Oh come on Rube it wasn't because of funky boundaries.   ?  It was likely as Karlsson noted which is no big deal my comment was in jest.

It might have been. Either way, I know your comment was in jest. 😛 However, there are some funky boundaries. Both can be true. 😉

Most of Woodbury, Cottage Grove, St. Paul Park, Newport, Denmark Township are in the same district, 833.  There are parts of Woodbury in the Stillwater district and another small chunk in the NSP/Maplewood/Oakdale district and there may be some parts of Cottage Grove and/or Denmark Township in Hastings.  Not 100% on the latter.

Crystal/New Hope too. I forget which has the one city block surrounded by the other city... 😀

Crystal.  I live on that block.

The worst area is Brooklyn Center, New Hope, Crystal, and the rest of that mess.  My brother in law grew up in BC and is still unsure where some of those boundaries are.  He went to Robbinsdale but within a few streets in different directions kids went to Park Center or Brooklyn Center schools and maybe another one I can't recall.

The subdivision right behind ours in in Osseo schools and we are in Robbinsdale.  There’s no main road dividing it or anything, but it’s at least double the distance to the nearest school in that district.  It’s really weird

That is not uncommon.  Sunny Hollow was an elementary school in my neighborhood 3 blocks from my old elementary school.  For most of my youth it was leased to Osseo Schools cause they needed it more than Robbinsdale did.  Now it is back in the district as the Spanish Immersion School.

Even though the kids are now on flight back to the U.S. it was the best of times having them visit here the past 3 weeks.  I am forever thankful that the 4 of us truly enjoy spending time together and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

This barn along with house (not in pic) is on the eastside of East Glacier on Hwy 2. Driven past this 100s of time.  Always one of my favorite views.  You're on Hwy coming from Browning and pop over this hill and as you're approaching the bridge to cross over the 2 Medicine River and enter East Glacier. The mountains and Glacier Nat'l Park just jump out at you. As a kid and even as an adult, I always told myself this property in the pic would be such a fun place to grow up as a kid and live as an adult... what a view.  Been on that train trestle as well.

Substituting "Eddie Lack" for "Cadillac" in songs

  • Eddie Lack, Eddie Lack, long and dark, shiny and black
  • In the back of my Eddie Lack
  • We're driving Eddie Lacks in our dreams
  • Honey I just wonder what you do there in the back of your pink Eddie Lack

GPL/Jup's BIG standings compared to CHN conference standings. Jup's version is quick and easy to see. CHN's is very confusing.

In a grind your gears/simple pleasure (hopefully) combo platter someone stole my CC # and made 4 back-to-back purchases via FB to the tune of $5,700 before I was able to call my bank and say, "Wtf?".

They suspended the account at that point and issued a replacement, but they told me their process was to let the transactions post and then they will investigate.  Trust me when I say I will no longer be using their CC.

The only reason I had is that my payroll is automatically deposited into this bank so I figured it would be convenient to have a CC with the same for obvious reasons.  No fees, a very low Int Rate and a nice points program seemed to be enough.  Plus no currency exchange fees vs. if I use my Wells CC (Amex is pretty much useless here outside of staying at a hotel but if I do use my Amex internationally I never pay an exchange fee).

As of today 2 of the 4 have been reversed which leads me to believe the other 2 will also follow suit, and they've promised me if any interest was applied that will also be removed.  So in the end it should all be square but the process to get here imho was unacceptable. I know for a fact if this happened with my Amex most likely none of the 4 would have been allowed in the 1st place, or at least as soon as I called they would never have been allowed to post.

FYI I've never purchased anything via FB Marketplace and I doubt I'll ever be told the source of the theft.

Whatever CC you use, I'm glad I don't have that one. Mine...got hacked a couple years ago, apparently I spent $1200 at J Crew and other places WAY out of my pattern. They called immediately and asked what my last purchase was. Told them, and they said, "Ok, we're cancelling EVERYTHING after that, the lack of pattern is THAT obvious."

We have had a credit card number get stolen probably once every 1 or 2 years the last 10 years.  The bank always catches it right away.  It's a pain though if you have stuff set up on auto pay with your credit card.

