This is a 10.8% beer, stanker, hoppier.
0:22
Lots of loaf of bread.
0:24
Yes, it is.
0:28
Oh, boy.
0:30
I do make mistakes.
0:31
I love it.
0:32
And so I had to train for this marathon.
0:36
Make sure you stay awake for the game to run.
0:42
Wait a second, hair game on GPL.
0:55
Now, here's Jupiter and Vegoe.
1:03
Good evening, and welcome to The GPL Podcast, episode number 233.
1:11
Veegs, a very successful weekend in Hockey Valley.
1:17
I think we can officially say the demons have been put in the past about Minnesota's trips out to Happy Valley, and we saw a great performance on Friday night.
1:28
I think there are a couple of things on Saturday I didn't like about the Gophers game, and it brings up a few of those nitpicky worries.
1:37
But again, at the end of the game, guess who comes through with key plays and takes advantage of their skills, Matthew Nyes.
1:44
And that's just the magic this team has this year.
1:48
Well, we have a guest who actually witnessed these games pretty well this past weekend.
1:53
He was doing a little color commentary on the BTN Podcast, making his 11th appearance on The GPL Podcast, Paul Caponigri.
2:03
Cappy, how are you, man?
2:05
I don't know.
2:06
Any of these numbers you start throwing out there, I just start feeling older and older.
2:10
But no.
2:11
Oh, come on.
2:11
I'm 50 now.
2:13
I'm 50.
2:15
I'm not 50.
2:17
No, you're not.
2:19
Great to be here as always.
2:22
It means it's Buckeye time.
2:24
And yeah, like you guys can talk to me as much as each other about last week's games.
2:30
Because I exactly I might actually know them a little better than you.
2:33
You probably do.
2:35
Well, I here I actually I got this.
2:37
I don't know if we'll be able to hear this.
2:38
I got this from after the overtime win of basically your description of what just happened.
2:46
Wow.
2:46
We just got finished.
2:49
We just got finished.
2:52
Yeah, I didn't understand that quote.
2:55
I didn't remember saying that.
2:58
I loved it.
2:59
I mean, literally, you just got finished by the Gophers.
3:02
Yeah, but that's not what it meant, but you can use it.
3:04
I'm just going with it.
3:07
There's something about Nyes and we had just finished talking about Nyes, right?
3:12
Or something.
3:13
You were actually.
3:14
Yeah.
3:15
Actually, Veegs, I was surprised that he was out there because there was a short shift in between, but he was out there a long time.
3:22
And even Cappy saw, you saw in that kind of semi break that he had.
3:28
He was pretty tired, Veegs, but short, short rest and then right back on.
3:33
Yeah.
3:33
And he just needs that little bit of space where he can get that big body to protect the puck and he can make magical things happen out there.
3:41
I think he's talked about that over the year, how he's learned how to use his knees, how to use his hips and how to use his shoulders to create separation, protect the puck.
3:50
And it's just that maturation of a hockey player.
3:53
And he's basically like an NHL body, now playing NCAA hockey and he understands how to use that body right now.
4:00
Well, before we get into that Saturday night, Veegs, your thoughts on the 7-2 victory Friday night.
4:08
I think even Cappy was saying that they were telling him that they tried to play the Gopher style and it just didn't work out too well for them.
4:16
Yeah.
4:16
You know, Penn State, they survive on pressure and getting in transition.
4:21
And when they don't put pressure on the other team, they get in trouble.
4:26
And Minnesota had plenty of space on Friday night and their skill just leapt off the screen.
4:32
You know, you just saw players finishing, scoring opportunities.
4:35
I mean, you look at that second period for Logan Cooley, this kid is flashing it all.
4:40
He's competitive.
4:42
He's got vision.
4:43
He's got skating.
4:45
He can pass the puck.
4:45
He can shoot the puck.
4:48
I think he's exceeded all expectations I had for him this season.
4:52
I was a little nervous.
4:53
Him coming in, playing center, being top billing player.
4:58
He's delivered this season.
5:00
And Cappy, he doesn't shy away from the physical play either.
5:04
You know, we saw that play when Fish came into the zone with the puck and obviously the whistle blown, he gets knocked over.
5:11
Cooley is right in his face, causing trouble, getting penalties and actually getting extra penalty.
5:17
A five minute major after that when they face basketball.
5:20
So he's not afraid to mix in some physical stuff too.
5:24
Excuse me.
5:25
No, and that's not even the play that I...
5:28
You guys mentioned that or I saw people talking about that one on Twitter and stuff.
5:32
And that's not the play I remembered.
5:35
I mean, that's a great play that he comes in there.
5:38
But it's, you know, I remember, you know, the first period, I think it was the second period, but on Saturday he comes, they weren't playing well.
5:47
You could tell it was just like a, you know, Penn State gets the early goal.
5:51
You knew Minnesota wasn't going to be, they're not going to come out and be dominant again that night.
5:56
It's hard to do that.
5:57
But he threw a check on Tyler Paquette, who's probably the biggest Penn State guy, right in front of the bench.
6:03
And, you know, he went out of his way to do it.
6:05
Like it wasn't like he had to do it.
6:07
And it just showed like he was pissed off, quite frankly, at maybe the start of the game.
6:12
And you just saw his competitiveness come out even more there.
6:15
And I think that's what maybe an NHL, you know, his Arizona scouts would be like, that's what I love to see the most.
6:22
He didn't do anything dirty or anything.
6:24
He just was like, okay, I'm going to bring something else.
6:27
I'm going to try to get this team going by going after arguably their biggest player and finishing a hard check on him.
6:35
Veegs, I mean, you can't talk about it.
6:38
I think sometimes it gets the better of him.
6:41
And he takes some stupid penalties and he gets a little too hotheaded.
6:45
But I think he's calmed that down a bit and he's just using it more to his advantage and not to the detriment of the team.
6:53
Well, I think he was getting in trouble when he was doing stuff after the whistle.
6:56
And he was, you know, trying to figure out how do I get physical in college hockey and do it right and still make a point.
7:04
And he's now finding ways to do it in the pace of play and deliver hits like Cappy said, where he's finishing guys along the wall or being a little bit harder in the corners when he's winning pucks.
7:18
And you just see that maturity.
7:20
And I think it takes guys a while to learn how to play physical in college hockey because you'll get penalties if you do it the wrong way.
7:28
I think we saw that with Sample Ranta when the coaches were like, hey Sample, we need you to be more physical.
7:33
You're a big body.
