out of curiosity, are any of these actually real for sale items, or just concept or AI generated images?

The son of Case dealership got back to me and said dad would probably play with it more then display it!!!
We both graduated the same year in ‘94 but from rival school. One year in football he hit the harshest I’ve ever been hit. Knocked my helmet off and both ear pads snapped off… Harder then the hit that knocked me out and had ems come on the field to take me to the hospital… though I held onto the ball… lol!!!
That’s one thing about concussions. Once you get your first, they seem easier to get.

Is there something in particular you want or looking for?!?!?!
Nothing I’m looking for but out of curiosity I did google a couple of them and didn’t find anything sanctioned by Lego. Makes me think these are fake and a scam.
I know you're not on FB or other media, but just like everything else, there are Lego groups out there that buy/sell/trade parts/sets/etc. Maybe search for some sort of group like that.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
I did images searches for these - they are from scammers and not even LEGO products. One only has to look closely at any of the images Gator posted to see they are AI generated (look at the “words” in any of them). The website is localsweaterbrand for the tool set one and something like welocalbrandhoodie for the Jeep ones.
Don’t fall for it @gator! I guarantee you these are not real and just a foreign scam to steal your money!!
They might actually sell you some toy pieces that look sort of vaguely like Lego
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

I envision this:
🤣
I wouldn’t buy they unless they were state side and had legitimate feedback. There are other ones that I’ve seen that were state side and had good positive feedback. Most of these spinoffs come from China and yes, they are not official LEGO’s. We’ve bought the spinoff a couple times for our son ofc of Amazon. They are a fraction of the cost of real Legos. You can get 3 spinoff kits for the price of one Lego kit. The spinoffs are much like the spinoff jerseys people buy. Plus the spinoffs don’t work with real Legos.

Would like to see today’s numbers at the State Fair in the coming days… The fair was packed at 10am. It just kept on getting more and more and more packed and we left at 2:30pm

Based on the very comfortable temperatures forecast for the next week, attendance should be near record level.Would like to see today’s numbers at the State Fair in the coming days… The fair was packed at 10am. It just kept on getting more and more and more packed and we left at 2:30pm
As for weather, here's interesting stats since 1885...
Number of days the highs were in the 50s or 60s: 223
Number of days the highs were over 90°: 114

A roommate of mine from college has a booth at the fair and even the Renaissance Fair selling homemade candy. I have never asked him how much he makes. Though Monday night we met off the State Fair grounds so I could pick up an item I had made at the fair and buy some more of his candy. We got talking about how much the fair rakes in from admission to fees. Food vendors have to pay a daily fee of 15% of their daily total sales, which I knew about for years. Since he sells candy, it's not a food item and he just has to rent his spot. He slipped and told me how much he would have to pay if he was an actual food item. He's doing a pretty good job just selling candy. And he told me years ago, he makes way more money at the Renaissance Fair. It's hard work and long days at the fair, but if you can ever come up with that idea of a food item and get in... you'll make a pretty paycheck.

I've heard some restaurants that are open year round and also a booth can make as much of a 1/3 of their total annual income from the fair alone.

If so it can only be possible if the fair was previously scheduled for different dates.
Prior to this year, every record setting attendance day occurred in 2018, 2019, or 2024 EXCEPT the first Sunday. That record was set in 1994 and still stands.
I worked at a very popular food booth for three state fairs. The first 2 years I worked there they only took cash. They took in about 100K a day. They did not have an armored car service the first year so one employee had the job of putting a boatload of cash in their backpack and head to the bank.

I am not doubting the numbers, but I would guess back in the early days the state fair was held in late September vs Late August. It seems rare to have days with highs in the 60s for the state fair, much less 50s.
I was hoping a lifelong Minnesotan would chime in and say something on that order. Saying use to be in late summer or early fall.

That was my freshmen year in college that first Sunday of the fair. And a handful of us on my floor went.

Both of the boys have gone twice already - once in their shared circle of friends and once each with others. The kids are alright.

