Now, here's Hammy, Vego and your host, Jupiter.
0:40
Good evening, and welcome to The GPL Podcast, episode number 133.
0:50
Yes, we've been here a while, guys, and we took a few weeks off, after we had some technical issues before that, and then all of a sudden, our coach was gone, and since then, we've had a Frozen 4 Championship.
1:03
Duluth won it again, guys.
1:06
Good for the inner schools, but boy, probably not good for Minnesota that UMD is winning another title there, Veegs.
1:16
Yeah, UMD has been doing well recruiting players the last couple of years, and this is certainly gonna help.
1:22
Scott Sandlin was pretty worried about his team, headed into the NCHC tournament.
1:27
They dropped a bomb there, and looked like their season was over, and the Gophers let him in, and they took advantage of their chance, but they've got quite the run going up there.
1:39
They do, and they had how many young defensemen?
1:42
Six of them?
1:43
Five or six?
1:46
And Wolf isn't exactly a dynamic guy on the back end either, so they're young players who are moving the puck.
1:54
And we've complained here for years, Hammy, that our team is young, our team is young.
1:59
Duluth just won a title with five freshman defensemen.
2:03
I mean, that's not all, but I mean, that's not all they had to win, but you know what?
2:07
To have that good of youth on the D-Core, and defense wins championships is what they say, but you know, defense has kind of killed us the last few years, and it's not a problem in Duluth.
2:20
What are they doing?
2:23
Well, I mean, I don't know that I see it as cut and dry.
2:27
I mean, they have a couple of guys that are real good at the freshman, and you have to give them props for that.
2:33
To me, I think it just kind of is the fact that they won, it just sort of, you know, what we always talk about, if you get in, you have a chance.
2:42
You know what I mean?
2:43
Because I don't, look, I'm not taking anything away from them, but I don't think anybody would say that Duluth was the best team in college hockey this year.
2:51
But when they did win the games when they counted the most, and so you have to give them credit for that.
2:57
But I think that's why everybody just talks about, get in, get in, get in, because they weren't playing great right before the NCAAs.
3:06
They get in and they go on a quick four-game run, they win it all and it's hooray, hooray, and everybody's gonna remember that.
3:14
But those are the kinds of things that I think people lose sight of in the long haul.
3:19
I think about the big picture.
3:21
I don't remember who it was.
3:23
Was it Morrison from Michigan so many years ago that said that the best team doesn't always win?
3:28
I can't remember who it was, but I think that this is kind of an example of that.
3:33
You have to give them credit for winning, but I don't think that they were the best team this year.
3:36
So it is what it is.
3:38
It is what it is, but you know what?
3:41
It doesn't really matter, does it, Veegs?
3:43
You were there.
3:44
How was the vibe?
3:45
I mean, how was the Frozen Four besides Duluth winning again?
3:50
I thought it was a pretty good vibe at Excel.
3:54
It helped that Minnesota Duluth made the tournament.
3:56
You could definitely feel that they had more fans there for that weekend than they did for the NCHC weekend, and they just took advantage of their run.
4:06
It's amazing to think of it when Duluth was in the opening game against Minnesota State.
4:12
They were down 2-0, and it looked like they were dead.
4:15
They played poorly the weekend before.
4:18
They didn't play a great first period against the Mavericks.
4:20
The Mavericks came out gunning.
4:22
Then the Mavericks didn't get a shot in the second period and let Duluth in to it, and they just went on the run from there.
4:28
I think it really helped them that they got out to leads in the next three games and they were able to hold on.
4:34
But it was a pretty pro-Bulldog atmosphere around St.
4:38
Paul, and they took advantage of it, and they celebrated like they wanted to.
4:43
And that's 2 championships up there in Duluth in the last decade.
4:49
And it's been a little quiet here at Minnesota since 2003 after a long dead time in the 80s and 90s.
5:00
Hammey, Duluth is becoming a power now.
5:05
I mean, that's pretty nice.
5:08
Well, I think it'll hurt them a little bit now that they've lost their top assistant to St.
5:12
Cloud.
5:12
He definitely was very valuable to them in terms of recruiting.
5:15
So I think that that will do something.
5:17
Certainly, having AMSOIL open up has definitely helped them.
5:21
That's why Lutie and them were so adamant at his press conference about making sure the facilities at the U are where they absolutely should be, given the status that the program has and the money that that program brings to the athletic department.
5:36
They have to continue to invest.
5:38
Some of these smaller schools in recent years, they've done that.
5:41
St.
5:41
Cloud did it.
5:42
Duluth obviously had that.
5:44
I mean, you've seen some of these schools that have been doing pretty well lately that had those kinds of investments.
5:51
That's something that the Gophers kind of let slip, if we're to be honest about it.
5:54
That's not something that should be happening at the U.
5:58
The one thing that you would say for a Big Ten school, they should have the ability to continually invest in their facilities and their program and keep it at the top of the heap.
6:09
They weren't doing that for a little while, and it kind of caught up to them.
6:11
So, hopefully, now with the new locker room and some of these other things they have in the hopper, that will kind of sway things back in the direction that we want it to be.
6:21
And Veegs, that's some of what Lucci is going to be staying on for the next year, isn't he?
6:25
He's going to be working on those projects of raising money for the new weight room and shrinking the ice and a lot of those types of things.
6:35
That's kind of what his deal is going to be for the next year, isn't it?
6:39
Yeah, it was something he struggled with as the coach.
6:42
He had a hard time getting people to give money to the school and I think it's because some of the alumni and some of the donors felt like they didn't want to give the money to him to support his era at the program.
6:56
Well, now that isn't an issue anymore.
6:58
They're giving money to support the university because they want to support Minnesota Hockey.
7:03
It's not supporting Don Luccia.
7:04
So I think he'll be more effective there, but it's true that they fell behind.
7:09
Everybody in the state made upgrades.
7:11
It's not just Minnesota Duluth and St.
7:14
Cloud.
7:14
Bemidji made upgrades, Minnesota State's made upgrades, then the neighbors to the west, North Dakota obviously made upgrades and Wisconsin did as well.
7:23
There's more competition than ever for players in Minnesota.
7:28
People can say certain things about Eric Kaler to criticize him, but for the most part, he's supported athletics and he's got an AD right now, Mark Coyle, who makes pretty fast decisions and they've made tons of improvements in that area in the last couple of years.
7:46
So what now, guys?
7:49
That's kind of the theme of tonight.