7:34
Go out there and do that.
7:35
And he would just run guys.
7:37
You take bad hits.
7:39
He'd take the body to take them out of play too far.
7:43
And so I think it takes a while for guys to figure out how do I make that kind of impact in the game.
7:50
So a big period Veegs Friday night, five points a goal and four assists.
7:57
It's not like the other guys did bad either.
8:01
So obviously Cooley, Nice, Dugger, it's the big talk.
8:06
I'm a little worried about some of the other lines.
8:08
Like the Nelson line is, they haven't contributed offensively as much lately.
8:18
Yeah, it definitely seems like they're taking a little pressure off when they're on the ice.
8:23
When they're playing really well, they're all connected.
8:26
They're applying the forecheck where they just seem to be in sync, where they get on top of pucks almost immediately.
8:32
They place pucks where their linemates can go and continue to apply pressure.
8:38
The last couple of games, it seems like they're just a little behind the play, a little late to the dance.
8:43
And I think it's easier for someone like Cappy to see that than for us, because when you're just watching the TV camera angle that you get on the broadcast, you don't see how players are setting each other up.
8:55
You know, when you get that big picture, it's easier to see, are they really that far away from the puck?
9:01
Are they that far away from making a play?
9:03
And I think that's something they did well early in the year, and something maybe they'll get back to is the intensity ramps up, but it's just missing right now.
9:15
Did you see any of that kind of Friday night game coming at all, Cappy, because we certainly didn't.
9:24
Well, I think they kind of, I don't think they played well either game last week against Wisconsin.
9:31
So, you know, and I thought, and you know, Veegs, you were there at least, like Bob doesn't say much in his press conference, at least he didn't this week.
9:40
Like, but the one thing he did say was that, hey, maybe the coach has the room back a little.
9:47
And, you know, I think once you lose a game and maybe get away with one on Friday night, okay, you know, and the guys, I think both guys and then the guys we talked to all said detail.
9:59
Like, they all said detail in there.
10:01
And so, like, getting back to the details.
10:05
And then the other factor was, you know, they were coming off a bye week.
10:09
This time Penn State was coming off their bye week.
10:11
And I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason for it, but Minnesota was flat the week before, and then Penn State was flat on theirs.
10:18
And the other team took advantage of it to an extent.
10:21
And Minnesota did it to them.
10:22
And then being shorthanded without their D, I think they felt like, oh, man, we're maybe we're a little bit of the underdog here, kind of going on the road.
10:30
You know, so maybe had just a little bit of an extra chip Friday.
10:34
And then, you know, they got going early.
10:36
And then the big line took over in the second period.
10:39
And then Penn State looked like a team that reminded me when they're playing Michigan when Hughes scored four goals and they just stopped skating and they look like they were stuck in quicksand.
10:49
And they don't have the talent to not skate.
10:53
If they're not skating, they're in big trouble.
10:56
And that's just kind of snowball of what I thought Friday happened.
11:00
But that that goal, that first goal really kind of set the tone.
11:03
That was such a pretty goal.
11:04
And I think it just kind of got the ball rolling.
11:07
You know, I don't think it ever hit the ice.
11:10
I think Pitlicks passed back.
11:13
I mean, if it did, it was like as it.
11:16
Yeah, I think he hit it maybe out of the year.
11:20
It was just so weird.
11:21
But yeah, that was, you know, because they were putting on quite a bit of pressure there, Veegs.
11:27
And all of a sudden, we just, as Cappy said in the podcast, they pulled a Penn State, you know, flipping it up and just throwing it down there.
11:37
They got a break, a bounce off a glove and boom, boom, boom.
11:41
It was in the net.
11:42
And that's what it did really set the tone for that game.
11:46
It did set the tone.
11:47
And when Minnesota gets going in transition, that's bad news for the other team.
11:52
You know, we've talked to like in a couple of years past, you know, the Gopher talent wasn't quite this elite.
11:59
And this year they are elite at finishing opportunities and you just can't do that to Minnesota.
12:05
I do think one thing about the detail, you know, I asked Jackson LeCombe, what does that mean?
12:10
Like what does the detail in your game look like?
12:12
And he's like back checking all the way to the net, being on the right side of the puck and being aware of your shift length and your shift discipline and who's out there on the ice.
12:24
And I think as you get going deeper in the season, that stuff matters a ton.
12:29
You really have to recognize, you know, who's out there against me and what's their shift length like?
12:35
Are we going to be able to take an opportunity against them or is this one where we need to play it safer and just reload with the next line and gain some momentum?
12:44
And those are the kinds of details that matter at this time of year.
12:47
And you have to hope that a veteran team learns those lessons.
12:51
And Minnesota hasn't done that in the past.
12:55
And I worry about that in a one and done type game, you know, because there's so much build up right now.
13:00
This team is focused on Frozen 4.
13:04
There's a lot of weeks between now and then.
13:07
Cappy, Saturday night, Penn State came out, played much better, played obviously a better overall defensive game.
13:13
Were actually out shot by Minnesota.
13:15
So it was, they really changed up their game to keep it close.
13:22
Yeah, I think at least like the first, obviously getting the goal early helped.
13:27
Yeah.
13:27
Core like that, the crowds in it.
13:31
I just thought also, okay, you lose 7-2 Friday at home, you're going to get a better effort from them.
13:36
Yeah.
13:37
Then I don't care how good you are.
13:40
You win 7-2 Friday and everything's going well for you.
13:44
It's good to hit you a little mentally and have you just not as crisp to start a game for Minnesota.
13:51
I didn't think they were horrible, but you see some Friday you're like, oh, maybe it'll just happen again.
13:56
No, it's not going to come easy.
14:00
So those two colliding, one coming down from such a great effort and one coming up, I thought it was a somewhat even game.
14:10
It was.
14:11
First half of it at least.
14:14
Yeah, Penn State, I don't know because the week, two weeks before against Ohio State, I think Ohio State outshot them both nights or kept them under 30 shots or right around 30, which is just, that's just wild, even when it's a road series and they're not keeping their own shots.
14:30
Well, yeah, I don't know what's happened lately, but they have not been stringing the shots together.
14:36
They're taking those first shots like normal, but they're not getting that second and third one like what they've done and then get the pressure in the zone, get that defensive team running around out of position.
14:47
That's where they get into their bread and butter type of deal.
14:50
And they haven't been able to do that recently.
14:53
I think in that sort of second and third periods on Saturday night, Minnesota was really building, they started taking over the game.
