Christian Darrisaw back at practice but out for this weekend. I'm glad to see the Vikings are being cautious with him now even though he probably shouldn't have suited up against the Cowboys. He's too young and too good to rush him back from a concussion.
Very good first half for Cousins
Very good first half for Cousins
I think he’s missed his next 3 throws since I posted this, then got sacked
Queens are going to blow this game away
Aloha!
There has to be at least one quarter of each game where they completely suck.
Poised for an epic choke against another backup qb. D has been walked all game. They forced FGs but they are getting savaged by a backup.
Probably Kirk's worst game this season
Really got to secure that bye before we get donuted in the playoffs.
First down ends it, run three times for nothing. Took a whole 13 seconds off the clock. Brilliant.
Of course, Bynum intercepts with seconds left on the goal line. Obviously this is the greatest team and defense ever don’t let anyone tell you different.
10-2.
Is there a luckier team in the history of the league?
Vikings win another game they probably deserved to lose…crazy
The Vikings are now 10-2 and AFC East Champions going 4-0 against Miami, Buffalo, New York Jets, and New England.

I’m not sure they had a choice. Backed up at your own 1 almost any pass play could have had a myriad of disastrous outcomes.
Yards don't win games points do.
The Jets scored one touchdown and the Vikings scored three touchdowns. The Jets kicker kept them in the game going 5 for 5 on FGs including a 60 yarder.
The Vikings on offense in the red zone were 3 for 3 getting TDs and on defense stopped the Jets from getting TDs 5 of 6 times in the red zone.
Game are often won on red zone execution and the Vikings dominated that key part of the game.

True. Don’t want to pull a Josh Allen there.
A sack or holding call and it’s a 3 point game they’re getting the ball with good field position, a timeout left and about 1:30 left. The only pass play you could realistically run would be a quick dump to Cook in the flat, which I actually may have tried on second down.

Especially considering the Vikings have one of the worst red zone defenses in the league…or did.
Not often you give up 370 yards passing and win.
Never a doubt!
(This has gotta be the worst 10-2 team ever)
Dear MN,
Thank you.
Sincerely, Bills Mafia

Is there a luckier team in the history of the league?
There is teams like this every year...only in Minnesota do we view it as a bad thing. Hell Green Bay has been pulling this for years...
And I guess I don't agree with your take on the D either. Stats only matter in Fantasy Football.
Well wait, one stat matters 10-2!

They are doing two important things, winning (Duh!) and learning how to win close games. Both are valuable and games certainly are not dull!

The Vikings have been through the wringer thus far, and only have 2 losses. That's pretty darn good. That will help in the long run. The Jets showed what the Jets are: blah offense, great defense, and MN has that early 90s "bend but don't break" D vibe. MN pretty much hasn't been broken at key times in games, today's goal-line stand as a prime example.

Yes, the 2010 Packers and it ain't even close.
Only got in the playoffs because the Giants crapped themselves the last 2 weeks of the season and faced a 3rd string QB in the NFC title game.

Football is a matchup based game and stats lay out how those matchups will go. If your strength is their weakness that’s how you build your game plan.
On the White 4th and goal sneak that was reviewed and changed to a TD. Did the broadcast ever show anything close to an angle that showed anything? I was out for lunch and not paying much attention, but I only ever saw some terrible overhead shot.

No. They sure tried to make it sound like that was the definitive look, though.
FTR, I think he broke the plane. But in my opinion we never saw an angle that proved it.
I thought the NFL had some rule requiring stadiums to have cameras on the goal lines specifically for plays like that?
It was such a hog pile I don't think the camera's on the sides could successfully capture the ball - goal-line relationship on the review.

There's no way that it could've been worse than the angle they were actually showing though. At least with the sideline angle you would have some sort of idea where the goal line is.
The overhead didn't show the ball, but it did show his entire body crossed the line. In the end, it was a good call, despite the lack of 100% view of the ball.

Are you talking about the shot that they kept showing from behind the offensive side? Because that didn't show anything even close to what you're saying
Yes, from the offensive side. His whole body crossed the line, and if his whole body (while possessing the ball) crossed, that ball crossed the line.
Mind you, I say this objectively. If I were saying this in a biased way, I'd say "BLAH BLAH NO TD" b/c I wanted the Vikes to win today.

This is the video we are discussing, correct?

Yes. He was very much in. The other angles, I didn't know. Tough call. That one, it's rather obvious.

I don't know what to tell you if you think that video shows anything. From the angle you're looking at, the players feet are the only evidence of anything. White's feet barely get within a yard of the goal line at any point. #39 for the Vikings is really the only guy that you can use as any reference from that angle.
The feet don't matter, as we saw on that Vikes' first down late in the game (that was challenged). It's where the ball is. That was a Jets' TD, so I don't know what to tell YOU. 😉

Was it called a TD on the field or after review? If after review then it was the wrong call because "objectivity" has nothing to do with it - video evidence has to be crystal clear to overturn the call on the field and the overhead view doesn't show the ball crossing the plane.

Precisely. They called no TD. Then after review, said it was good. Unless they were looking at something we never saw, it wasn’t the right call.
Again, I think he was in. But, there’s no proof with the angles we’ve seen.
I believe it was called no TD on the field, but given where his body was, it was conclusive. EVERYONE where I was at agreed, it was a TD. They didn't like the call, but they said it was the correct call.

That's not how replay works and you always seem to be in a crowd of people that supports your opinion. ?
All kidding aside he was possibly in per your description, but if video evidence doesn't show the ball crossing the plane then the call on the field should have stood. For all we know the ball was out of his hands and never crossed, but he got it back after the whistle.

Right and yet every week teams that have no business having success do and teamss that should dominate lay an egg. Games aren't played on computers and stat sheets they are played on the field. (Or in my tv!)
We can pretend the Vikes are just lucky, but history proves good teams make they own luck.
It's like we used to say about hockey polls...the only poll that matters is the one though use to hang your banner. The only start that matters in football is wins and losses.
I mean the rules expert guy said they should reverse it i believe so I mean it really isn't that controversial...
Not a great angle, but clearly a TD.
Those claiming not enough video evidence to overturn need to remove their purple blinders. If the roles had been reversed and the officials didn't call it a TD on review, those same fans would be threatening to burn down the stadium.

So, watching that clip, you can see who has the ball, and he's all the way into the end zone before being pushed back out, so is this really in question that it's a TD?
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