7:52
We've got Matsuko as our coach now, and now we're kind of playing the waiting game hand me of who his assistants are going to be.
7:58
Everyone's like, oh, who do they keep?
8:02
Do they keep Gensel?
8:03
Do they keep Bell?
8:04
Do they keep maybe just Bell?
8:06
Is Gensel on his way out?
8:07
It's sounding like Gensel's on his way out, but it's been fairly quiet.
8:12
Maybe the possibility of Raboyne coming here.
8:16
What do you know what's going on, Hammeh?
8:18
I just think they want to announce both assistants at the same time.
8:22
It doesn't really make sense to have one announce then announce another one.
8:27
So I think that that's mainly what it is.
8:31
I've heard different names.
8:33
I don't believe Gensl will be back.
8:34
I'm almost positive about that.
8:36
I've heard mixed things on Bell.
8:38
I've heard he wasn't going to come back, but then I've heard that he was.
8:43
But then, I don't know on that one.
8:45
That one to me is a little bit cloudy.
8:49
I've heard a couple names.
8:50
We've talked about it on GPL.
8:54
You already mentioned one.
8:55
You mentioned, I've heard, I actually heard today that Steve Miller actually might have met with the coach.
9:04
I don't know if that was happenstance because they have had some of that Final 54 stuff going on in town.
9:12
So, it might be getting scouted by other schools and therefore, maybe that person is just in town, so people maybe rumor mill it.
9:20
I don't know.
9:21
I think it's going to be announced pretty soon because I would imagine they'd want to have their assistants all figured out by the time they go down to the coaches convention.
9:29
I think that's next week, so I would think that that would be what they would want to get accomplished.
9:35
I would hope it would get announced pretty soon, but we'll have to see.
9:38
Vegoe, have you heard anything with your work with the athletic?
9:43
Are they investigating?
9:44
Are you investigating?
9:47
Not so much for the athletic, but I'm a little more confident than Hammy that Scott Bell is going to stick around on staff.
9:54
I think he's a guy who's really plugged in to all the local scenes, especially with the pipeline of recruits that have already committed.
10:02
You know, as we've talked about, we can't wake out.
10:04
You know, they look really solid for 19, 20, 21 for players coming in, and Scott Bell's recruited a lot of those guys.
10:12
And then Mason Nevers was a pretty recent commit.
10:15
He's a Dinah guy, obviously a Scott Bell connection there.
10:19
So I think he's going to be sticking around, and I think they're waiting to make an announcement until they figure out the other guy.
10:25
I do think it's telling that Reboin wasn't too interested in applying for the St.
10:29
Cloud head coaching job.
10:30
You know, he's pretty public about that.
10:33
So I think that makes him a pretty good candidate to be the other assistant coach.
10:36
Well, if we're to be honest, though, I mean, I don't think he had much of a shot.
10:40
I mean, it's kind of like, I mean, you know, it's kind of like, hey, I would love to be the CEO of Apple, but I don't think I got much of a shot, you know what I'm saying?
10:48
So it's like, I don't, you know, I just think that that's probably more a strategic thing where he's intelligent enough to know that, you know, my odds of getting the, I haven't even been a USHL coach, you know, let alone a college coach and, you know, sometimes, you know, yeah, it's about timing, but I just have a feeling that St.
11:09
Cloud probably, you know, he knew he wasn't going to get it.
11:11
So, and yeah, see, I don't know.
11:14
The only thing I kind of wonder about him is that if he is like looking for an open USHL head coaching job, is that part of the reason why there's been a delay, you know, like maybe, you know, Motzko is giving him the opportunity to get that figured out.
11:27
And if he doesn't get one, then, you know, maybe he gives him a job at the U.
11:31
I don't know, but he wouldn't be my first pick, to be honest with you, but I guess I'm not going to complain either.
11:38
If it happens, it happens.
11:40
Yeah, I kind of read into Brett Larson's interview on Beyond the Pond a little bit as well, where he said he's pretty confident Gibbons is going to be back, but he's not sure about the rest of the staff.
11:51
So reading into that as well gives you a little hint that he might be moving on somewhere else.
11:57
At least Gibbons is staying at St.
11:58
Cloud.
11:58
That's good with me.
12:03
That's good with me.
12:04
Well, Hammeh, I know you've talked about a little bit on GPL.
12:11
Are people going to be offended if they don't keep some Minnesota guys?
12:17
Yeah, as an assistant coach.
12:18
I mean, that's kind of the thing you were looking into earlier today.
12:21
Yeah, well, I mean, that to me is like the million dollar question because I've heard all these different names and I'm like, I was even having a conversation with a scout today and he was the one who had mentioned Miller to me and I'm like, how is this going to ever fly to have no alums on the staff if that happened?
12:43
You know, I mean, if like Bell wasn't retained and the Reboyan is one and they like, you know, a Miller or somebody like that, it's like, I don't see how that's going to fly.
12:53
You know, especially given how much crap Lucia was taking.
12:56
It's like, wait a minute, you're going to give Lucia all this shit over the years about not being an alum, but at least, you know, he always had, you know, a leader Gensel or he had Patoni.
13:06
I mean, he only had one year where he didn't have any alums and that was John Hill and Mike Hastings.
13:12
So, I mean, I just don't see how that's going to fly.
13:17
I don't know, to me, it would be a little bit ironic and kind of hypocritical to suddenly be like, giving Lucia all this shit and then all of a sudden, we got a staff that has no alum.
13:27
So, I don't know, that's going to be an interesting one for me.
13:30
I still have the feeling there's going to be at least one alum on the staff.
13:34
So, I don't think that'll end up happening, but we'll see.
13:39
I mean, you saw what I wrote on GPL.
13:40
I mean, pretty much every BigTen and NCHC team has at least one alum on the staff.
13:48
There was maybe one or two that didn't, like Penn State didn't, but I mean, they're a brand new program, so that's kind of a duh.
13:56
And I think Western Michigan was one as well.
13:59
But I mean, for the most part, all the other schools had at least, you know, one alum.
14:03
So, I think that's likely going to happen here at least too.
14:09
What do you think, Veegs?
14:11
You think he's got to have at least one Minnesota guy there?
14:14
I think it certainly helps.
14:16
I don't think it's going to be as hypocritical because Motsko did try to be a gopher.
14:21
He did go to the U.
14:22
He did try to make the team and he got cut a couple of times and ended up at St.
14:25
Cloud.