15:00
And then a defensive lapse is what you could say.
15:04
I know Moscow was not happy about giving up that 2-1 goal after playing so well since that first shot of the game that they allowed in.
15:15
Yeah, you're not happy about that goal because it's three players all making critical mistakes.
15:20
You have a defender behind the net who's mishandling a puck.
15:24
You have a defender who's trying to keep the puck from coming out to the front of the net.
15:29
And they're not able to do that.
15:30
They don't pay enough attention to make a skilled play and block that puck.
15:34
And then you have a forward who's supposed to be protecting the net who's not even close to his check.
15:40
And when you have three players all miss critical details at the end of a game, that's going to frustrate a coach.
15:47
I think the other thing about Saturday that I think frustrated Bob was they missed the net 21 times out of 71 shot attempts.
15:55
They had 17 shots blocked.
15:57
That's just not mentally being engaged in the game.
16:00
And I think that was frustrating for him to see that kind of stuff happen.
16:04
And you know, they're not all going to be Picasso's.
16:07
But sometimes when you don't have your A game, you want your team to be a little more disciplined, committing to the ground game and just controlling it rather than leaving it for a toss up at the end like they did on Saturday.
16:20
But then Mr.
16:22
Nyes shows up, Cappy, and gets a nice feed.
16:25
Snuggeroo just comes around the net, feeds it across, goes off a skate.
16:29
No bodies on Snuggeroo, on Nyes.
16:32
He buries it.
16:35
And then they get the overtime winner from Nyes after Cooley spins behind the net, comes back, comes around, spins again.
16:41
And like you said, it was like Cal McCarr coming towards the net and he was like, I'm just going to dish it off here.
16:48
So then the show began and it was kind of neat.
16:54
Yeah, I mean, that spin was, I mean, almost exactly the same.
16:59
It was.
17:01
And I mean, I sat at the broadcast and I'm like, he's got a pretty much breakaway here, but he's looking it off kind of.
17:07
I'm like, well, somebody's got to be over there, right?
17:11
And he had to make a perfect shot.
17:12
Well, I mean, Suley, yes, air like not, you know, not there.
17:16
But, you know, he he left what he got to whatever he could.
17:19
And it was like, yeah, it was just inside the pipe.
17:21
It was a great show.
17:22
And he put it right in the spot.
17:25
And then the tying goal actually go back to that.
17:28
You know, Brodzinski went to the net, you know, and yes.
17:32
And their guys went there because that's the play.
17:34
That's where Snuggers is going with the puck.
17:37
So you can't blame them.
17:38
And you can't be in the same spot as Brodzinski.
17:42
Why would you want to do that?
17:43
So he's on the other side and, you know, right guy in the right spot.
17:46
And he had to bury that.
17:47
That barely went in too.
17:49
So good plays, you know, felt it when Snuggers was carrying that puck in that and he's going pretty good.
17:56
You're like, okay, that something's going here, you know, but it doesn't always work out.
18:01
But you're like, okay, some, you know, they're in a good spot here.
18:06
And honestly, V, these are the kind of games they lost so many times over the past five years.
18:12
You know, they play well, they play well for the game and then they give up a late goal and then that's it.
18:17
Well, we've been talking about how the fan base is very confident when their team is behind a goal and they pull their goalie, because this team time and time again is showing that they can even it up and take it to OT.
18:29
And I probably should look it up here at some point, but I got to think they've got like four or five extra attacker goals this year, which is just amazing, because they are not behind very often either.
18:40
Yeah, that's pretty wild if they do, because you don't remember too many chasing by one.
18:46
And Frank Masako put out today that, you know, nice scoring three overtime goals ties a record for a goal, for a gopher in a career even, they keep saying.
18:57
No one had more than three overtime winners or something like that.
19:01
And he's got three this season.
19:03
It's pretty crazy.
19:05
It is crazy and I don't want to take anything away from that.
19:08
But with it being three on three, it doesn't have more goals unless you're going out there a lot too.
19:16
So I don't want to say it's not incredible.
19:19
I had one overtime goal in my college career.
19:22
So, you know, it's not easy.
19:24
So he's got three, which in one year, which is insane.
19:27
What was it?
19:28
What was your overtime goal?
19:29
Who was it against?
19:30
What was the score?
19:31
Eastern Michigan.
19:32
I ended up actually being the not.
19:35
Come on, let's hear it.
19:36
I got a John Horn.
19:37
I used to award that weekend for.
19:39
I had a good weekend at Western one year.
19:43
So but, yeah, one overtime goal, I think, as I can remember.
19:47
So him having three in one year.
19:50
But it does change with the three on three aspect.
19:54
Yes.
19:55
But yes, don't want to take too much away from him because he does this, what, seven game winning goals now, too.
20:00
Yes, that's like two more than any other.
20:02
So let's listen to this.
20:04
Don't I'm not taking a shot at you.
20:07
Oh, gosh, no.
20:09
And that's why I totally get it.
20:10
They do have four extra attacker goals this year.
20:13
Wow.
20:15
That's amazing.
20:16
That's a lot.
20:18
I can't think of them right now.
20:22
Lacombe's had two point shot goals.
20:26
Nyes has got the one here.
20:29
And there was one earlier in the year, I think Nyes might have got two.
20:31
North Dakota, Notre Dame.
20:33
North Dakota.
20:34
That's one I remember.
20:36
Penn State, yeah.
20:39
The Minnesota games were, or the Michigan games, they were down in the third, not extra attacker goals though, right?
20:46
Both games were down in the third period and came back at home.
20:50
Pretty sure.
20:51
I think one of them might have been a late goal though.
20:53
I don't.
20:53
Yeah, I don't know if they were extra attacker though, you know.
20:58
But yeah, like you said, Veex, it's kind of that confidence, confidence that you've done it a couple of times and you can do it again.
21:06
That's a big deal.
21:08
And I think you watch this team in those situations and they get second, third, fourth, fifth chances because they are so good at getting to loose pucks.
21:18
As Cappy was saying, Penn State is not able to get those second chances.
21:23
This Minnesota team, they just figure out how to get in the right spots to win those second chances.
21:29
And you know, Bob's a big baseball guy.
21:31
And he's like, if you give a team extra outs by making errors, you're going to get in trouble.
21:36
And that's what happens to teams against Minnesota.
21:38
They're making errors, there's extra outs, and Minnesota is always going to come to the plate swinging.
21:43
I think that's the part with the details.