Not late September, but earlier in September sometimes.
Quick History of the Minnesota State Fair
The Minnesota State Fair has been held at its current site since 1885. Before that it was held at a variety of locations including Fort Snelling. There were some years when the Fair was not held because of war, disease, or for logistical reasons. These years are: 1861 (Civil War), 1862 (Civil and Indian War), 1893 (Columbian Exposition), 1945 (fuel shortage because of WWII), and 1946 (outbreak of Polio.) In 2020 the fair was not held due to COVID 19.
Beginning in 1975, the fair has a 12-day run each year ending with Labor Day. Thus, since 1975, the Fair begins two Thursdays before Labor Day. Before 1975, the Fair was held for shorter durations (eleven days from 1972 to 1974, ten days from 1939 to 1971, eight days from 1919 to 1938 and six days from 1885 to 1918).
The 2025 Minnesota State Fair runs from August 21-Sepember 1.
Temperature
Although a wide variety of weather has greeted Fair-goers over the years, it's the late-summer heat waves that are perhaps most memorable. By far the highest temperature in the Fair's history was 104 degrees F, on September 10, 1931. In fact, the second-highest temperature ever recorded during the Fair was 99 F, notched the same year but two days earlier. Not surprisingly, the 1931 Fair is the current record-holder for high temperatures, averaging 92.6 F, which is 2.7 F higher than the runner-up (1922). It is worth noting that the 1931 Fair ran eight days, from September 5-12, whereas the Fair currently runs 12 days, making it less likely to sustain such high temperatures over that longer period. On the other hand, 1931's record is even more impressive considering that the entire Fair took place during September, when extremes of heat become increasing rare.
Recent steamy State Fair conditions were experienced during 2013, which was the third warmest on record and also had a record six days with 90-degree high temperatures. 2012 was quite warm as well, with an average daily maximum temperature of 87.1 degrees. Nine consecutive State Fairs, however, from 2014 through 2022, generally lacked hot weather, with no 90-degree high temperatures recorded in any of those years. There wasn't even an 80 degree maximum temperature in 2019.
The coolest Minnesota State Fair was during the six-day run of the Fair from September 5-10 1898 with an average maximum temperature of 64.2 degrees. The coldest maximum temperature for the Fair is 52 degrees on September 7, 1911, and the coldest minimum temperature is 33 degrees on September 13, 1890. The coolest Fair morning in recent years was a chilly 36 degrees on September 1, 1974.
Why is it the NCAA football and the NFL play early day games and they have all the lights around the stadium on? It’s a waist of energy
Aloha!
Despite the pretty good weather, the State Fair will not break an all time attendance record this year. It has not helped that only a few of the grandstand acts have drawn over 10k. Only Old Dominion sold out (14,118), Melissa Etheridge and Indigo Girls had 13,929 and Atmosphere and Friends had 12,306. Darryl Hall only had 3,217, and Happy Together had 4,626. By contrast, I was at Jacks Bash 3 at SDSU in Brookings on Thursday night and there was over 22k there with Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett and Ty Meyers. Needless to say the beer lines were loooonnnggg.

I believe I read that Def Leppard had about 9K. Basically a casino crowd at best.

For a band 35 years after their peak not bad even if the promoters were expecting more

The price for the tix may have kept a few away as well.
Tickets ranged from $77-$292 per seat and was the highest ever for a State Fair show.
The band sold the first 10 rows as VIP packages that included a laminate and $50 online merch credit for $437.
Wowzers.

Didn't have to be Wonder bread bags. 🤣
For whatever reason that reminds me of the Leroy bit from the Best of KQ CD:
"Not necessarily an eagle, it's got wings."

The eye in the sky or big brother is watching you is becoming more true each and every day. The CEO and his coworkers mistress at a Coldplay concert, the man taking a hat away from a kid at the US Open and now a woman demanding a baseball back from a kid at a Phillies/Marlins game. All these people were identified and named within hours.

It's just bored people with smartphones that have to document everything. 😉 (in general, this is indeed the case).

None of the examples were caught with a cell phone camera…
I said in general. Hence the wink and side commentary. Gator's post seemed a little too 1984 for me.

I agree with this, but I saw comments in one IG post where people were saying the woman with the baseball needed to have her life torn apart. What she did was a dick move but SM vigilantism has gone a bit too far in some cases.
People need to calm down on trying to end her life. She screwed up but ffs she didn't rape anyone, cheat on a spouse, etc., etc., etc. I hate this new culture of trying to destroy anyone that has a bad moment.
Doxxing needs to have a quick death.

I agree 110%…
Society gets a thrill out of seeking out and destroying someone’s life. Society is quick to break out their cell phones to record or take pics. Or quickly record what they saw on tv. Technology while great can be a pain in the a$$. We all make dumb choices and decisions. Should your life be ruined for it… probably not. Though sometimes you have to look humor in it all.