14:26
Then he came back and was on a staff that wants a national title.
14:29
So, I think he's as close to being an M man as you can get.
14:34
Yeah.
14:35
So, I think the alums are going to look the other way and I think they're pretty excited to have him as the coach.
14:39
There was a good turnout of alumni when the coach hiring was announced and they had their press conference.
14:45
He's an engaged person who really wants to have an open door policy with those guys.
14:52
Unlike Lucia, he's going to be real in communication with those guys over the year.
14:58
I will say that I think that is one benefit that he has is I think he's more of a guy that I think people look at.
15:07
We saw Lucia in his press conference and he was just a different person than what we generally saw over the years.
15:13
It was just more of a regular guy.
15:18
There's more humanity there.
15:20
I don't mean to make him sound like he wasn't a human, but he just seemed more of a regular guy.
15:27
Standoffish.
15:28
Very standoffish.
15:29
I'm just saying there was a certain distance that you kind of felt with him.
15:34
I don't think it was an arrogance thing.
15:35
I just think that maybe some people are introverted and it comes across as being aloof and they don't mean it that way, but it comes across that way.
15:46
I think that he was misunderstood a bit in that sense.
15:51
I think that Moscow is probably a little bit different of a personality where you're not going to have that as much.
15:57
He's probably going to be more of a down-to-earth, connected guy with the people than maybe what we saw with Don Luchiy over the years.
16:07
Don had to work really hard.
16:09
He wanted to stay on script, on message because he had gotten so much criticism.
16:14
Whereas Moscow is coming from St.
16:16
Cloud where maybe there wasn't as much scrutiny on him.
16:20
He's a little more off the cuff right now.
16:22
We'll see what happens as the big spotlight shines on him here in the Twin Cities.
16:28
I can see that changing maybe.
16:33
Even Luchiy, he came from Colorado College and obviously there wasn't huge pressure there as well.
16:41
Even in his early years, he seemed to be that same standoffish type of guy.
16:47
I'm sure that his defense mechanisms got built up over the years with some of the criticism and some of the crap he got from not being an alum.
16:55
I'm sure that that increased, but I don't know that he was ever a guy that you felt was overly approachable, even in his early years.
17:05
By the way, Hammy Mote says you have $1 in the swear jar already.
17:10
Well, you know, O-Tay, Mote.
17:13
Mote likes to listen, so that's good.
17:15
He's been commenting here.
17:17
He wants to talk about recruits, and he hates Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.
17:22
He says it was good for the dog, so Mote's into the podcast tonight, guys.
17:27
It's nice to have him back around.
17:30
No cheap shots at Mav Stink, though.
17:32
I haven't heard any of that yet.
17:34
Yeah, actually, he just says, one of his comments is, I hate Marcia, Marcia, Marcia, despise Mav Stinks.
17:43
And he doesn't mind the filthy, dirty dogs.
17:48
Well, we do have some questions about recruiting and what's going to happen from here on out.
17:53
But before we get to that, let's listen to our sponsor.
17:58
vintagemnhockey.com is a proud sponsor of the GPL Podcast.
18:03
Well, what is Vintage MN Hockey?
18:06
Well, it's kind of the place to get all of your history of Minnesota hockey, from the pros, to the minors, to the collegiate teams, to even the high school teams.
18:16
All information about any of those teams can be found on vintagemnhockey.com.
18:21
They also have great interviews with some historical Minnesota hockey figures, like John Mayessich and Lou Nani, Glenn Sanmore, some of the greats of Minnesota hockey.
18:30
So make sure you check out those interviews.
18:32
It's a really great thing.
18:34
But as I always say, I think my favorite part is the store.
18:38
The store, you can buy a custom historical jersey from the Gophers or the Bulldogs or some of your favorite high school teams.
18:45
And if you do make a purchase, just use the code GPLPodcast, all one word, and you'll get 10% off your order.
18:52
So make sure you visit vintagemnhockey.com and follow them on Twitter at VintageMNHockey.
18:59
All right, Nate Wells wants to know, Veegs, if you miss them yet.
19:03
Well, obviously, I saw that there was a Pitbull concert coming to Minnesota, and I'm afraid that would be a good reunion spot.
19:09
That's a little weird, you know, not running into the same people at availability every week.
19:18
Drew, Nate and I were the stable of people who were there most consistently this year, so it's a little different not having those every week.
19:25
Yeah, and it'll probably be different next year too, once Monsko takes over, a different voice, and it might be a little refreshing, I guess.
19:35
Yeah, it'll be a change, it'll be interesting, I know he's a more off-the-cuff, relaxed guy, so it'll be interesting to see how those go.
19:41
All right, Hamme, what do we have to look forward to next season?
19:48
And I mean that in recruiting wise.
19:51
We just lost Middleset, we lost Lindgren.
19:53
Who's going to come in?
19:54
And who's going to save us next year?
19:57
Well, I don't know if we're going to see anybody that's a savior.
20:02
Middleset didn't even save us per se this year.
20:07
I think it's just going to be interesting to see what the new voice in the room is going to bring to the players that were on the team this year and to see what kind of happens if it kind of re-energizes some of these guys.
20:23
I think we talked about it in the last podcast.
20:25
Some of the players, I think, yes, some of them are dinged up, but I also believe that some of them maybe didn't take necessarily the same attitude coming into the season, especially after coming off of a successful prior season.
20:38
I think that that had an impact on things.
20:41
Maybe this last year was a hard lesson for some of them.
20:44
Maybe the new voice in the room will kind of get some of these guys back.
20:50
We all know that Motsko likes up and down the rink kind of a style.
20:54
His teams have generally been pretty good scoring teams.
20:58
I'm sure some of these guys will be excited at the prospect of having, not that Lucia was exactly playing the trap, but I think that certainly Motsko brings that kind of a reputation as an offensive coach.
21:10
That'll be a positive for some of them as well.
21:12
Now, do we know if the Nevers kid was a Lucia-Bell type of get or is that a Motsko get, guys?
21:21
Well, I know what Vig's opinion is, so go ahead, Vig.
21:25
I feel like it's a Bell commit.
21:27
Motsko hasn't really gone after Edina type players in the past and there's a lot of Edina guys committed to the program right now and there's a lot of Edina guys on the program right now and I feel that that's more of a Bell-Lucia connection.
21:42
I think that that's a Lu-Nanny connection.
21:47
No, I'm not joking about that either.
21:50
I honestly believe that that's a thanks for the help, Lu.
