My bad, I assumed he was going to play in AHL. Oops I still stand by my nomad comment though :D

Maybe a dumb question, but since he signed a 3 year entry level deal, does that deal start today, and would end in 3 years, or it doesn't start until he plays in AHL/NHL?

Assuming that this is Bellows' 19year old season, it wont start this year unless he plays 10 games or more in the NHL. AHL years count as long as the player is at least 20 years old.

Bellows is a 1998 birth year, so he's 19 years old (at the most). Doubt he will play 10 games for the Islanders this season...who knows...but he didn't exactly light it up at BU last year.

He's started a little slow at every level he's played but shows improvement as he goes. It would not surprise me at all to see him land a spot as a defensive forward.

Very cool. He'll be a fan favorite in "The Big Apple." :good2:

Love him or hate him, hard to deny that Mr. Vanek has had a very productive NHL career. He now has 700 points.

https://www.nhl.com/player/thomas-vanek-8470598.

I tried posting the video but it puts in the entire video and not the link...if anyone is more adept please do so. It's a nice goal.

Give Vanek a skosh more speed, and I think he would be an NHL superstar. As it is, he has been a solid NHLer, and he's made a good living doing it.

How any Gopher fan could have anything but love for Vanek is beyond me?

Ryan Stoa is the only Gopher on the US Deutschland Cup roster, which is a team of European-based finalists for the US Olympic team.

Don't be silly. This was Team USA, not team Canada.

Anyone see Nate making nearly $2.5 million a year in the NHL? Clearly a case of hard work paying off - congrats to him.

I love this. Kid is fun to watch and clearly has learned from the time he was a freshman at the U. Is there another player that has come in quite highly thought of, played so little their first year and then exploded the next two seasons. Would love to see him become a star for the Knights.

Not to the same extent of some, but Collins

Another two goal night for Cammerata in an OT loss. Good enough for the #3 star. He also had an assist in Saturday's game.

Wheeler is having a pretty good year so far. 35 points in 27 games , good for 4th in the league. Kessel has 33 points as well.

I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey

Him do well, but you have to consider the caliber of the league too...

Cammarata isn't the Gopher alum with the most points in the ECHL this season. That would be Sam Warning, who has 11-5-16 for Quad City.

Boeser already the best player on the Canucks and now probably the best Whioux player in the league over the likes of Toews and Oshie. Crazy. Really gonna suck if we only get one year out of CM after UND got two out of Boeser.

Toews likely would take exception to that assessment ever being spoken out loud...of course he’d never hear it spoken anyway, seeing as he has a Stanley Cup Ring stuck in both ears with one in his hand to spare ??
