- The random hugs and kisses and "I love you Jeremy" from all 3 three.

Makes this whole new life for me A LOT more appreciated!!!

Have you taken the youngest to a Home Depot build it kids workshop yet? I’d assume they will start those up again soon if they haven’t already but my daughter enjoyed going to build something there

I’ve taken the middle and youngest and they have brought home kits to make at home.

Took my 4 year old daughter to Valleyfair Sunday afternoon, pretty much against my wife's wishes, oh well, and she had an absolute blast!! Even wanted to go on Wild Thing even though she is too short - "Look how fast that one is Daddy, lets go on that!" She is going to share her Dad's need for speed!!

We had one minor moment, we waited for Wild Mouse and she kept telling me how excited she was to "Ride a real roller coaster." But the guy said she was too short when we got up there. She was right at the mark for it, and he said she had big shoes on so she was too short. Walking away she just started bawling and said that's not fair, I waited for my turn daddy. So I went a bought her a largest Ice cream dish I could find. Its my fault, we measured at home and I told her she was tall enough and got her excited for it. I guess that made up for it because I got a "Daddy you're the best" and a big hug from a happy kid as we left. Which was WAY better than watching the Vikings game.

We've been holding off planning things and doing much of anything given the current situation. But it helped me realize she is only going to be this age for a short period of time, and soon she won't "believe" anymore. So today I am booking a trip to Walt Disney World for next Spring, I need to take her while she still thinks it is actually Rapunzel waving at her. Reading the posts above me also reinforces how quickly that time will come.

Time to go max out a credit card or two.

Sounds like I may as well shred my Dad of the weekend award submission :)

WDW is lot more fun when you can avoid Spring Break because even a few weeks earlier or later means fewer crowds. I’d highly recommend buying a subscription to TouringPlans to help plan your trip. Feel free to PM if you want any tips…we took my daughter at 5 years old During SpringBreak and it was chaos but still lots of fun. I think we are going next August just before school starts…and yes I’m kw how hot it will be

A lot of my friends who love Disney World and Disney Land really like this website:

That site is good. Touring Plans let’s you chart out a plan of attack by park based on long term attendance data. It works incredibly well and makes the recommendations as to things you should fast pass and what you should not.

Thanks for the offers Kelly Red and davescharf , we have been planning on the periphery for awhile. We just always found reasons to push it off; wait until she is a bit older, wait until kid #2 is older... etc. We used to be very much Disney people and before kids went just about every other year (yes, were those weird people). However as it has become more and more expensive and they continue to make cuts we have gravitated away from WDW with our vacation dollars. We will still go, just nowhere near as much.

FYI, FastPass is dead. There is Genie+ w/ Lightning Lane now (paid add-on) and an option to purchase a few rides individually. Should be launching very soon.

We did sign up for Touring plans, will be interesting to see how this new stuff affects that, and Genie+ claims to make recommendations based on wait times and things similar to what Touring Plans has offered for years.

We are renting DVC points and found a week at Boardwalk in late April. Hopefully a nice sweet spot after spring break, but before the heavy crowds and extreme heat of summer.

We live close to our local high school and can hear the fans cheering. It’s been quite a game from what we hear. Pretty constant crowd eruptions for quite a while.

Everyone is getting their money’s worth.

Ditto here. Many times on a fall Friday night, I've had a cigar on my balcony, so I can listen to the Hopkins HS band play.

Someone in our neighborhood is apparently turning 40. (According to the DJ blasting music all evening.) Based on the song selection I thought it had to be an 80’s kid’s party. ?

If it's a certain restaurant owner, I'm gonna laugh my arse off.

I know it's not, but that would be funny!

No, it was not. Funny thing is there were no lights on or cars on the street so I’m not sure which house it was, but the speakers were aimed directly at our house (backyard) so I had some tunes to watch the twins game by.

I'm really close to St. Louis Park HS but the wind is usually blowing the other way.

Actually now that I think about it I don't think they have a marching band.

Most schools won't pay for it nowadays. Even twenty years ago the high school marching band I was in was primarily funded by the families of the kids in it.

Being able to hear the cheers and final celebration song from the Loons game about 10-15 seconds before it happens on TV. Good stuff.

Volunteered to pour beer/take orders for a local brewery's Oktoberfest today, pulled a double shift (10 hours). Afterwards, one of the owner's wife came by to personally say I was on point as for customer service/etc. "The lines were long, sure, but you were 3-4 orders ahead and setting up your pourer, or pouring yourself, and that line MOVED."

I was grateful and humbled by the compliment. I thought I just did okay. That compliment really meant a ton.

Place your bets on who gets the 1 millionth post?

My guess is it starts with the 18th letter of the alphabet and rhymes with boob. LoL

When I used to play coed softball (rarely) in Apple Valley on Friday nights we'd hear the Eastview band and fans loud and clear on calm nights. Their stadium is probably half a mile from the softball complex.

My dad's sister and her husband are from southern Texas. And when they come to visit my folks at the cabin, if the temp is below 80°... they are freezing.

When we lived in Malaysia, we had a trip to the tea plantation hill stations in Kerela. It was in the low 50s and I don’t think I’ve ever felt colder. And I grew up in Anchorage and did my first year of college in Fairbanks ?

I do love this time of year. While summer is my favorite, in fall, the air seems crisper, I hear the HS band playing here and there nearby, etc.

It's also the time of year, you have no idea what to dress for. Light jacket in the morning/T-shirt in the afternoon? Is it really hoodie season already? Crap, I over-dressed so much!

My wife and I have talked about when we retire what parts of the year do we want to spend in MN, what parts in Thailand what parts elsewhere.

I love a MN summer as in ways anyone that's never lived in a cold clime can appreciate since winter can be so brutal. But fall is my favorite time of the year and I said our time in MN each year must include Sep-Oct. Football starts, the leaves change color, there are homecomings to attend, the occasional warm days feel so invigorating, Oktoberfest, putting on a hooded sweatshirt but also sometimes wearing shorts, Halloween, our family just happens to have several fall birthdays, etc. It's wonderful.

But yeah 2 days ago I went for a drive and it was 67 outside so I had the sunroof down but was wearing pants and long sleeves. Got home and felt hot so I put on shorts. Then I felt cold. It's maddening yet enjoyable at the same time. LoL

North Dakota woman doesn't like the location of Deer Crossing signs... LoL LoL LoL

I'm an engineer who designs roadways. We always have difficulty getting deer to cross in a safe way including trying to get deer to look both ways before crossing. We are in the process of studying adding deer crossing traffic signals but we are struggling to get deer to push the pedestrian button to get the walk time. Wink :biggrin2:

She's not very complicated.

Wonder if it's the same woman who was upset the eclipse was scheduled on a school day?

I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