21:56
And I mean, because they, I'm not saying he's not a good player, but I think that when you're, I think actually they might even be neighbors.
22:03
I don't even know for a hundred percent, but I know there's definitely a connection there.
22:09
And I played against his dad in baseball back in the day in high school.
22:13
Old Tommy Nevers?
22:15
Yeah, he was a shortstop.
22:18
He was a good player.
22:20
Obviously, he got, you know, did well.
22:22
But you know, I don't know, I don't know that that was necessarily a kid we had to have.
22:28
And so I have a feeling that that was more of a, you know, wink wink kind of a deal.
22:36
But I mean, I'm not trying to, you know, I hopefully he's going to turn out to be a really good player.
22:40
I'm not saying he's not a good player.
22:41
He obviously was successful at Edina.
22:43
But I also kind of feel like, well, I don't know that that was one that we absolutely had to have like right now, you know, and for a new coach to come in.
22:53
And I just, I think that their main thing right now is finding maybe a couple guys that they can have immediate help from.
23:02
And that's more of the vibe that I think that you're going to see with Motzko than, you know, is more the immediacy of some things as opposed to, you know, some of the things a couple of years down the line right now.
23:14
All right, well, Veegs, who's going to save us?
23:22
Which freshman's going to come in and dazzle us next year, we hope?
23:25
Well, kind of like Hammy said, I don't think there are freshmen who can come in and dazzle McLaughlin.
23:30
Might be that guy.
23:31
You know, he's a talented player for Chicago and the USHL who's been productive all year, but I don't think he's a savior.
23:38
I think what's going to turn this team around is figuring out how to unlock guys like Sadek and Zulestorf, you know, and Phillips and figuring out ways for those guys to be more productive at the college level.
23:50
I think that's the biggest challenge to Motska and whatever his staff is, is trying to figure out how to get those guys playing and how to get, you know, even Tyler Nanny going, you know, playing more consistent, figuring out how to use his offensive skill while not making mistakes.
24:05
So that's going to be the biggest challenge for the team moving forward because they have plenty of talent.
24:10
I think coming into the season, we were looking at their forward group as a pretty deep group.
24:15
And even though they've had a couple of guys graduate and sign early, there's still a lot of talent on the roster.
24:21
It's not as bad as it looked this year.
24:24
Well, we also had some guys who just didn't perform.
24:26
Yeah, I mean, she and Novak were hurt all season or coming back from injury.
24:32
You know, I think Hammy downplays that a little bit, but I don't think those guys were healthy all year.
24:37
I think they rushed back into play and I don't think they were ever truly healthy.
24:41
And you know, they were trying to play through it and you know, I thought there could have been some things done to kind of shake up the lineup during the season to improve production and that never happened.
24:53
Yeah, we kind of talked about that during the season, like the brishtead probably should have sat a couple games just to send a message.
25:00
It never happened and he went out with a whimper.
25:03
That was it.
25:04
He's gone.
25:05
He's back in Sweden, isn't he?
25:08
He's staying to graduate and he'll play in Sweden next year.
25:13
Okay.
25:13
But another thing that we saw just a few days ago is they had the awards for the Gophers and a lot of freshmen got their letter jackets, including Mr.
25:24
Middlestead.
25:25
But we also saw quite a few of those.
25:28
Two of them had slings on, Hammeh.
25:30
Did you notice that, that some guys had some little minor surgery, anything we need to worry about?
25:36
No, I mean, not that, I mean, we're so far off yet.
25:40
You know, I don't think that any of that stuff is major.
25:43
Just like, you know, sometimes you have to clean up a few things.
25:45
True.
25:46
You know, I mean, I just, you get dinged and especially shoulders.
25:50
I mean, you kind of just want to, usually those aren't going to be something that are going to put you out a long time.
25:55
And if you are going to be out a long time, it's usually something that you happen during the season and none of these guys were out of the lineup to that degree.
26:02
So I don't think it's going to be anything major in that sense.
26:06
Now Veegs, did we ever get a sense from the players about the disappointment of their season ending so early?
26:13
I mean, when they lost Penn State, there were still at the time 99% chance they were going to get in.
26:22
Even that day that they didn't make it, there was still a 98% chance they were going to get in or whatever.
26:26
And there had to have been a lot of disappointment on these kids.
26:30
Did we ever hear from a lot of these guys?
26:34
Not really for the media availability stuff.
26:38
I sensed more a lot of frustration most of the season, even when they were doing well.
26:44
You just didn't really sense a lot of contentment going on in the locker room.
26:48
You thought maybe they had something going when they got a little streak before Penn State.
26:53
But I think this was a tough year for a lot of guys on the team.
26:56
But a lot of conflict going on and not a very close group from what you could tell from availability.
27:03
Even a couple of guys saying after games or they lost, not everybody was on the same page.
27:09
It's kind of rare to have guys call each other out like that.
27:14
I mean, bad locker room, Hammeh?
27:20
Well, I mean, it gets underplayed when we talk about recruiting and whatever, but because people fall in love with what they see statistically or if a guy can skate really fast or whatever.
27:32
But the reality is sometimes you have to really be careful about the character and the personalities that you bring into a locker room because chemistry does count.
27:42
And I know from having talked to Genzel after the season that one of the things that he felt they were lacking was just a lot of toughness in front of both offensively and defensively around the net.
27:55
I know that if he had ended up being the head coach that he was definitely going to focus more heavily on kind of some guys that kind of come from more blue collar backgrounds and maybe have a little more greediness to them, maybe a little bit more of a work ethic and character that maybe we haven't seen with certain players that maybe come from backgrounds that are a little more privileged.
28:20
I'm not saying that players from those backgrounds don't work hard all the time and whatever, but sometimes they don't.
28:25
And you kind of need some of those guys that bring that kind of work ethic and character and some of that kind of down-to-earth attitude and maybe we were lacking a little bit in that.
28:37
So that would probably, that wouldn't shock me.
28:41
Okay, guys, we've got some questions via Twitter that have come in over the last couple of months.
28:47
Well, I could scroll back and even go back even further, I guess.
28:50
But let's hit a couple that we saw, that I saw today.
28:54
Tom DiMartino, he kind of wants to know, did the Gophers switch gear providers this year instead of Bauer?
28:59
Do we know this?
29:01
Are they switching providers?
29:03
I know that Motska was a CCM guy.
29:05
So we could see a switch to more CCM stuff even during his Let's Play Hockey announcement.
