title of the special does sum up a majority of the humor. ;)

So I watched it. I haven’t watched one of his whole sets before but I was a bit disappointed. Some of the shorter clips or roast clips were awesome compared to this special. His laugh is odd too but then he poked fun at himself so I didn’t think anything of it, but it wasn’t as dark as some of the stuff I have seen of his.

I am now REALLY intrigued. I have added some past specials to my list. Thank you.

The first one I would tell you to watch is the roast of Justin Bieber. But any of the clips of his other stuff, he doesn’t laugh and is pretty deadpan which I find hilarious. Certain comedians laughing at their own stuff is awesome (Redd Foxx) but he is more like Daniel Tosh.

Anyway, it’s 6 and 1/2 dozen of the other but I just didn’t find this new one as good as the last stuff I have watched.

Through about 7 eps of the new Cobra Kai season (Netflix streaming):

It's still awesome cheesiness. If they are smart, they end it after one more season. They MIGHT be able to stretch 2 more, but that's pushing it. Still loving the nostalgic ride, though.

I started this, just cannot get into it. There are a lot of comedians I just don't find that funny. John Pinette (RIP) and Christopher Titus are my favorite. I got to see John Pinette at MOA shortly before he died after he had lost a bunch of weight. Was such a funny guy.

I am a prude I guess, just not into constant crude sexual humor or comedians who swear every fifth word. In no surprise, I cannot stand Amy Schumer at all.

Both those guys told stories, maybe that is why I liked them so much? Anyone have any comedians similar to those 2 they can recommend?

Jim Gaffigan is known as the best “clean” comic but Brian Regan is also very good

Pinette and Titus are great. Two different styles, though.

I guess if you can get into "out of left field" humor, Dmitri Martin, Steven Wright, and Mitch Hedberg (who work mostly clean) are some faves of mine.

Lewis Black is the modern George Carlin. I will die on THAT hill.

Carlin is the GOAT, no doubt. I’m a big fan of Anthony Jezelnik but I can’t really remember how close to “clean” he is. I don’t necessarily remember a lot of sex talk. He does talk about some f’d up stuff but he is the king of delivery.

AJ is about as blue as blue can be, he just doesn't necessarily use cuss words. ;) Subtle but not subtle difference.

Death To 2020 (and the followup Death To 2021) (Netflix streaming)

Snarky recap of the years, real footage mixed with comedians. I guess it's like the Daily Show but harsher. Best comparison I can come up with. I thought it was good stuff.

Untold: Crime & Penalties (Netflix)

Heard this documentary mentioned during a Russo podcast interview with Mike Rupp and it was fascinating. It's about the Danbury Trashers that joined the UHL in 2004 after being bought by mobster James Galante as a present to his 17-year-old son who he makes President and GM. Imagine The Sopranos if Tony bought a hockey team and gave it to AJ and he runs it like Slap Shot. Rupp joins the team during the NHL lockout season of 2005. I didn't know anything about this story...definitely worth the watch.

The Sopranos were allegedly based on this family, at least partially. Shock :)

Watched his two earlier specials on Netflix tonight. Not as much laughing at his own stuff, which is good, but I'd say same level of offensiveness of jokes. Some you saw coming a mile away, others, you are cringing just a bit as you laugh your arse off.

Added, case in point, Exhibit A, the only exhibit needed for this discussion: watch "The Aristocrats" documentary, AND/OR and form of the joke (the latter is widely available on line, in many forms). There's a litmus test, for sure! :D

Anyone watch that 4-part BTK documentary on AMC last weekend? Man... even by serial killer standards, he is one sick dude. Scary to think he probably would still be free if he had just laid low and not tried to play "catch me if you can" games with the police and media. His arrogance is the only reason he got caught.

A lot of profilers claim part of them wants to be caught. They get additional satisfaction in showing you how they did it and got away with it. Pretty messed up.

My wife watches “This Is Us.” Every minute of every episode is 2-4 people in a dimly lit room having a serious conversation.

Holy crap it is so depressing. I can’t stand this show.

LoL I agree! For TV I either want to laugh or have lots of action. Give me Young Sheldon or something like GoT. I don’t need a therapy session.

So it's a soap opera? My wife likes it, too, and I have sat in on a couple of early episodes but could not do it.

Essentially yes, but you can’t tune in after missing 20 episodes and still be up to speed. It’s also on its last season and I don’t know how they could tie up all the storylines and not make it watered down.

Started watching "Queen Of The South" from the very start, again, since the last season is PROJECTED to hit Netflix in April.

Teresa flees Mexico after her drug-runner boyfriend is murdered. Settling in Dallas she looks to become the country's reigning drug smuggler and to avenge her lover's murder.

Based on the book, and rather interesting, since women are NOT known as cartel leaders...great series, and rather racy for a USA show (I'd expect this on FX or something). Alice Braga (she was also in I Am Legend and Predators) is perfect for the role, full range of emotion in the messed up life she is living in. Highly recommend the show.

Netflix is releasing season 4 of Ozark. I was hooked season 1, barely got through season 2, and haven’t looked at 3. I was amazed they got season 3 made. Anyone recommend it or watching it?

I found season two so beyond believable I didn’t care what happened to the characters anymore. It was a mash up of dramas that didn’t seem to relate and the writers randomly made up each week. This could describe other shows I like but for some reason this one annoyed me.

I thought each season was watchable, but I agree that it's been on a linear decline. I think some of these shows are just a rehash of the same theme season after season. Billions, for example, is always about how Chuck is going to sink Bobby Axlerod, no matter the personal cost. They really need to add new plot elements to make it more interesting and entertaining. Ozark is the same kind of show.

Has anyone seen the series ‘The Chosen’? Only 16 episodes since Dec. 2017. From what I understand they make episodes as they have funding.

I have none personally. Though there's was a cartoon series back in the ‘90s, ‘Life with Louie’ that was actually pretty funny.

I agree. It’s OK but not special. It got a little better in Ep 4 but not close to Mandalorian.

I love the slow burn of Boba. I likening it to how Walter White (Breaking Bad) rose to the top in the flashback scenes, and when we're all caught up, and everything in the past has been told, I can't wait to see how it progresses.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Watching it so far and yes, not as entertaining as the Mandalorian. It's still worth watching, but so far not as good.

We've loved almost all the Marvel series on Disney plus too, especially Wandavision and Loki. Watched 2 episodes of Falcon and Winter Soldier though and stopped watching. Too boring.

When your next struggling to find something to watch, circle back to Falcon. It gets better. WandaVision and Loki are better, but I wasn't bored with it by the end.

Falcon and Winter Soldier was probably my second favorite MCU show released so far TBH.