21:45
Another part with the details is I felt like on Friday night, they came back to the front of the net really well on their back check.
21:51
And then so when Penn State got that first shot, they were there to either get it out or take it and go.
21:59
And it wasn't giving Penn, like I said, Penn State, that second and third shot where they can build momentum on that shift and, you know, get you in trouble.
22:10
Did, do you think Minnesota took offense by a few people saying they can relax that they were already champions by the night before Veegs?
22:18
Because, you know, Moscow kind of went after, you know, Frank a little bit Friday night after that.
22:27
Bob is trying to protect his team from the Nick Saban rat poison.
22:32
The media puts all this rat poison out and they just try to keep the players away from it.
22:37
You know, this doesn't mean anything.
22:39
We should rest.
22:39
Maybe we should put it in the backup goaltender.
22:42
Maybe we should mix up the lines and rest our stars.
22:45
You know, all that they did on Friday.
22:48
You know, there's all this stuff that's out there.
22:50
And Bob's like, I got to try to figure out how to get this team to the finish line.
22:54
You know, he's not happy with how the Big Ten tournament is going to work.
22:58
You know, they're going to have the buy.
23:00
They're going to have the one game.
23:02
He's hoping that they get a second game, but it's a week later.
23:05
And then they come to the tournament, whereas you have all these other leagues doing something different.
23:09
And I don't know what Bob quite wants the Big Ten to do other than add an eighth team.
23:15
But it's not a great situation coming at the end of the year.
23:18
So he's got to try to find a way to keep them focused while he can.
23:22
And then you look at somebody like a Michigan State, not even going to play this weekend, Cappy.
23:28
Yeah.
23:28
You know, we're trying, we're trying to hopefully get them to get their least first league playoff win.
23:34
Right.
23:35
And now they're going to end up, you know, that whole last weekend off, and then they got to come in full three game series and try to win.
23:43
Maybe at home, probably on the road, but right, it's not a great situation.
23:48
They would need help from Wisconsin.
23:51
Well, and Ohio State, I think, or not, is it Ohio State?
23:54
No, not Ohio State, Michigan.
23:56
They would need Michigan to take care of Notre Dame, and they would need Wisconsin, I believe, to just win one.
24:02
Because I think it's head to head, right?
24:04
Bigs is the first tiebreaker.
24:06
Like, if you're curious.
24:08
So I think, and Michigan State has that over Penn State.
24:17
They have the head to head record, I believe, because they went two, one, and one against them.
24:23
So if Penn State were to split with Wisconsin, they'd be tied for that four or five if Michigan were to sweep Notre Dame.
24:29
Let's say the top three were Ohio State, Michigan, and you guys, Minnesota, they would need Penn State to split with Wisconsin for them to, and I think they would go be four or five with Penn State, I think, and then Notre Dame would be six.
24:49
So yeah, I think for not to get out a big Michigan State thing, but I think for them right now, everything is gravy this year.
24:58
I think if you're Adam Nightingale, like to be a 500 team near a pairwise conversation and near a home ice spot for the playoffs, if they get it great, if not, I think, you know, but he's building something there, and this isn't a bad year, because I think recruits are looking like, hey, look what he's doing with it.
25:16
You know, the talent level isn't great, but look what he's doing there.
25:20
What if we get some talent here, you know, or, you know, high, whatever, higher end talent?
25:25
So just for Michigan Stadium, this is a good building block for them to be, you want them to be a good part of this league.
25:30
We do.
25:31
A league better.
25:32
You know, but like Vegue said, they need another team.
25:37
And obviously they tried the tournament thing and it didn't work with fans or whatever it was, Vegues, but for the hockey team, that still works best that way, because like you said, you're playing one weekend, two games, maybe three.
25:50
The next weekend you're playing, you know, three games or two games, at least.
25:57
So, and then you start the tournament.
25:59
Now you're playing, I mean, two games in two weeks.
26:04
And that's, that's a tough, that's a tough deal.
26:07
Yeah.
26:08
It's always complicated when you talk to these coaches about what is best at the end of the season for the conference tournament and what's best for them in the NCAA tournament in terms of sites, location, games, and days.
26:21
Because if you're the underdog, you want that neutral site, dead atmosphere, maybe with a chance to get a bid.
26:28
If you're the team that's always on top, you would rather play at home and do whatever it is to get you through healthy and maybe sell some tickets.
26:37
And the regionals, if you're a small team, you probably want the empty buildings and whatnot.
26:42
You don't want to give advantages to these big teams.
26:44
So I think there's a lot of coaches out there who are making decisions based on selfish reasons.
26:50
I think if you are looking is what's best for the college hockey player and what's best prepare them for the tournament, it's to have the rigor of a couple of games before heading into the blaze.
27:04
It's not good to sit at home for the next three weeks.
27:07
Maybe one of those weeks is okay, but not two out of three.
27:12
Well, what do you think, Cappy?
27:15
What changes would you like to see?
27:17
Well, that's what could happen.
27:20
The top four are looking pretty solid in the NCAA tournament, right?
27:23
So, say Penn State ends up on the road, say they split with Wisconsin, they end up at Michigan State, Michigan State beats them.
27:31
They're in the tournament and they got to sit around for three weeks, pretty much.
27:35
There'll be three weeks between games.
27:38
If Minnesota somehow were to lose the semifinal, they're going to lose the game in three weeks.
27:46
For me, and there's a lot of logistical stuff, and then you got to think about enough time between games.
27:55
But for me, maybe I would go, you have squeeze it down to two weekends.
28:02
You play your best of three.
28:03
Maybe you start at Thursday.
28:05
You do Thursday, Friday, Saturday, if necessary.
28:08
And then the next weekend, if you want to keep it on the sites, you go Thursday, semifinals, and then Saturday.
28:16
So there's a day of trap, like save minute, it goes chalk and it's Minnesota.
28:20
And right now, I think it would be Ohio State right now, second officially.
28:26
They would, Ohio State would travel on Saturday, Friday, the day off, and play Saturday against The Gophers for the championship.
28:35
It's not perfect, but it's at least this three weeks, I hate it.
28:41
Too drawn out.
28:41
I hate it.
28:42
It's too drawn out.
28:45
And people argue at the time, we're screwed with basketball.
28:49
We are right in the heart of all the basketball with all the NCA tournament, Big Ten tournament, and then the NCA tournament is Big Ten Championship weekend.
28:58
So it's not going to matter.
29:00
Your ratings aren't going to go much down.