29:12
He had a CCM jacket on instead of a Bauer Gopher one.
29:16
So something to watch for there.
29:18
Because yeah, they're wondering if there's going to be new uniforms because, you know, we've had a couple alternates but have the basic, I mean, the uniforms have been pretty much the same for quite a while, haven't they?
29:33
You're asking the wrong dude, man.
29:35
I don't pay a lick of attention to that stuff.
29:40
I'm in the fashion, dude, but I'm not in that kind of fashion.
29:43
I don't know, he's just asking.
29:46
He had a bunch of questions.
29:48
He's like, new assistants, next year's roster, new defenseman.
29:54
He kind of wants to know all of what's going to happen, unfortunately.
29:56
We just don't know.
29:58
And I'm guessing the uniform thing is a contract thing anyway, isn't it, Veegs?
30:02
Was it probably every few years they have those kind of contracts?
30:06
Yep, every few years it'll open up.
30:07
I'm not sure the details with Nike Bauer, as Minnesota is a pretty prevalent Nike school, but hockey sometimes gets the exception.
30:18
One guy wants to know about the upcoming recruiting classes, possible immediate additions.
30:23
Hemi, do we see any changes, people coming in early, because of, you know, like a Lindgren leaving or things like that?
30:31
Well, I think what we saw recently was, you know, Ben Meyers, or Meyers, I can't remember, was it Meyers?
30:38
I think it's, in any case, he had committed to Nebraska-Omaha, I don't know about, I think it was like early March or a little over a month ago, and heard, I don't know if he's announced it on his Twitter, but I've heard that he's committed to the Gophers now.
30:55
I believe that they even had that in a lineup chart in his USHL team, so, you know, he's going to be, I think, kind of what we're looking at, maybe a little bit of an older player coming in.
31:08
And he had a pretty solid year this year in USHL, and so I think that that's probably what they're, you know, I've heard a rumor that there's, and I don't even want to say what the background of the player is, but I've heard that there's a player that Denver and the Gophers are finalists.
31:32
Kind of lost you there for a second, Hammeh.
31:37
No, yeah, I was going to say, in any case, I heard that there was a player that the Gophers are looking into that's a pretty good player, but had been uncommitted, and I think it's just because of his background, maybe made it a little bit more of a challenge.
31:52
So that might be something that happens for next fall.
31:56
I don't know yet.
31:56
We'll have to see on that one.
31:58
So I just think that there's, like I said earlier, I think that they're looking more for what's maybe a more immediate help, and I think that that might push back some of the guys that you might think are going to come in.
32:10
We've talked about Jackson Nelson or some of these other guys, Garrett Waite, is he going to come in or not this year?
32:17
I think that that's some of what they're probably figuring out now, the coaches trying to figure that out.
32:25
It might be where some of these guys don't end up coming here because they feel like, hey, we've got to find a more immediate help with something and maybe defensively or whatever.
32:37
Maybe that pushes a guy out to the point where he just wants to go elsewhere.
32:41
You just never know.
32:42
Coaches aren't married to guys that they didn't recruit, so they have an easy out in a sense like, hey, well, I didn't recruit you and I'm not sure I see you in my plans.
32:56
I can release, you can be released and find another option, whatever it might be.
33:01
So I think that has yet to play out with some of these guys.
33:05
And Veegs, that makes it even more tricky.
33:07
You have a coaching change, he might want to go in a different direction.
33:11
And plus, I'm looking at another question like here from Tim Hapke.
33:14
He says, do you see any other early departures this off season?
33:18
Another early departure could just really throw a lot of chaos into Moscow trying to put a team together this fall.
33:27
Yeah, I think that's why Moscow has been so busy at USHL rinks, at the HP camps and stuff and just trying to get a handle on the players that are out there and are available and figuring out what he needs.
33:43
Myers was a guy who was committed to Maine and then Nebraska, so he's flipped a couple times.
33:48
Stucker was a guy who was committed to CC and then committed to Minnesota.
33:52
And a new coach has the opportunity to kind of reset the timelines for all these guys because Minnesota struggled so much to get older, you know, because a lot of times when they have these early departures, they just grab somebody from the class that they wanted to have play a year juniors.
34:08
Well, this is an opportunity for Moscow to say, hey, you know, I maybe I want you in the program, but I need you to play until you're 19 in the USHL and it's a great opportunity for him to push some guys out a little bit and bring in some of his guys, maybe you can bring a little bit more grit than who are going to be 20 next year.
34:26
So that's the big challenge right there.
34:29
And I think that that, like I said, I think that's an advantage for him is that he has the ability right now to because he's not backing out on any promises that he personally made, you know, so he can come in and play that kind of a role where it's like, hey, I need you to, you know, I need you to push yourself out another year or whatever.
34:48
Or it might be, you know, I think he's certainly going to look at opportunities to, you know, go after some kids that are already verbally committed elsewhere.
34:56
I mean, I think the irony to me is I think you're going to quickly see that the guy that was all about the gentleman's agreement when he was at St.
35:02
Cloud is going to be like, yeah, what the hell with that stuff now that he's at the U, because now he sees the other side of the coin where, hey, it doesn't really benefit me to have this gentleman's agreement.
35:13
So I'm not going to bother with it.
35:16
So it's what I've always said is that these coaches will say what's ever going to benefit them.
35:21
You know, that's what they're going to support.
35:22
It's not because they have some great character that other coaches don't have.
35:27
It's like, no, it's benefiting them to have this gentleman's agreement.
35:31
That's why they want it.
35:32
And the guys that don't benefit from it, they don't want it because it doesn't benefit them.
35:36
So it's like, it's all a matter of where your position is at that time.
35:41
And I think that we'll see that with our current coach now.
35:45
I'll also be interested to see how he changes his tune on early recruiting.
35:50
Because one of the things that's going to be talked about at the convention next week is if they're going to put in a rule that says you can't contact recruits until Jan 1 of their sophomore year.
36:00
And that's something that the Big Ten has been pretty vocal to institute.
36:04
I know it's something that Brett Larson has talked about why to institute when he was on Beyond the Pond.
36:09
A lot of their coaches think it could be a good thing.
36:12
Some of the coaches out east who have to compete with Major Junior don't like it.
36:17
And a lot of the NCHC guys didn't like it at the time when I talked to them.
36:20
But it's something that might be coming to College Hockey here pretty soon.
