I was hearing on Kfan this am that Parise is not suiting up for todays Wild game
They definitely need to find a way to move him to another team in the off-season, at this point I’m pretty sure Zach will waive his no trade clause. And Zach has some leverage too, because if he just up & retires & doesn’t agree to go on LTIR down the road, the Wild will be screwed from a salary cap hit standpoint. It’s in both parties best interest to move him.
Not really. Parise retiring wouldn't be ideal for the WIld, but it would still be better than keeping him on the roster. Parise needs to face reality and take his LTIR retirement package and go away.
So with NBC game 1 in ot where do we watch the Wild?

I don’t get why they made it into such a secret. You would think they would want to promote the show.

There are many who are not a fan of Oake (FTR, I'm one of them; had that opinion wayyyyyyyyyyy before The Current incident).

One fan brought a good point that BSN will need more content for them to justify $23/month

Is that intended to be $23 a month for all the regional sports networks? That could be intriguing but I’m not paying that just for the local teams.

From what Ive read you would only get the local teams. You would not get games in other markets.

Yeah - good luck with getting subscribers for that.

If you can have multiple streams I'd be totally in. Split it with my parents and it'll be like 12 bucks a month. For all the Twins, Wild, and Gopher hockey games. I'd definitely pay that.

It's a nice break from the Duckys and Bunnies show, and just before real substance from Burrito. As a whole, a good balanced daytime schedule

The most recent episode of the Worst Seats in the House with Russo and Lapanta was really good. Lapanta is on vacation so Russo did his podcast with Lou Nanne from the Nanne's cabin in Wisconsin (Lou had invited him up there previously). 1.5 hours of Russo and Nanne made for great listening. Lou knows everyone and has a story about each of them.

Why with COVID-19 rules changed major league sports have full crowds allowed but broadcast of games the visiting teams broadcast from their home stadiums?
Aloha!
Maybe they want to? Could be saving the team some money too. Not everyone is comfortable traveling/being in large crowds yet so I imagine there could be some personal preference at play in some cases. ?♀️
And, for the Stanley Cup... while there were some rules relaxed to allow the teams/officials to be crossing the border, does that apply to the press types as well? (No, I do not know the answer to that)
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Could be liability issues, also. If an announcer/etc gets the Rona...is the company on the hook? (I dunno, TBH).

I did not watch last nights game, but in the prior series in Montreal, I thought Pierre was rink side, but it appeared the PxP and the color guy was calling it remotely. I say this as most openings on TV they show the guys in the booth, but for the games in Montreal last round, they just showed the arena, and then they showed Pierre at rink side. So I'm wondering if the league/Canada is only allowing a certain number of media to cross the border. I also think, Jackie Redmond, an NHL Network employee ( based in USA ) is currently in Montreal. She is a Canadian resident though.

Canada is a lot stricter than the US, to the best of my knowledge.

I think we are going to see a ton of less traveling for broadcasters. Now that they have shown they can do it remotely, the big corporate types will cut budgets and keep them home.

The announcers are watching the game on tv, just like the viewers.
That's kinda sad. In-house views from announcers catch things that TV viewers don't see, etc.

I was thinking the same. That’s gotta stink for the broadcasters if that becomes the case. I feel like it would suck most of the fun out of that job if you cannot call it live and have the fun of traveling with the team.

Honestly why have them at all then? Honestly. They are calling what we are already seeing.

I disagree. If the viewer can notice the difference than once things chill they will still send broadcast teams to locations.
I would think it more likely that all games have one announcer that is neutral rather than get rid of them completely
LaPanta was said a few podcasts ago he was told he will be back on the road season. He does expect that broadcast teams will share some of the production teams though. The road teams will utilize the home teams crew.

Bally Sports North's Annie Sabo's last broadcast with them was yesterday. She is moving back to Florida to be closer to fiancé and family. Wonder if this again opens the door for Katie Emmer to return full time to BSN, as she was doing some free lance work with them since she returned from Philly?

I worked in the collections dept at the MN History Center when they added the “Frankie Sweet Music Viola” banner to the collection. It was displayed in the MN A to Z exhibit under B is for Baseball. Still one of the best overall exhibits they ever did! People loved it.

The BSN Twins broadcast for all road games this year originates at Target Field. LaPanta seems to think the Wild broadcasters will get to go on the road this fall.