29:02
Your attendance shouldn't suffer, I don't think, because it's either, you know, it's going to be there or not to be on whether Thursday or Friday for the semifinal.
29:13
If you if you squeezed it down, I just think the three weeks hurts us.
29:19
It does.
29:20
It does.
29:22
So I'd like there at least to be a discussion, maybe.
29:25
But I don't know if that'll happen.
29:26
But obviously everything would change if you got eight teams.
29:32
But even then, I'd still want to see it in two weeks.
29:35
Yeah.
29:35
I mean, nothing really changes.
29:37
You know, a team just doesn't get a buy.
29:38
That's all.
29:39
But they would still need to change.
29:41
But at least Minnesota would be playing this.
29:44
True.
29:44
And they're playing two games minimum.
29:47
And then they'd have two, then one and one.
29:49
So at least, you know, you're keep continually having games.
29:52
Yes.
29:52
It doesn't hurt you to just have one game and one game because you're still playing and you know, but you're getting a little more rest time.
29:59
It's the end of the year.
30:00
Your bodies are beat up a little bit, but you're going to play and play.
30:05
So say Arizona State was in the league this year, they'd probably be seventh or eighth the way that pairwise has them right now, whatever.
30:13
And Minnesota would be playing either Wisconsin or Arizona State.
30:20
So I don't know.
30:22
I wish I would be happy to go into these conference meetings or anything.
30:27
Even if I'm not worried, just to spitball ideas.
30:30
I say the same thing about NHL and their salary cap that is so anciently pathetic.
30:35
I'm like, let's start being flexible.
30:38
Let's go in a room and spitball ideas.
30:40
I think that's what Big Ten needs to do with the coaches and get Red Berenson in there.
30:46
See what, get people in there with ideas.
30:49
And the more you put out there, you might find something that sticks the wall.
30:57
Well, hopefully, hopefully, they'll take a look at it, Veegs.
31:00
Well, Bob said on his radio show this week that the coaches have talked about it and they have scenarios that they've talked through.
31:07
He just isn't willing to share them.
31:09
But I think, I think all the coaches are frustrated.
31:12
At least the ones who have aspirations to do well in the NCAA tournament.
31:16
You know, they are frustrated with this.
31:18
Again, you have these coaches maybe who aren't aspirational to the NCAA tournament and trying to win championships.
31:24
And they're just like, what's best for me?
31:26
Rather than what's best for that team when they've earned that shot.
31:30
Which is how I think college hockey should be organized.
31:33
You should have leagues who say, how do we have our team be in the best position to win an NCAA title?
31:39
Because that's what's best for our league.
31:41
Not my school trying to win one game.
31:44
Right, and that would be crazy.
31:46
Who in the Big Ten is not thinking about winning national championships?
31:51
In the big picture, yes.
31:52
This year, certainly, you don't think Adam Nightingale now is on the side.
31:56
We need to get to that.
31:58
We need to be where Michigan is right now in Minnesota.
32:02
Tony Granado had two years ago had one of the best teams in the country.
32:08
Penn State and Ohio State aren't thinking, oh, let's just make NCAA tournaments.
32:12
I guess that's true, and they think of it differently a little, but yeah.
32:17
I think they're looking at it differently, saying, what's our best chance to get a bid in the tournament?
32:23
Not what's the best way for us to prepare ourselves for the tournament.
32:27
Their thing is, how do I protect my school so I get a bib?
32:31
Tournament pretty much every year, and what's going to...
32:34
Yeah, but I think most Big Ten teams are going to think that way at this point.
32:39
If you look at it now, if Wisconsin somehow turns it around and Michigan State's going where they are, where is the weak link in the Big Ten, you know, eventually?
32:48
And you want that, but you also are like, you know, they're going to beat each other up to a certain extent.
32:53
But look at this year, I mean, you got no bare teams, aren't even over 500 in the league, and those teams are going to make the NCAA Tournament without...
33:02
I mean, I think Ohio State's at 99.8%.
33:05
So, I mean, in stamp four teams pretty much.
33:08
I don't want to knock on wood a little.
33:11
Minnesota thing of...
33:13
Point zero zero one.
33:18
But yeah, yeah, I just would love for them to put the Big Ten in a better situation.
33:25
All right, let's get more on to Ohio State here.
33:28
And actually kind of want to get you going a little bit, Cappy.
33:32
Some new arena might be coming, but the men's team aren't going to be playing there.
33:37
I already saw your eyes kind of roll back into your head a little bit there.
33:41
What the hell is going on over there?
33:44
I mean, I don't know enough of the detail, but I mean, I have a pretty good source there that told, like, you know, when you saw the article come out, or you get new rank.
33:56
But it sounds like, and even now, I mean, it's not even speculation, like he came out and said so much as right now, we don't know.
34:06
It depends on really how much money they get.
34:08
But it's not even that's for to get it up.
34:13
They're thinking like right now, they have the money for 1500 seat, maybe 2000 seat place.
34:18
And that if they could get more donors, more money, maybe they get it to 3000 or so.
34:23
And if they do that, then the men would play there against non-con, like when they get those small crowd, they wouldn't do that against the Gophers or Michigan or Penn.
34:35
The second half, you get 8,000, 9,000 people in that building.
34:38
It would be for like when they're playing Bowling Green in October and November.
34:46
But it's more for the women.
34:48
Yes, definitely.
34:49
And then practice in too.
34:51
So, I mean, it'd be a nice new practice facility.
34:55
But, you know, I don't know, I...
34:59
It's just, to me, it's like the worst thing you could do.
35:03
Like that they, it's like, hey, more donor money means more seats.
35:06
So, like all of a sudden, they get 20 million from the...
35:08
Oh, okay, we got enough for 6,000.
35:10
Boom, that's the new men's ring.
35:12
Like you could change.
35:13
And he literally almost like pleaded that out and said, hey, well, I'm not even like some hidden thing.
35:20
He said this.
35:23
Oh, you know, you know, at least the women are getting taken care of because their facility is an embarrassment.
35:30
So that part is so good and so great for women's college hockey.
35:35
But like you said, Veegs, they just can't do this.
35:38
They've got to find those donors because it would be a foolish move.
35:42
Well, it's basically something like once you make that investment, it's not like you can just all of a sudden change it and add another 4,000 seats to the rink if you change your mind.
35:52
I think you have to be forward thinking.
35:54
You are in the Big Ten.
35:56
You are sponsoring men's and women's hockey in one of the biggest conferences in college hockey.
36:02
This is your chance to make an investment.
