Can't speak for corn or soybeans. Though you plant winter wheat after harvest in Sept. and Oct. And in the early spring (late March into April) start planting spring wheat and barley if soil conditions are in the 40's at 2 inches.
Ignorant city dude here, but is it common to plant corn in April? Do yields tend to be higher from seed planted earlier?
It depends on the soil temperature and if the ground is dry. 50 degrees is the common goal to reach. I would say most years I plant corn the last week of April or 1st week of May. I'm a week earlier than normal. The earlier you get the seed in the ground, the longer the growing season and a better yield. But, you also risk that the ground stays cold and the seeds don't germinate on time. The new trend is planting soybeans before corn. I'm still old school and still plant soybeans after corn.

3 weeks post of my wife’s brain surgery to remove a benign tumor on her left optic nerve and crushing her pituitary gland. She’s doing as good as the providers and surgeons can expect. Surgery on Good Friday and home that following Monday. A true answer to prayer from going into surgery and knowing the negative results been a real possibility, but being positive and staying positive. And having such an ‘above & beyond’ positive surgery. The surgeon and his team are very optimistic about her future!!! I can’t thank all the people who have had been supportive. Friends, family and people I don’t know have been supportive, generous and caring. I had nearly 20 different group texts that I would send out day of surgery for updates and days to follow. Thanks to the small handful of GPL’ers that’s been in the loop.
Between the Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota those of us who live in the region have easy access to world class healthcare and it's easy to forget and/or take for granted how fortunate we are....until we need it.

I posted 3 weeks ago of how impressed I'm with M Health. I didn't have 1% of 1% of a compliant. I jokingly said all they have in the hospital to buy from the vending machine is diet or zero for Pepsi products. And Rock Star and Celcius... serious Rock Star and Celcius over regular Pepsi products. It's just as bad as Allina sites.
Very little to no propane in the south metro of Apple Valley, Rosemount and Lakeville. Good for us, we have 3-4 full tanks on hand. Nothing like firing up the BBQ for the first time of year, halfway through grilling you run dry the gas stations are all out.

Charcoal, man. Charcoal. Just saying. Or open fire. 😉

The solar companies carpet bomb our neighborhood with door to door salesmenpersons. I'm 50 years old and have no chance to see a return on investment so I'm annoyed I have to deal with these persistent asses (I think they hire former timeshare salespersons). We have several houses on our block that have recently had solar panels added and two of them have had blue tarps on their roof to cover leaks. I've taken great joy in pointing this out to the smug pricks who insist I am losing out by not going solar.
Today one of those houses is getting their roof replaced and they've taken down all of the solar panels to do it. They're even replacing a good chunk of sheathing. What a process! I'll be curious if they have them reinstalled or just throw in the towel. Likely too invested to throw them out. I have my tub of popcorn out as I watch from my office window.
I don’t get the solar power panels craze either. I see it being more maintenance than your basic asphalt roof. The long term may be cheaper, though the wear and tear on the roof, along with maintenance and the resale value would make think more than twice before doing it.
@gator To me resale has to be an issue. If I am going to install solar panels on my roof I expect to stay in that home for a while to make sure I get some return on that investment. But let’s say 10-15 years down the road I want to sell. Who wants to buy my house with 10-15 year old solar panels and moreso, who is going to buy knowing the risk the roof replacement is near and likely much more expensive?
As I look out the window they had to install a full layer of ice damn underlayment up to the peak.
These poor guys busting their asses on this black roof in the heat….

So very happy to hear about the encouraging news!! Hoping that will continue for you and the family.

Kid#1 just messaged to say he's taken his final exam at UM. Grad ceremony on Thursday at Mecca!
Any recommendations for purchasing a parking spot in advance?
And that is an unfortunate placement of that lady’s left foot…
Unfortunately, I've been there once. Sat at the entrance because it was colder than cold outside. I was waiting for the person who rode with me for the Gopher game to get what they wanted out of the place. Then this person decided to try to take a pee out my passenger window on our way home. I quickly pulled over... lol!!!
I've only been to two naughty bars. 1. The Vu, as a fake bf (with my college roommate, his niece, and her friend; note: we were all about 4 years apart in age). The girls wanted to go. Didn't spend a dime on the dancers.
2. Sugar Daddy's in Sartell. Neat Hat basically hijacked a limo after bar close at the carpet. Walked out of there at dawn. Figured I'd miss a great story if I didn't go. Again, didn't spend a dime (Neat Hat paid all the minimum costs to get it, etc).
Edit: some on here might remember him as "Jane Fonda," as he had 2 names on here.

In college I worked for Erberts and Gerberts in downtown Mpls. as a delivery driver. I would estimate 60% to 70% of our deliveries at night were to all the "gentlemen clubs". There was never a dull moment.

That was a rough day.
That WAS the classic ne'er do gooders: you, me, MNS, and Neat Hat/Fonda.
Also that was night was the origin of "Sweet Caroline/ST CLOUD SUCKS" at the Red Carpet.

In the mid 90’s Shieks gentlemen’s club in Minneapolis I was told was rated 2nd in the nation to some place in Atlanta. If it was true fact I wouldn’t know but I believed it. About four of us had too much money in our pockets one night and 140.00 of mine flew in less than an hour. I’m not sure if it’s there anymore. I got a Shieks t shirt from the girl I’d like to say was free but not really. Hell of a memory though!😂
When I was delivering food to Shieks, some of the girls were regulars in ordering. So I know who they were when I walked in, wave at the bouncers, telling them who I here for and they tell where to go. This one time the gal met me at the front door and she thanked me by name. Some guy waiting go in said, "she knows your name, that is so cool she knows you". I replied pointing at my Erberts and Gerberts saying "I'm the just the sub guy" and walked out.
Btw... does anyone remember a place in the warehouse dist. called 'Night Lights' or maybe 'Nite Lites'. It's been nearly 30 years so my memory is fading... long story short... it was a "whore house". You had to be buzzed in, they had cameras on the inside as you walked up the stairwell and you would enter this common room with a room of gals sitting on couches. They ordered often, 5-10 plus sandwiches at time and tips were beyond good.
