I thought he was half crazy tempting Seeler last night...not too intelligent.

I don't know about that; they say he's really been working hard on his pull-ups.

schmitty back tonight

It speaks volumes to the amount of respect that Nate is getting from Vegas that they are printing and selling shirts about Schmidt being back. Most teams would shy away from promoting the fact a player that was suspended because of a failed drug test is back. It shows that they believe that the positive test was a mistake and they believe him. It doesn't hurt that he is a great teammate and person.

Yeah 34, we know, I even witnessed in person Illinois Chicago Circle play UW Superior back in 72 or 73 at Wessman Arena....as I recall the Yellowjackets were victorious...albeit they had their share of older Canadian players (in those days) ??

Manny might want to check his formula because it's busted.

If the justification for his contract is based on being better than the worst contracts in the league? Sure, it's a great deal.

Fair enough, it’s also right in line with Straalman, EJ, Niskanen, Fowler. It’s clearly not as bad as you’re making it out to be.

Well...he’s skating a regular shift on the 3rd line (as a 20 year old) a team currently on course to make the playoffs & being paid $1 million this season. By contrast, he could be centering the 4th best team in MN for $0 this season...not difficult to do the math on what was the better decision ?

No, it’s comes down to doing what HE wanted to do, not a bunch of “rube” fans like you (or me). It’s not like he bolted mid season like Okposo☝️The gopher from last year who miscalculated was Lindgren, who is playing in the AHL ☝️

He made the wrong decision. It was fairly obvious then ,and even more so now. Hopefully it doesn't harm his development.

Phil the Thrill (31) and Wheeler (32) have been two of the top 21 scorers since the start of 16-17. Phil is technically 19th but tied with Auston Matthews if you round to 0.99 ppg.

They are carrying the torch for the Gophers but in three or four years someone will need to take over. It seems the Haula/Bjugstad combo won't reach the heights we thought they would.

I still have confidence that Casey can be a point per game player around that time. Who else do you think has that upside? Right now I guess sky is the limit for Lucius but also the largest range of outcomes.

I'll check what defense are representing the best at some point soon and think about who could replace them and when.

I also think Robson could be our first NHL goalie to be double digit appearances in ages!

Vanek scored in his 1,000th game. I'm guessing Phil Kessel will be the next one to that mark. I think he has played in 955 games. Wheeler in in the 800's and Goligoski is in the 700's. Okposo is just over 700, and Leddy is just over 600. Erik Johnson is in the 600's, but has missed a ton of games.. Paul Martin ended up with 870, Leopold end up at 695.

Wheeler already being 800+ really makes me feel old. It seems just like yesterday he crushed Lamawioux.

Somewhat unrelated but I watched highlights again from the 2004 WCHA FF title game which is one of the greatest UM-UND tilts of all time especially considering the insane amount of talent on the ice from both teams.

It will be interesting if it's just for a small time period or more. Fans in NY are speculating that the Rangers are trading a defenseman. Good luck to Ryan. Really wish he was still on this Gopher team this year.
