Mike Mayasich's girlfriend came up to me a Red Shed in Madison while I was wearing my 50s era bumblebee with 8 on it to get a pic with him to send to John. Apparently I made John's weekend when they sent him that pic.

I saw Jup at the Buffalo Wild Wings near Mariucci once.
I got sieved by Jup at a Jefferson vs. Apple Valley high school game once when I dropped my cell phone under the bleachers. I didn't know it was him until later when I posted about it on here lol
Two Rivers Lodge in Prescott, WI. (yes wisconSIN). Top 5 restaurant I've been to for everything from food, ambiance, price and staff. The atmosphere was very mountainous, made me feel like I was back in northwest Montana at a mountain lodge or even a ski resort. Even my wife was very impressed. Only negative besides being in wisconSIN, about 25 miles from our house.

Have to try that one sometime. When we do a “drive a ways for breakfast” we often hit The Kitchen Table in Prescott, which, from the map, looks to be about a 150 foot walk from the place you mentioned.
Edit: never mind, I messed up on the name of the place you mentioned
People must be getting the late night munchies... I've noticed in the last couple of weeks, just not Raising Cane's, which always has a line. Almost every fast food restaurant in the Rosemount/Apple Valley area have lines. Solid lines from 7 to 10 cars. Some of the lines can be to staffing and lobbies being closed. Just seems crazy what I've noticed recently.

A friend and I went to Mary’s Christmas Palace aka Psycho Suzies at the holidays. OMG! The over the top fabulous tackiness and weirdness was perfect. Hilarious drinks and menu items. I had a tequila slushie with edible glitter that came in a souvenir snow globe glass. We ate Fried Baby Elves (fried artichokes), cheese fondue and Elf-A-Males (smokies wrapped in bacon). The place was wall to wall. Their table reservations are sold out through January but you can risk bar only walk up. We were there when they opened at 4:00 and got the last two bar stools.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.
Going to Wiederholt's Supper Club in Miesville for dinner on New Year's Eve. Went to King's in Miesville last year and dessert at Wiederholt's. You can never go wrong at King's. The dessert at Wiederholt's was ok, but all the food that was coming on carts looked off the charts good.

Like hearing about everyone’s great experiences. I wish I would have checked here first but made the mistake of going to the Maple Grove Village Inn (granite city but no), for brunch. No go again. Nothing was fresh looking. Even the Bloody Mary’s bacon and cheese on toothpicks was hard and dark in the edges from sitting out, bacon was as bad, looked old and was gray, our plates took an hour to get which was ok, we knew it was busy. But when the food came out some looked like it had been waiting an hour, eggs Benedict with hardened cheese sauce, biscuits and gravy with hardened gravy from sitting out probably under a heat lamp. I had a prime rib sandwich that turned out to be shaved beef, not pieces of prime rib. How can you screw up the au jus? It was brown thickened goo, not beef au jus. I like the Hardee’s shaved beef sandwich which would have been better, and not for $16.99.
There has to be a decent restaurant in maple grove. I’ve eaten at a village inn before and it was great, this was awful.

Red Stone shares the parking lot Granite City and is decent. I am sad to hear about Granite City. They used to have good food, but I haven't been there is a while.
Pittsburgh Blue is good. Owned by Manny's. Not Manny's level, but has a similar menu and feel.
Biaggi's (I haven't been there in a while but it was very good the few times I went)
Brick and Bourbon (great drinks and good food). I very much enjoy the patio when it's warm.
Crave (never been, but it usually gets decent reviews)
And some lesser chains with good food (Punch Pizza, Portillos, PF Changs, Benihana).
I've had good food at all of these places except Crave, which I don't go to because I don't eat seafood.
There is also a newer place called Bonchon which I haven't tried. They apparently are a Korean fried chicken place....but have more than fried chicken.

Anyone try the Rodizio Grill? Im curious if it is worth the price.
Red Stone
I used to frequent the Red Stone in Minnetonka A LOT back in the day. I just checked their menu out. It seems to have gotten smaller, but mostly the same. Though I like simple and small menus. I feel a smaller menu and less choices, you tend to have better prepared food.

3 Square in Maple Grove is solid
My favorite casual restaurant in the NW Metro is Maynard’s in Rogers. I’ve ALWAYS had a good meal there (without exception) during the past decade + ?
I am very surprised the place is still open. I agree that the food is very good. I've eaten there maybe a dozen, but not for a looong time. The location is just odd enough to be a bit of a pain to get to and back when I was eating there it wasn't ever very busy. I am pleasantly surprised they made it through COVID and through the increased competition of all the restaurants that have opened more recently. Lots of competition in Maple Grove.Like hearing about everyone’s great experiences. They had a breakfast burrito on the menu back in the day that I had to get every time I ate there.
We went to 3 Squares more during the pandemic than before it. They had a very robust takeout business and were one of the few places we were going that had our order done correctly and on-time every time we went. I couldn't say the same for a lot of other places.
Bonchon isn't anything special in my opinion. The Rock Elm up off Maple Grove Parkway should be pretty good. We've only been once but used to go to the Plymouth one regularly.
Outside of a couple places Maple Grove has a bunch of 'meh' places to eat.

Favorite casual restaurant in the northern metro, RJ Riches in Mounds View. Always a good meal and very large portions. Use to go there often when I lived in downtown Mpls. Now that I'm in the southern suburbs and post pandemic, I haven't been there.

It has that cigarettes and mismatched pleather feel to it. But they make bank on to go orders. I spent 30 min waiting at the cashier to pay because it was non stop phone call interruptions.

Much like Crispy Crème.
First time I tried Crispy Crème was during fall break in '97. Two of my buddies and I took some extra some from college and went to Florida for a week. We were in Pensacola driving and my buddy almost wrecked his car trying to get into the Crispy Crème parking lot. My other buddy and I were like "what the heck". He ran in came out with a dozen donuts and telling us we had to try. Try were good, but not great. And not worth knocking your car out of alignment for... lol. Even when the one opened in Maple Grove. Some one stood in line for like a week to be the first person. Not worth it in my opinion. Again, they are good, but not great. Yes they are better when they are fresh and hot. But most stuff is good fresh and hot.

True. Though it adds to the character and flavor. Some of the best meals I've eaten are out of the old cast iron skillet. It has years and years of wear and use. Just like a grill, the more wear, use and age... they food just has that better taste.

For a fast food burger In-N-Out is pretty good.
For me a big part of it is sitting outside eating a burger in 70-80 degree weather knowing it's miserable in the Twin Cities. That really elevates the burger. ?

Good to hear. Even though it says Burnsville and Burnsville is the next suburb over. I hate driving in Burnsvegas on 42 from just before 35 exits, past the mall and almost for another 2-3 miles. It's horribly busy all the time.

The Steak and Ale in Bloomington did become a Bennigans (I worked at the Saint Louis Park Bennigans and they were part of our franchise group) but I think they opened another one.

Was this in Bloomington? Did the Steak & Ale change to a Bennigan’s and like a Cowboy Jack's?!?!?!
Steak and Ale for sure Cowboy Jacks but thought the Bennigans property was where Lucky 13 is now...not sure though.

Was that Bennigan's also a Steak and Ale at one time? I remember a Steak and Ale off of 394 near Fuddruckers's or Chili's.