Had my ID stolen many years ago. It was a pain in the butt. He had a drivers license, Social Security card, and a job under my name in California. The job even had the same name as the current place I’ve been working at for the last 25 years. Just he added another word to the end of the company. It took several months to clear my record and get the creditors from stop calling me. I know the gentleman that runs the Apple Valley DMV and he helped me out. He was surprised and said he did a good job getting a fake Mn. Driver’s License. Got proof that I wasn’t him… He was a 5’11”, 300 pound black guy. I’m a 5’11” 200 pound white dude.

My bank has really upped it's game in the last month or two. I've had them text msg. and call me on two separate occurrences asking if the charges were legit. The first time, I thought it was a scammer at first and my bank froze my account with limited activity until I called and let them know the charges were true. And just here this past weekend I got a msg. about a charge which I quickly replied letting them know I knew about it.

After my ID was stolen years ago, I set my account with some extra security features.  It's a extra hassle at times when your at the bank and trying to do transactions. Thought it's worth it in the long run and dealing with the mess of your ID being stolen. Though since I got married and my wife and I have several accounts together.  I think all those extra security features are no longer popping up.  But at least they are calling me with suspicious charges.

The weird thing is they texted me about the purchases, but even though I called right away their policy was to let them go through.  Like I said 2 of the 4 are now reversed which would leads me to believe the other 2 will also be backed off. So likely good news in the end but a frustrating process to get there.

AmEx's anti-fraud game is spectacular, they sniff out anything hinky wicked quick.

Our Target Mastercard (combo Target Red Card & Mastercard) is very good, too, and our go to card if/when we travel internationally since it's a chip & PIN.  Worked great for us in Europe and Asia especially when getting fuel or using at a toll booth where a non chip & PIN card takes longer or simply does not work.

Pretty sure I've mentioned it here before, but I had a couple times where I wouldn't just get an e-mail, I'd get a text asking me to call in because they detected something.  I like the "please call us" text over just an incoming call, because I can cross-reference the number they give against the card to be sure I'm calling Amex, not some scammer.

And then the next day or the day after, I'd have my new card.

B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

I love this.  Now can some one tell me why the fun-haters at Mariucci insist the bears have to be in an “approved” plastic bag before they can be thrown?  The U did a bear toss in Dec, all the bears thrown were stuck inside an ugly plastic bag you had to pick up at the promo booth.  Bears not in bags would be rejected. ? It certainly made it less fun to watch.

Some of the bears sit on shelves and one is bigger than 2 of the 3 kids.  The funny part is some of them have the same names.  Yogi 1, Yogi 2, Boo-Boo 1, 2 and 3, Pinky 1,2 and 3, Brown Bear, Light Brown Bear... Haven't gotten into squashmellows... that I know of... lol!!!

I had several stuffed animals as a kid but only recall one bear, his name was booger-bear.  No I don’t know why. ?

How many seats does the Hershey arena hold? Each person would have to bring half a dozen bears to make 67k - unless they also do a drop off for the public?

@kelly-red I wondered the same thing about the bags.  I suppose just wanting to keep things clean as I imagine many of the kids in hospitals the bears may go to have poor immune systems. ?‍♀️

@cowgirl

I had a pink stuffed rabbit with the very creative name of Bunny.?

He, yes it was a he despite the pink fur, was my main go to cuddle.

His ear wires broke and had to be pulled out.  I loved him anyway.

His button nose and one eye came off.  I loved him anyway.

His stuffing flattened and his fur got matted.  He was loved.

I bawled when my mom insisted on washing him because “he’ll drowned”.

I still have Bunny.  He is the ugliest toy, gray and mis-shaped.  I’ll never get rid of him.

Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

Our house is very near themed. We have pictures and art work of bears. Over 50 Big Sky Bears by Jeff Fleming (big & small). Look up his work, it’s fun. The kids love it and have fun with it. So why not bears for stuffed animals!!!

I was at a London Knights game for a teddy bear toss. No idea how many thousands rained down but I know the bad 2-3 pickups on the ice for collection purposes and it probably delayed the game 39 minutes. It was pretty cool.

I have no idea why but I find LeRoy and LeRoy Behind the Camera funnier than hell.

The Gophers are putting on a little training clinic today for Blaine Youth hockey where several players will be on ice and leading the skills.  My younger kid will be going.  I assume Bryce will be there. I'll be curious what other players attend.

Should be fun for the kids.