36:04
If you don't, you will forever be handicapping your program in a conference where it seems like everyone is making improvements.
36:12
Michigan State has made a lot of improvements for the players.
36:15
You have to think that they will be making improvements to their rank soon for the fans.
36:21
Minnesota, they are shrinking the rank.
36:23
They are going to be improving the experience of the fans.
36:26
You are going to have these new competitors coming in with St.
36:29
Thomas and Augustana.
36:31
You are competing for players.
36:32
If you don't take this opportunity and make that step and solidify your program, you are forever holding them back.
36:40
And just to get one last thing about Gene Smith, this is being quoted as his last thing on his list before he leaves.
36:49
I'm like, well, then why wouldn't you want to push and get this one big, not even that big, you are talking about 5,000 to 6,000 seat arena.
36:58
You go off into the sunset and say your teams, who you had the number one women's team in the last three years, and a men's team that's been top 10 to 15 pretty consistently over the last seven, eight years, gone to a Frozen Four, won a Big Ten regular season.
37:15
Like, it's not going to get worse if you put something there.
37:19
The fans do show up the last four, three games.
37:22
If they get a good sample in the second half, you're going to have sellouts where people are going to be, you're going to be getting secondary market tickets going for if you're at the 5500 seat place, you're going to be playing Michigan and Minnesota in February with Big Ten ramifications.
37:41
I just don't see how you can't find that money for something that could be a 20 year investment.
37:47
This isn't like, oh, we got to get our money back.
37:49
And you could, honestly, you could build another, you could add two rinks and make it a, make your money on the side, so to speak, you know, with minor hockey, tournaments, all that stuff.
38:01
So, you know, that's all I got.
38:05
I don't want to talk about it, but.
38:08
Well, how about that quality outdoor ice where chunks this deep were coming out?
38:15
The weather, man.
38:16
Oh man, I, you know, the coaches are saying, oh, this is great for hockey, but you know, behind the scenes, they're going, why are we playing such an important game with points on this crappy ice?
38:28
I mean, you got to do it.
38:31
Everything else about it was unbelievable, right?
38:35
I couldn't believe the scene was great.
38:37
You know, it just, they got stuck with like one of the nicest weather days in Cleveland in the middle of February is 45 and sunny, like just doesn't happen the day before it was 34 and snowing.
38:49
That would have been perfect.
38:51
I bet the ice would have been perfect throughout.
38:55
Yeah, because I was sending you messages on Twitter, what's happening in our game?
38:57
Because this game is going way over.
39:00
We're like, so what do we say?
39:01
And I'm like, man, Fox Sports, I just send you that.
39:03
I'm like, I don't want to just let you do that stuff.
39:10
But yes, I think I'd love those.
39:12
I love them for non-conference games.
39:14
I'm not big on league games for this, Veegs.
39:19
We know that Don wasn't that fond of...
39:20
I mean, he loved the outdoor game as a game, but I don't think he liked it.
39:25
It was against points when they played Ohio State.
39:28
Yeah, I think it's tricky.
39:30
You know, you kind of want your players to have that experience.
39:33
Yes.
39:33
And reward them because it's a cool...
39:36
It's a cool deal.
39:37
Like, being outdoors and skating in a different venue is really cool for the players and the families.
39:43
And all the stuff that leads up to it.
39:45
You know, the jerseys that Ohio State broke out for that game and the goalie pads.
39:49
I mean, that's pretty special.
39:52
Yeah.
39:52
But it's too bad the ice is so...
39:55
Number 27 on their team, that was my number, and I texted Tim Adams, our equipment, like, hey, you make a 27 jersey because send that my way.
40:07
I would turn in that one I never got to playing because that one's better.
40:12
I'd put that one in the print for this one from 2000.
40:18
Well, how about the games this weekend, Veegs?
40:21
Ohio State coming in, both teams are still playing for, you know, they're not playing for, well, Ohio State is playing for points, Minnesota is not, but Minnesota is playing for that number one overall seed.
40:31
So any kind of victory against Ohio State just solidifies that even more.
40:36
What are your thoughts on this weekend coming up?
40:39
Well, I thought at the start of the year, Ohio State was one of the most dangerous teams in the Big Ten, just because of their older roster and goaltending and defensemen and just the style of hockey that they play.
40:52
Steve Rolex done a great job at that program the last five plus years and really has built an identity for Ohio State Hockey.
41:01
And I think it presents a lot of challenges to Minnesota if they don't play a solid game where they protect the puck, where they make smart decisions through the neutral zone and where they put pucks on that or get to their ground game.
41:15
I think if you don't do things the right way, Ohio State can expose you.
41:19
And so it's kind of a risky weekend for Minnesota.
41:22
I know that Bob's fighting off all that rat poison saying that these games do matter and they're trying to figure things out.
41:28
But at the same point, these are still college kids and they see, you know, the schedule.
41:33
They know what's going on.
41:34
So it's gonna have to be some mind games to figure out how to get the best performance this weekend out of Minnesota, especially with that game on Saturday that's early.
41:43
We've talked about this a couple times where I get worried about Minnesota when they play that late Friday night game, that early Saturday game.
41:50
It's just you got to trick yourself a little bit to get up for it.
41:55
It's all about TV though.
41:57
People complain they want every game on TV.
41:59
So if you want every game on TV, VEGS, you can have to adjust your times a bit.
42:03
Oh, you mean what, this?
42:06
Well, even Friday night, 8 o'clock for ESPNU.
42:10
I know Matt Fick's coming in.
42:11
He's going to be calling that game for ESPNU.
42:14
And I'm not sure who you guys are sending for Big Ten for Saturday.
42:17
I think it's Dan and Ben, Climber.
42:20
There you go.
42:21
And the one thing, you know, it's funny is, and I think they're doing this because of the basketball too, is Minnesota basketball is playing before your game.
42:30
So they like kind of piggybacking when it's not the same sports, because it doesn't make any other, I can't think of any other reason why they would have Michigan game after you guys, because with the time zone, they're playing at 8 o'clock on Saturday night, where you guys are now are playing at 430, where they easily could have, you switch those and it makes complete sense, because Michigan would be playing at 530 Eastern time after a 7 o'clock game the night before.
42:58
So like that's pretty close.
42:59
And instead of having you guys in Ohio State playing at 8 o'clock and then at 430, they could have 8 o'clock and then 7 o'clock be in the second half of the doubleheader on BTN Saturday.
43:10
But I think they might catch Minnesota basketball, go right to the Minnesota hockey.
