Opener at Tech Cancelled

Game moved to Sunday at 2pm (Central)

Houghton, MI — Due to unsafe ice conditions, Friday nights game against Michigan Tech was cancelled. It will be moved to Sunday at 2pm with the Saturday game being moved up from 5pm to 3pm.

The rumor is that the arena didn’t add that trapezoid lines until recently and it caused all sorts of ice issues due to having to replace large areas of the ice. It is well known that ice needs up to a week to get set after being replaced. Was this the case?

This was a new rule this summer, so they had plenty of time. But we just hope that everything is fine for Saturday’s game.