36:23
And it would definitely benefit Minnesota not have to recruit all those 14, 15 year old kids and focus on the older players.
36:32
So the question I have is, are they trying to get together to make a recommendation to the NCAA to make a rule or is it something where it's going to be just like the gentleman's agreement where it's like, hey, none of us are going to do it because, let's be honest, none of these dudes.
36:48
It would be a rule.
36:49
It's something that the Ivy League and lacrosse and a couple other sports are looking into.
36:56
Yeah, so it would be okay because that I could believe in, but there's no way in hell these dudes are going to police themselves because they've proven to be utter failures at doing that kind of stuff.
37:06
You know, you give them a loophole, you know, they're going to find a way to work around it.
37:10
So unless it's an NCAA rule, it's just going to be wasted breath.
37:14
So that's the idea is to make it an NCAA rule.
37:18
Yeah, well, then I mean, I think that would be great for everybody involved.
37:21
I definitely and to be honest with you, the people that talk about, you know, major juniors and all, they might pluck players away.
37:28
It's like, you know what, if they're going to pluck players away, then let them because they're obviously not committed to college hockey anyway.
37:35
So I don't know what the hell they're whining about.
37:37
It's like there's a kid who's going to back out of his commitment, you know, because you didn't give him a scholarship or he or because he's going to go that route because you didn't give him a scholarship offer at 15.
37:48
It's like, all right, see you later.
37:49
I mean, honest to God, there's enough players out there where if you lose, you know, 20 guys to major juniors that are pretty good players, it's like, so what?
37:57
These days, I mean, you're going to find 20 good players to replace them.
38:01
Maybe they're not going to be first round picks, fine, but you're still going to have a high quality, you know, college hockey environment, so let them go, you know.
38:10
So I don't think it's kind of a weak, you know, rationale is that whole major junior thing.
38:18
Okay, one thing I just kind of wanted to talk about a little bit here, guys, is the influence of one Mr.
38:29
Lou Nanny.
38:32
Obviously, the guy loves the program, but, you know, from what we've heard of some of the panel to get the coaches, there's something about Lou Nanny's influence that's starting to bother me down at the U.
38:49
Am I wrong in thinking this, guys?
38:54
Well, for me, I mean, I've already made it very clear.
38:57
I said it on Twitter.
38:58
I mean, to me, he should never have been a part of the interview process.
39:02
We've got lots of alums out there that can provide a quality voice.
39:06
I think you heard what Jordan Leopold on Beyond the Pond kind of talk about this.
39:12
Look, I know he's done a lot for Gopher Hockey and Minnesota Hockey, and that's great, but to me, you've got a grandson on the team.
39:21
One of the guys you're interviewing was his position coach.
39:24
So if you disagreed with how he was played, and let's be honest, it wasn't like he was getting the prime spots all year and he even played forward at times.
39:34
I mean, you know what I'm saying?
39:36
To me, that's just a conflict of interest.
39:40
To me, it was a little embarrassing to me, that coil.
39:43
To me, that was fricking ridiculous.
39:44
It's like, dude, use your fricking head.
39:46
That's, to me, a no-brainer, where you just don't have a guy in the room that has that kind of a potential bias.
39:53
I don't care who it is.
39:56
There's lots of smart hockey people that went to the U.
39:59
It's not just Lou Nani that has a brain.
40:02
And so I just think that that was a dumb, dumb thing to do.
40:05
They should have had, hey, have Nicoletti in there.
40:08
Have some, maybe have a different generation than just Lou Nani, you know what I'm saying?
40:13
And I just think that was a bad decision.
40:16
Well, I think one problem, Veegs, is that, boy, Lou Nani does a lot of fundraising for the UN.
40:23
It's not just hockey.
40:24
It's for football.
40:25
It's for a lot of things.
40:28
But I do agree that there's got to be some separation there.
40:34
The only kind of curveball I throw at this conversation is I think Coyle had his mind made up months ago that Matzka was his guy, and this kind of committee to interview candidates at the end was almost kind of a dog and pony show.
40:50
I think he had his mind made up.
40:51
You look at how he hires coaches for other sports like Lindsey Whalen and PJ Fleck, and Mark Coyle kind of has his mind made up before the job is even open.
41:02
So I think this is just trying to get buy-in from Lou Nani because they need to raise 60, 70 million dollars still for the projects they have on the docket.
41:12
And he wants the buy-in from Lou Nani to make that happen.
41:15
And he thinks including him in the process is going to make that more likely to happen and raise the money, then he's going to do it.
41:23
I think it's probably unfair to guys like Mike Gensel if that's the process that was put in place.
41:30
But that's what Mark Coyle wanted to do.
41:32
And I think he got his guy whether or not he had a committee or not.
41:36
Well, I mean, I don't disagree with that.
41:38
But if you already have your mind made up to me, then you have to start thinking about what's the perception going to be.
41:44
And to me, it would have been a lot smarter to just remove that potential conflict of interest with a particular committee member.
41:55
It's like, I don't know.
41:57
I just think it was stupid.
41:58
It's made me lose respect.
42:01
I've lost respect for Nanny.
42:02
I can tell you that right now.
42:03
I've lost respect for what the process was.
42:07
I don't disagree with the final decision in terms of who they hired.
42:11
That's great.
42:11
I think he's going to be a really good coach here.
42:14
But I just think that it was disappointing to me as somebody that went to the school.
42:18
I have two degrees from the school.
42:20
I feel like, yeah, I didn't play in the program, but to me, I've invested a lot of time, energy, money over the years into the program, and it bugs me when I see my alma mater do things that I think are kind of no-brainer things not to do.
42:36
In my opinion.
42:38
Yeah, well, I also think some of it, too, is when you hear somebody like a Jordan Leopold and a Johnny Pohl talking on Beyond the Pond saying, they have no idea who's on the committee.
42:49
These are pretty big names in the program.
42:51
The guys that brought national championships.
42:54
They might have been out of the loop, but at least they sound interested in it.
42:57
And the fact that they had no clue who was on the committee and why maybe players from a bunch of generations weren't involved.
43:08
I think that says a lot.
43:13
Are you there, guys?
43:17
Yep, I'm here.
43:19
I just think that those guys are a little checked out as well because they distanced themselves from Don Lucia and they weren't on the button of the program.
43:27
I think that's part of the issue, too.
43:30
Leopold was invited to the press conference thing on Wednesday, but he didn't go because he was going out to Buffalo to see Middlestad's debut.