43:17
And hopefully that Minnesota basketball game doesn't tick off the Minnesota hockey fans.
43:21
It goes too late.
43:22
Otherwise, blame Rick Pizzo.
43:25
Blame Pizzo.
43:26
He'll be there with me on Saturdays.
43:28
So I'll.
43:30
He's not on Twitter anymore.
43:32
So that's I can't know.
43:33
We can't.
43:33
I will.
43:34
I will say this.
43:36
He kind of is.
43:38
But that's all.
43:39
Yeah, you know, he of course, yeah, of course he is.
43:42
But still, yes, no, I'll send him a text blame Pizzo.
43:49
I guess I'll talk about the series a little bit with with Ohio State.
43:53
And I think the big difference, like I was watching them play Penn State the week before, and it was pretty even series, like two weeks before Penn State had a week off.
44:04
Penn State late goal wins the game Friday, Ohio State late goal Saturday wins, so they split.
44:10
But the big difference is special teams.
44:13
Ohio State has really good specialty, especially the penalty kill.
44:17
Their power play is pretty solid.
44:18
It's not spectacular, but it's over 20 percent, I think.
44:22
But their penalty kill.
44:23
Deadly.
44:24
It's deadly.
44:25
Because they're number one at killing them.
44:28
Nine short-handed goals or something like that?
44:30
Ten short-handed goals.
44:31
There you go.
44:31
Got their 10th on Saturday.
44:33
I think they're only minus five all year.
44:37
I think they've given up 15 power play and gotten 10.
44:41
At one point, they were plus one.
44:44
I would say in January, they're plus one while they were short-handed.
44:50
So I think that and then Dobish and that I think is a little more solid than...
44:54
Suleyar is pretty good, but I think Dobish is right there as the most talented guy in the league.
45:01
You know, that's the side of everything.
45:03
But the special teams is where I think Buckeyes put themselves having a chance to maybe get a split at least this weekend.
45:11
Veegs, I think I recall the game that Minnesota won at Ohio State.
45:15
I think Ohio State, two of their goals were short-handed goals.
45:21
I still remember that, a couple of breakaway goals for them in that game.
45:24
It might have been Burnside had two shorties.
45:26
Yeah.
45:27
Same guy, I think.
45:31
The second game, right?
45:32
Because the Buckeyes...
45:33
Yeah, it was the second game.
45:34
The Buckeyes wild game, a lot of weird bounce goals.
45:36
Yeah, they didn't play very well that second game.
45:39
I think it might have been their only tie.
45:40
I'd have to look at the schedule, but what the score was that second game.
45:44
But I think both their goals were short-handed goals.
45:49
Yeah, and I think Jobrush got a little fatigued last year during the season, and we haven't seen any of that this year.
45:56
I don't watch a lot of Buckeye hockey start to finish, but you can watch those condensed games on Big Ten Network Plus, and you can get a feel for how things are going.
46:07
Whereas last year, it seemed like Pucks were just finding holes in his drops in the butterfly.
46:13
Those aren't happening this year, and so you're seeing a more consistent goalie down the stretch for Ohio State.
46:20
Hold on, just to go off of that, not to plug the network or anything, but you-
46:24
Go for it.
46:25
Watch the Big Ten and 60s that air on the Big Ten Network, Big Ten Hockey and 60s.
46:31
Have you seen this?
46:32
They usually do like football and basketball games where they condensed it.
46:34
They do a show every week now, it's called Big Ten Hockey and 60, where they show the highlights of all six, like if there's six conference games going on, or maybe even if it's a non-conference, if it's aired on BTN or Peacock or whatever, they have that.
46:49
Somebody, they have a production assistant or whoever condense it and make an hour show.
46:55
It has all the highlights of every game.
46:58
Yeah, because I've noticed that this year on the schedule is when you pick up a game to go on the replay, you can watch the condensed version and you can watch a whole series in about 30 minutes and watch both games.
47:09
Last, because it's mostly just the goals and big state.
47:14
Each game is a segment.
47:16
So it's about, what, seven, six minutes segments, maybe, or six, seven minutes segments, sorry.
47:24
So each game is one segment of the two game series and the next two game series.
47:29
So for fans, if you ever wanted to DVR that, then you could kind of cheat and see, you know, Cliff's notes of all the games I said to get, you want to watch Ohio State from last week because you're going to see them against Minnesota this weekend kind of thing.
47:43
So they started that last year.
47:46
It's kind of a cool little thing to have.
47:49
I've noticed it more this year.
47:50
Yeah.
47:52
So what happens this weekend, Veegs?
47:55
Oh boy.
47:56
I think there is real potential for Ohio State to come in here and get four, five, six points.
48:05
I just get that feeling.
48:07
You know, Minnesota is maybe going to have Brock Faber play, maybe not.
48:12
You know, they've got some injury issues up front where they're just kind of guys who are going to the end of the season.
48:18
I think that's part of the reason we're not seeing some of the consistency of the lines that we saw early in the year.
48:24
Guys are playing through some stuff.
48:26
So I just feel like there just might be eyes ahead to that semifinal and Ohio State can take advantage of that.
48:34
And one thing that Minnesota is capitalized on this year has been power play goals.
48:39
That first power play unit has been outstanding all year.
48:43
I think they're tops in the Big Ten for percentage and goal scored.
48:47
And they're going to get a challenge this weekend from Ohio State.
48:50
And if they are trying to rely on that kind of stuff in one line, I have a feeling Ohio State can counter that.
48:57
They can handle one line.
48:58
They can handle power play stuff.
49:00
So I think it's a dangerous weekend for the Gophers.
49:05
Interesting.
49:07
That's not what the Gopher fans want to hear, Veegs.
49:09
What are you doing?
49:10
They're more aggressive than I'm thinking, that's for sure.
49:15
Yeah, it is interesting because, you know, Buckeyes are fighting for that second spot, and they love to have that.
49:20
They'd rather play in the shot against Michigan.
49:23
You know, looking ahead, you'd rather be playing Michigan in the semifinal of the shot than at Yost.
49:28
I mean, that's not pretty Captain Obvious stuff, but I, you know, they're going to, I think they're going to need help from Notre Dame if that's to happen.
49:38
You know, I think the Buckeyes could win one, and then they do win Friday.
49:42
Then, you know, everything else is gravy, and who knows, with the quick turnaround, who knows?
49:47
But yeah, I like the Buckeyes getting points.
49:50
I just don't know how many.
