As I recall the original course at Madden's used to have a par 6 hole. But again as I recall it's pretty flat, so hitting a 500 yard drive to set up the second shot would be WELL out of my range!

One of the courses at Madden’s does have a par 6, I don’t remember which one. I thought it was pretty hokey.

Maddens does have a par 6. It’s on one of the cheaper courses. We played it last summer. It’s like a 650 yard straight hole. Nothing fancy at all. Everyone in my group birdied it after missing eagle putts.

But not a HIO. I just read the article - a condor is a -4 score and in this case he took 2 shots on a Par 6 which I didn't realize there was such a thing. But thanks for the "clarification ". Mr. Green

He took an embedded ball drop in the rough.

I don't know, from what I understand the course is extremely wet, so much so that they couldn't even mow before the third round. They have been playing lift-clean-place all week... The rule on an embedded ball drop was recently changed to include anywhere (except sand) not just greens and fairways. Why did he move the ball before the rules official came over? If he would've left it, it is almost for sure a non-story. But the dummy moved it and created this doubt, especially with his prior history. So was it embedded, or not? We will never know cause Reed is being Reed.

He cheated. I have been digging into this since yesterday. I haven't followed golf the last several years like I used to. I didn't really know of Reed's reputation. I spent hours on Twitter and YouTube as well as talked to a buddy of mine who is a higher up at Golftec. What I have concluded is that Reed is a multiple time cheater on the PGA tour. That's bad. Couple that with the fact he was kicked out of his 1st college for drinking, cheating, and stealing accusations. At the second college he attended, his teammates considered taking a vote to kick him off the team. He didn't invite his parents to his 2012 wedding and hasn't spoken to them since. He even had them removed from the U.S. Open gallery in '14 even though they had no contact. He appears to be the least liked player on tour. Several big names have publicly called him out for cheating. In an interview I saw, he said, "golf is a game of integrity." Well, it seems he has little.

Surprised he's not been given stiffer penalties than he he's received so far.

I completely agree. It's as if the PGA is more concerned with brushing it away to save their reputation as the players rule themselves in an honorable fashion. I, instead, believe the reputation is being tarnished.

Rory did the exact same thing on 18 during the third round except he did not call an official over. Ball bounced just like Reeds.

A volunteer admitted, this week, to stepping in Rory's ball while looking for it. The ball was definitely embedded if that was the case.

After getting 10 birdies yesterday and dropping nearly every putt, Jordan Spieth is playing pretty poorly today. He is 2 over on the round and currently in the water on 17. Brooks Koepka eagled 17 with a 90 foot chip shot to take the lead by 2. He is the leader in the clubhouse.

I saw him being interviewed on Sunday at the Genesis/L.A. Open and didn't think he looked well. Probably no connection to the accident but I can't help but wonder what really led to his terrible accident.

I guess this shows that the interest in Tiger is still high. ESPN has gone full coverage. Most of the major news channels are also covering it live. Thankfully it sounds like is severe leg injury and it is non life threatening.

I can guarantee you that on February 23, 2022, ESPN will lead with "It was 1 year ago today that Tiger Woods was injured in an automobile accident".

Obviously glad to hear the injuries are "non life threatening". Sounds like both legs broken with compound fractures involved.

I just finished reading a glowing review of the GV80 in this month's Car & Driver. Super luxurious at a very attractive price with very capable, although not stellar handling. It was reported that Tiger was running a little late so it appears he was driving too aggressively and exceeded the limits of the vehicle.

Jesus.....Bryson just easily carried 342 to clear the water (and fairway) on the 6th at Bay Hill. The hole is is a ~590 par 5 if you go the long way. Shock

EDIT - Measured at 370.

That tee shot he hit on 18 was AGGRESSIVE. I've watched it like 15 times and still am surprised it didn't get wet.

Hell of a weekend for him. Down 7 strokes on Saturday morning and was damn near flawless on Sunday (hit 17/18 greens and missed the green on 18 by a foot).

It's a shame the leaders came down the stretch during the Gopher game, that would have been fun to watch.

Even more of a shame I didn't set up a 2nd TV or computer to watch it simultaneously. :dope:

Thomas was aggressive off the tee on 18 and it paid off. Westwood, the sentimental favorite at age 48, was 1 shot down on the 17th tee while JT was playing 18. Westwood didn’t go for the 17th pin, hit it to the middle of the green, then unfortunately 3 putted. Westwood then birdied 18, but down 2 strokes, it was for sole possession of 2nd place, after BD’s birdie putt on 18 ringed the hole & out. Great comeback win by JT ?

Just an FYI -- big golf week ahead and if you are looking for some tournament golf, then I've got a spot for you. First event is this Saturday, there is a trial event on 4/24 for non-members and the season goes from there.

Justin Rose was +2 through like 6.

He then tore Augusta apart and finished -7, 4 shots ahead of the next closest.

I sincerely hope he shoots a 92 tomorrow.

I figured he had to -3 today to be very comfortable to win, shoot par for a possible close finish. The other contenders kept making a run, but then they'd take a step back. Could still be close, but yes, it's Matsuyama's to lose, by far.