43:37
He was kind of checked out as well.
43:40
He wasn't all that educated on some of the things he said on that broadcast as well.
43:46
Some of the things he said was like, have you been paying attention lately?
43:50
You know what I mean?
43:51
Like to some of the things going on.
43:53
But I think that's just it.
43:54
They haven't been paid attention because, I'm sorry, they're just not fans of the Don LaChia.
44:02
They've been kind of distancing themselves with it.
44:06
We hate to say it, but I think it's pretty true.
44:12
That the U hasn't reached out to these players and tried to keep them involved.
44:17
They've reached out, but they haven't reciprocated.
44:20
They don't care anymore to be involved.
44:23
I don't know about that.
44:26
I don't know.
44:27
I think it's obvious that a lot of these alumni don't like the Don, whether if they played for him or not.
44:33
I think that was an issue that was hopefully taken care of.
44:37
We'll have to wait and see.
44:42
When you have your alumni like Jordan Leopold and Tom Chorsky and Kevin Hartzell taking shots like they do at the program, that's not helping things either.
44:50
That's not a productive move for them to be so critical because that carries over into the people that they associate with.
44:58
The hockey community is going to tighten it around here.
45:00
When you have those kinds of people taking shots at the program all the time and not trying to make it better, that's not going to help either.
45:08
It's almost like those guys would be better off if they weren't associated with Minnesota.
45:12
Well, yeah, and it's kind of like, I don't know.
45:15
I think that it's fine to have an opinion, but I also think that these guys think they're a lot smarter than they are sometimes, and I don't know.
45:22
I mean, I feel like I get, you know, being frustrated and all that, but I also feel like, you know, get on board.
45:29
I'm not saying you have to 100% agree with everything the coach does, and I'm not saying that behind closed doors you can't talk to the athletic director and make your feelings known or whatever.
45:38
That's all well and good, but saying things publicly, that's not doing anybody any good.
45:44
To me, it's stupid.
45:45
I don't know.
45:48
I felt like there was a little bit too much self-serving, you know, stuff that went on with some of these guys, and it's just counterproductive.
45:55
Hopefully it ends now that the change has been made.
46:00
I hope so, too, because obviously their donations have kind of stopped coming.
46:06
They lost the weight room last second.
46:08
Who knows what happened there?
46:11
Hopefully this is a good turnaround time here, Veegs, because they need it.
46:16
Well, I did see Dan Brooks at the coach hiring press conference, so that's good to get that part of Minnesota Hockey back on board, because I know that it was a family that felt a little distance from the University of Minnesota, so to have them back on board should help.
46:32
But at the same time, these guys have to decide, what do they really want to get out of it?
46:37
Do they want to see Minnesota be a successful program?
46:40
Well, then they've got to circle the wagons and figure out how to do that.
46:44
I think that's going to be a strength of Otsukawa, is he's going to try to rebuild those friendships and those relationships in the program.
46:51
Like Hamley said, if there's a problem, there's a better way to help the program going quietly to the coach or to the athletic director than to take the pot shots like they do from their perches like choreski and climber and hardsled take.
47:10
I think the other thing we have to remember is that as much as crap as Lucia might have been taking at times, if you look at where Moscow's taking over, from where Lucia took over from Wugger, Lucia had a tougher go.
47:27
If you look at the last couple years of Wug's era, it was below 500.
47:31
It was pretty bleak.
47:33
That's not where this program right now is being handed off.
47:37
He's got a lot better situation.
47:39
I think he's got a real good recruiting pipeline already in place.
47:43
He will probably make a few adjustments to some of these things.
47:48
But the point being is that I think that it's not quite to the...
47:54
There's a lot more to bitch about 20 years ago than there is right now.
47:59
So I think that people need to kind of keep that in their consideration as well.
48:03
Yeah, but I think that's only true to a point because 25 years ago, whatever, 20 years ago when Wugger's team started playing down, there still wasn't that many great teams out there.
48:17
It was quicker to recover, to reload.
48:21
These days, there's a lot more hockey players out there.
48:22
There's damn good players.
48:24
There's a lot more teams.
48:25
There's a lot more parity.
48:26
So turning it around or so-called turning it around, I think it's much more difficult now than it was for Lucia.
48:33
Well, I'll be honest with you.
48:34
I think while I agree there's more competition, I also kind of feel like the whole parity thing is just sort of a weak excuse.
48:43
To me, that's about lowering expectations for me.
48:46
I don't want the high expectations or I don't want to be held to those expectations.
48:51
So let me manage them by giving, by tweaking my message about parity.
48:57
And it's like, I realize that you're not going to roll through the competition like it's the 1970s anymore.
49:04
I totally don't disagree with that.
49:05
But I also feel like would you have the recruiting backyard that we have here, when you have, you know, our facilities are heading in the right direction now.
49:16
They were struggling for a little bit, like we talked about earlier, but they're going to be heading in the right direction.
49:22
To me, you don't have that many excuses.
49:25
You just don't.
49:28
I'm not saying you have to be winning NCAA titles every year.
49:31
I'm not saying that you have to be conference champion every year.
49:33
But the point being is that you should be in that conversation pretty much every year as a team that can legitimately win it.
49:43
To me, there's no excuse at the U to not have that be the expectation.
49:47
Doesn't mean you win it every year, but you should be in that conversation.
49:51
And the whole parity thing to me is just kind of a weak way of saying, well, I don't want to have that expectation on me.
49:58
Well, I clearly think the expectation should be to make the tournament every year like North Dakota did for, I think, 15 years in a row.
50:07
It just broke this year, and it could be for a national title.
50:10
I don't think that's unrealistic, even in this age of parity.
50:13
I think some people would think that they should be in the championship game or winning titles every two, three years is a little out of line, but they should be making the tournament.
50:22
And they should have made it this year, and they would have in almost any other year, except for the four auto bids that went outside the top 16.
50:33
Nathan Wells would like to know you missed part of the show.
50:36
Have you reached the point of the show where Camerata gets brought up again?
50:41
I already, first once, I hit my quota, so I don't know that I'm allowed.
50:49
Plus, I don't want to get any whining from the sports information director.
50:55
Apparently, I already create the whining by my comments on Twitter, so I don't want to create more whining.
51:03
Sorry.
51:07
You weren't a fan of those comments from former players, Hammy?
51:12
What's that?
51:13
The quotes?
51:16
It just felt like a dude who was trying to convince a girl to like him too much.
