The Internet has not disappointed me today with all the Bernie Sanders mitten memes

There’s so many good ones but my favorites are the Metallica Ride The Lightning album cover and the Weekend At Bernies guys.

My wife gets emails from the yarn shop in Stillwater and they are already offering a pattern and yarn to make the mittens.

Someone is already selling the Bernie Chair (sitting next to a cooler with beer) glass. The memes have all been awesome.

The ones I've most enjoyed are the ones of him sitting in the middle of the Jedi Council, the one where he's photographed with FDR and Churchill, and the video of Demi Moore in the pottery scene in Ghost with him as Swayze.

The one where he was photoshopped into Sharon Stone's legs in the famous Basic Instinct scene was a little disturbing though.

I guess I don't get why that's an annoyance. Can't hear 'em anyway, the volume is too low. I just stand there and pump my gas, and don't pay attention to anything else.

Of you tap one of the buttons on the upper right of the screen it’ll mute the video.

Kwik Trip has the same thing but only they have the decency to point out the mute option.

You’re lucky. The stations I frequent (usually holiday) have them blaring. And there’s an echo from hearing the same thing blaring from multiple pumps. So muting one won’t help a bit.

Did some cleaning out of storage on Sat, came across some old comics (1990s or so). Decided to google some values....and um, Shock

Weird stuff, like Eastman And Laird's TMNT (which is kinda before THAT hit big), some offshoot comics like Morbius and some unauthorized Rock'N'Roll biographies (I have a Prince one that is going for $50- Shock ), I bought it for $2. Shock

I'm so gonna cash in as much as I can. I haven't even paid attention to what I had in this area in about 15 years or so.

Pork with onions and orange juice in the crockpot. Pulled pork sandwiches with slaw for dinner. The house smells delicious.

What have I got? I got no snacks and I got no respect.

Recipe? I am sure it can’t be difficult or maybe one at all, but I watched someone use OJ on a BBQ show just today and I assume the acidic character and mild sweetness can only bring more joy to pulled pork! I think I have 6 butts in my freezer still from this fall when they were on sale for $1.29/lb.

To get true pulled pork, you need a shoulder (Boston butt) but I have pulled other pork roasts too but not enough fat or meat muscles to be good.

2 lbs pork butt, as mentioned you need the fat

1 sweet onion, chopped

1 c OJ

1/2 c water

2 T minced garlic

1 T Dijon mustard

Place pork in crockpot fat side down. Add OJ and water. Mix garlic and mustard together, then spread on pork. Add onions. Cook on low 6-8 hrs.

Remove pork and shred with fork, return to pot. There’s still a lot of liquid, using a slotted spoon dish out pork/onion mix and put on big sandwich buns. I like onion buns. You can add BBQ sauce on top if you wish.

What have I got? I got no snacks and I got no respect.

I thought pork shoulder and butts were similar, but apparently not after doing some research. For pulled pork like above, likely need a butt not a shoulder.

You are right, I fixed my recipe. I used a butt, not a shoulder.

A pork shoulder is comprised of the butt where pulled pork comes from and the shank where ham comes from. That doesn't mean you can't get pulled pork from the shank. Professional BBQ'rs use the whole shoulders in competition and take meat from both muscles for their boxes. In grocery stores here, we pretty much only see cured ham from the shank..

Finally getting my Bills Mafia hoodie. Shipping was no problem, but the order processing took a week. Either way, I got it, and I'm very happy!

Meh. I had enough jerseys to wear for the games (including reg season, as they had a seed to play for), and was going to keep that streak going. Lesser knowns to greats, as they advanced. I just wanted one.

To time it right, I was going, in order: Riemersma, Paup, B Smith, Flutie, and the finale would have been Kelly.

My parents grew up in Eveleth, and were just a few years behind Mayasich in school. My mother made the trip to the HS tournament at least once. Claims she had a lot of fun! The Hippodrome is so iconic. I like the "Home of Hockey Legends". At one point, half of the starting goalies in the NHL were from Eveleth.

At least interest rates are so good right now it lessens the impact a bit. 5.4% (our rate when we moved in our house) seems like eons ago

Having the rink to myself! Finally a time when there wasn’t a throng of kids (can’t imagine why?) ?

Haven’t skated since before the recent shutdown. Probably lasted an hour before the wind really picked up. Felt awesome to dust off the skates!

Meeting up with a couple friends I haven't seen in months, due to the Rona. We all just happened to plan on stopping by Back Channel Brewing today, and decided to coordinate and meet at the same time for a brew. Bonus: 1/2 price T-shirts (in all sizes) on the clearance rack.

When your old car starts fine in -12 degree weather. It's certainly never a guarantee, but the old Subie still runs well in harsh conditions like these. its also just fun in icy/snowy weather to have a manual and AWD.

There have been countless outstanding supporting roles on TV shows over the years but for me Angel Martin will always be the role against all others are measured.