49:51
Like, I don't think they're going to get swept clean, you know, maybe over time, they could lose five points, you know, like they did two weeks ago.
50:00
But I think they're going to find a way to get a point or two at the least.
50:05
I'm thinking five points to the Gophers.
50:08
Win Friday night, over time, win Saturday night, just like this past weekend.
50:11
I'm trying to be Mr.
50:12
Positive here as we move further into the depths of the season.
50:18
I mean, you just never know.
50:19
Like, you don't know how they're going to come out knowing they had a good weekend last weekend.
50:25
So the positive vibes are back.
50:27
They're not kind of chipped on their shoulder.
50:28
They might have favor back.
50:31
Doesn't mean it's a bad.
50:32
That's a good thing.
50:32
But I don't know.
50:35
You say, okay, Brock's here.
50:36
We're going to get caught watching him to see how he's doing more instead of playing their own a little bit.
50:42
I don't know.
50:45
It's going to be senior night on Saturday though.
50:47
They've got it sold out.
50:50
Oh yeah.
50:51
It's going to be big crowds, Veegs.
50:53
We're not used to big crowds, you know, or Ohio State.
50:57
We're just not.
50:58
Seriously, we're not.
51:01
The fans have shown up this year for the Gopher Hockey team.
51:04
As Randy Johnson wrote about in the Star Tribune this week, the fans have been back.
51:09
We've been talking about it all season.
51:11
The scan numbers are out there actually showing up for games.
51:14
I think that atmosphere is there, but that afternoon game, I saw someone in the comments say that's overblown.
51:20
I think we can go back and we could do that condensed game and you can watch the first period of those early Saturday games all the way through.
51:27
They're always trying to get to the air mission.
51:31
Like let's get through the first 20, 1100 and then we'll have our legs and game for the second period.
51:39
You could say it doesn't exist, but it's a real thing.
51:43
Was the Penn State series, was that in October, November?
51:47
Was that one of those?
51:48
Was it because I remember that series watching, I'm thinking Penn State won the first game and they were in the lead after the first period of game two on Saturday.
51:57
I'm like, man, they might sweep them.
52:00
And then they did tie it up, I think with a power play goal.
52:03
And then it was 1-1 and then Brzezinski and Nelson connected for two goals in the third.
52:09
And you're like, okay, they got the split.
52:11
But for a while there, it looked like, man, Penn State could sweep them here in Mariucci.
52:15
And I just can't remember if it was one of those...
52:18
There were 7 p.m.
52:19
games, but you're right.
52:20
Yeah, they didn't score until late in the second period after Penn State.
52:23
It was looking like Penn State sweep them.
52:26
And then the Brzezinski show showed up, yep.
52:29
Yeah, I remember trying to talk to a guy at the post game for that one.
52:32
And he was just kind of shaking his head.
52:34
He didn't want to talk to the media.
52:36
He felt like his team let a chance get away from them.
52:39
And he was just like, you know, we almost had it and we gave it away.
52:44
Kind of his feeling, I think.
52:46
Yeah.
52:46
And I guess the only thing I was wondering about your point with the time thing, if that was one of those games, because normally it's like, okay, you went Friday night and then you're coming back quick.
52:55
And yeah, it's a challenge because it's quick to come back.
52:58
You're like, oh, we already got one.
53:00
I think it's a different mentality to say Ohio State were to win on Friday night.
53:04
And then you're coming back quick.
53:06
You might see maybe the legs jump in early in the game.
53:10
I don't know.
53:11
It's the mental thing a lot of the time with that.
53:14
So I think a lot of it sometimes happens.
53:16
It depends on what happens Friday.
53:18
Yeah.
53:19
So basically, we're all over the place for the results this weekend, which is great.
53:23
I love it.
53:25
So officially, I've got Ohio State getting four points on the weekend.
53:29
I'll say Ohio State's getting two.
53:31
I'll say they win in overtime Friday or even maybe a tight like 3-2 win in regulation, something like that.
53:38
And then Minnesota wins Saturday.
53:40
So two, three points for Iowa State, three, four for Minnesota.
53:44
OK.
53:46
Good enough for me.
53:48
Yeah.
53:48
I mean, does it really matter at this point?
53:50
Because for Minnesota, it doesn't really.
53:52
Oh, if Minnesota can really can they lose?
53:55
I guess Quinnipiac could catch them.
53:58
But aren't they pretty?
53:59
I don't know how they lose that number one overall seed.
54:02
And even if they don't get them overall, they're pretty locked in Fargo, aren't they, at this point?
54:08
They should be.
54:08
They should be in Fargo against, you know, either the 15 or the 16 team.
54:13
Right.
54:13
That's what should happen.
54:14
The only way that gets messed up is if North Dakota wins an auto bid and they're a four seed and they'll have to go to Fargo then.
54:22
And then Minnesota will have to go somewhere else.
54:25
And they can't go to the Allentown probably.
54:27
So be honest, wouldn't they?
54:32
I don't think that is making just from what I've seen and what?
54:36
Yeah, what a shame.
54:38
What a shame.
54:40
Oh, I know.
54:41
You never know in that, but they're not.
54:43
They're going to be on the road in the first round.
54:44
Yeah, it's going to be tough for them.
54:46
It's going to be tough for them.
54:47
Well, thanks for joining us, Cappy.
54:49
It's always great to have you on.
54:51
Flying by.
54:53
Uh-oh, Veegs is looking out.
54:54
He's already looking for his beverage, getting ready for overtime.
54:56
Gotta get that beverage ready.
55:00
It's been a long day here in Minnesota.
55:02
Oh, it has been.
55:04
So, I'm going to be joining you there, Veegs.
55:07
I'm here today in Chicago, which I hate, but it's better tomorrow, because tomorrow it'll all be gone and there won't be any events, whereas you guys are going to be.
55:18
It hasn't been bad here.
55:19
It's just not as bad as they said.
55:22
We're supposed to get over it like close to 20 at first.
55:24
Now, I think we might get a foot total from this.
55:28
It's just something.
55:29
It's weird.
55:29
So, you know, a lot of shoveling.
55:32
All right.
55:32
Of course, we want to thank Cappy for joining us again for this with this week's podcast.
55:37
Next week, we'll be back and we're just going to be recapping, you know, what happens this weekend and previewing the Big Ten tournament with all the other teams, not Minnesota.
55:46
For those of you watching, stay tuned for a bit of overtime.
55:50
For the rest of you, we'll catch you next week on The GPL Podcast.