51:20
It's like, dude, just be yourself and you're going to be all right.
51:23
But it kind of felt like trying too hard to convince the girl that you're worth the effort.
51:29
I don't know.
51:31
Whatever.
51:32
I guess I'm a marketing guy, so I guess I sort of understand it, but it kind of felt like a little bit too much.
51:38
I'm just having fun with you, Hammy.
51:41
I figured you'd be high on drugs after that root canal today.
51:46
No, that was just a little novocaine action.
51:49
I hate that feeling.
51:51
It's like you can't even eat because you feel like you're going to bite half your tongue off if you don't know it's there.
51:58
I think this is going to be the last podcast unless something big happens over the summer, so any thoughts before we take our long break, Veegs?
52:10
No pressure.
52:10
Just that this team has a lot of potential for next year.
52:14
We saw what Grant Pottolini did at Northern Michigan taking over a team and giving them a different message.
52:20
He had a very successful year.
52:22
I don't think it's unreasonable.
52:23
I think Monsko can't do the same thing with this roster, regardless of what kind of freshman he brings in.
52:28
I think they need to try to find a way to get older.
52:32
It would be nice for them to find a couple of Nick Sealer type guys to add to the roster to kind of fill out the depth on defense and give them some more steady physical guys.
52:42
It's something that they're really lacking.
52:43
It will be interesting to see who the leadership is for this program next year.
52:49
You look at guys like Jack Ramsey and Darian Romaco.
52:52
Those are the kinds of gritty players that this team needs a voice from.
52:57
I think they were turning to Middlestadt Lindgren a lot last year and maybe were missing the right messaging.
53:02
It will be interesting to see what happens to this team over the offseason as they find their voice.
53:09
Thoughts, Hamme?
53:11
Well, I mean...
53:15
Man, we just lost them.
53:18
That's a good thought.
53:22
Hamme, did you hit the mute button there, Hamme?
53:25
Say again?
53:27
Right as you started talking, you stopped.
53:28
We didn't hear a thing.
53:29
Oh, sorry.
53:30
Can you hear me now?
53:31
We can hear you now, but it was a good thought when we heard nothing from you.
53:37
Well, I'm sure there's some haters out there that would agree with that.
53:40
Oh, wow.
53:43
So anyway, what I was saying is that it's going to be exciting, I think, to have that new voice and to see what kind of energy that does bring to the program.
53:52
It's something that I've wanted to see for a couple of years was kind of at least some sort of a succession plan, and now we're there.
53:59
I'll be interested to see who the assistants turn out to be.
54:02
I think that'll be very interesting to see what they can bring for energy.
54:07
I think obviously the key next year, I think, is going to be defensively what happens.
54:12
Do we see some improvements, some certain players?
54:14
Do we see maybe a guy have that Mike Vannelli sudden jump on improvement from one year to the next?
54:23
You kind of have to hope that something like that happens.
54:27
It'll be interesting to see what kind of changes will happen with the new head recruiter, somebody with a different philosophy, what changes they might make, different players that they might go after that maybe in the past the prior regime might not have gone after, or maybe this current regime will say, hey, I don't want that kind of player.
54:49
So I think that'll be interesting.
54:52
So this is a lot of, I think, things to look forward to.
54:55
I think that there's been a lot of complaints about Big Ten and all this other stuff.
55:01
We saw the Big Ten was a lot better this year.
55:03
I think we'll continue to see that improvement.
55:05
It might not have the built-in in-state rivalries that people want, but I think it's going to be a really good conference moving forward.
55:14
So I think there's a lot to be excited about, and I'm kind of excited to see what happens this offseason.
55:20
Usually at this time of year, I'm like, I'm glad the summer's here.
55:24
I need a break.
55:25
I kind of do want that break a little bit, but I'm also kind of looking forward to seeing what kind of happens in the coming months, because I think next year, it might not be a championship year by any means, but I think it'll be a good year.
55:36
I think it'll be an entertaining year, so I'm looking forward to it.
55:39
Well, one thing we do know, the Big Ten is improved, but unfortunately, the NCHC won their third straight title weeks.
55:46
Yeah, and Minnesota will kick things off next year with the defending champ.
55:51
They'll start off in Duluth the first weekend.
55:53
Yeah, that's 170 days away, folks.
55:56
170 days away from the season kicking off in Duluth, so that'll be fun.
56:03
You have the ticker going, right?
56:06
I do have the ticker.
56:07
It's like 170 and 20-some-odd hours or something like that right now.
56:11
Gotcha.
56:13
The ticker is going.
56:14
Veegs, you might not be able to make it up there with homecoming, right?
56:19
It's going to be a tough choice.
56:20
I like to row the boat, so it's Iowa and homecoming.
56:24
I'm hoping for an 11 o'clock kickoff and then maybe make the trip up there.
56:28
We'll see what happens.
56:29
Yeah, if it's an 11 o'clock kickoff, you might be able to pull it off as long as you're not drinking so heavily.
56:35
Maybe we'll get a shuttle operated.
56:39
Well, I want to thank all you people who listened to us live, who listened to us recorded on the download.
56:44
This is our seventh season we're wrapping up tonight.
56:48
We'll be back next October.
56:52
Better than ever, we hope.
56:54
With a new coach, we'll have new complaints and new people bitching.
56:58
We'll be here to listen to those complaints and we'll talk about it.
57:03
New whipping boys.
57:05
New whipping boys, new players to rip on.
57:08
New recruits to rip on.
57:11
Some people on GPL hating on 16 year olds that aren't performing to the level they expect.
57:18
Well, remember you can always follow Hammy on Twitter at Hammy Hockey and E Vego for following Veegs.
57:25
Veegs, you working on anything for the athletic currently?
57:29
Not at the moment.
57:30
I'm in my off season of just enjoying hockey as a fan.
57:33
It's always fun to see all the college hockey alums playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
57:38
Veegs should be working on my free membership to the athletic.
57:41
Oh, jeez.
57:42
Should be working on.
57:43
Cheap ass handy.
57:44
What, there's not a friends and family discount?
57:48
You know, we tweet offers all the time.
57:50
I'm sure I can find a 40% off offer for you.
57:56
But that's what you give everybody, man.
57:58
Come on.
57:59
Yeah, it's a great value.
58:00
You know, I think we kicked out 140 articles for the college hockey season.
58:06
So it's good value there.
58:08
All right, guys, another great season.
58:11
Thanks.
58:13
We'll be back in October.
