B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Nate Schmidt with 1st NHL goal tonight vs Preds.

Nice shot.
To think he was riding pine under John Hill..
Sooo Bjugstad manhandled Datsyuk last night and is slowly sneaking into the Calder race. He's centering Florida's top line right now.

Kyle Okposo scores.

Bjugstad snipe tonight. Wheeler and Vanek also scored.
Wheeler's been on a tear, 6 goals in 9 games or something like that?
Potulny back in the USA.

Thoughts on this (hypothetical) All-Minnesota Olympic team?
Parise-Backes-Oshie
Wheeler-Stepan-Okposo
Cullen-Bjugstad-Mueller
Nelson-Morin-Bochenski
Hendricks
McDonagh-Faulk
Martin-Johnson
Goligoski-Byfuglien
Niskanen
(Leddy)
(McBain)
(Hillen)
(Ballard)
Stalock
Hartzell
Curry
(Frazee)
I think they could beat Norway, Latvia, and Slovenia pretty consistently... closer to par with Austria and Switzerland.
Kinda weird that MN doesn't produce any real NHL level goalies. Wonder why.

But we sure do pump out the defensemen!
Actually, I edited my roster to move Hartzell higher on the depth chart. He seems to be doing really well in Wilkes-Barre.
Looks like Minnesota Hockey released their own dream team. They were smart enough to include Ryan Carter (not sure how I missed him). However, they missed Bochenski, so I feel a little vindicated.
Here's their team:
Parise - Backes - Oshie
Byfuglien - Stepan - Wheeler
Nelson - Cullen - Okposo
Carter - Hendricks - JT Brown
Gardiner (moved up like Big Buff)
Bjugstad
Eaves
Jackman
Morin
Pitlick
Lee
Kristo
Schroeder
Martin - Faulk
McDonagh - Johnson
Leddy - Braun
Goligoski - Niskanen
Stuart
McBain
Gilbert
Ness
Schmidt
Leopold
Ballard
Stalock
Hartzell
Lee

Vanek passes on Islanders 7 year 50 million dollar deal. Says he wants to test free agent market. NYI will most likely try to deal him before trading deadline.

Ben Hanowski recalled by Calgary on 3/5.
IIRC, Ryan Stoa played his first NHL game of the year earlier this week for the Capitals.
7 points (5 G, 2 A) in 7 games for Anders Lee since being called up for the Isles.
Phoenix picks up Cade Fairchild from St. Louis. He's assigned to Portland.

Further evidence that we were better off that he removed himself from the situation. Gave us a chance to recruit for a replacement much sooner which is better for us in the long run.

Lance Pitlick was one bad-ass defenseman for the Gophers. Pound for pound the hardest hitter the Gophers have ever had in my opinion. He's Rem's dad.
I suppose you have to be >40 to remember him.

Nothing compared to former Blaine HS TC Vulcans & SCSU D man Mike Pudlick.
pudlick had a cannon for a shot.
4 of the top 9 former college players in scoring were Gophers
