I’m sorry, but sometimes goalies are given to much credit. Sometimes it’s more of a luck save or the goalie is beat and the shooter shoots the puck more into the goalie pads than than a save.

Oilers can’t score 5x5, won’t stop taking penalties, and can’t kill a penalty. There may only be 5 more periods of hockey this season.

 You were saying?

This did not age well.

Through 4 games…

Edmonton: 11 goals / 3 pp goals

Florida: 10 goals / 7 pp goals / 1 sh goals

@snowcool08 is correct Edmonton takes dumb penalties and their pk is pathetic. Though they have no problems scoring 5x5.

# Karma for that fraudulent 3rd goal not getting overturned & a penalty accessed to Verhaeghe! Best 2 of 3 starting Saturday!

Well in fairness to you that was their fourth period of hibernation in a row. I doubt anyone expected Edmonton to win the remainder of the game 5-1.

In the locker room after the first, Florida must have felt like the game was over. The old "keep doing what you're doing" plan isn't going to cut it in the Stanley Cup.

Across the hall, the Oilers were angry and desperate. They knew going down 1-3 was probably going to finish them. They played like they had everything to lose.

Florida got a lucky bounce right to Reinhart's stick to tie it late, and it was a lucky deflection in OT that decided it.

Have the game on outside doing things at the same time and missed the Flo goal. Really think the pressure builds a little now on edm cuz going back to Florida down 3-2 isn’t favorable.

Edmonton likes to dig themselves into holes early.  I concur, if they don’t win tonight I think Florida will slam the door on Tuesday.

What a play by Marchand! Unbelievable for a guy his age 37 years old, perfect rush off a center ice face-off, then bar down shot!

Panthers have literally gotten every break this series, blocked shot goes right on to Bennett stick, you can’t make this shit up! Panthers 2 Oilers 0 after one period.

It helped that the Edmonton defenseman had his head up his breezers. Nobody should get beat like that from a center ice faceoff.

It feels like Edmonton is barely hanging on every game. Tonight, they had a couple early chances they couldn't bury and have been chasing ever since. Florida's team defense is so good....

He's an emotional player, too, which is think rallies the team. Edmonton has had their PP chances and cant get a bounce.

Both teams look tired, sluggish and sloppy. Florida just got the early advantage and could sit back and play safe more.

with the flight after a late game, certainly wouldve been fine with an extra day off. You don’t use them early, but for the final I’d be good with it later in the series.

Again, as good as he's been playing, Edmonton played that comically, capped off by a very poor goal tending effort.

Edmonton is terrible defensively tonight at home.

I don't know what fans pay for tickets, but they didn't get their money's worth.

Florida's depth is going to get them another Cup. Now, how one team can afford that roster, I'm sure I have no idea.

Games gave been close enough it really hasn’t seemed to matter

that said, way more routes to win for Florida. Edmonton with their shorter bench really was hurt by the shorter layoff with the travel. They’ll be helped a ton by the extra day off and the desperation. Their goalie (I expect they’ll go back to skinner again as pickard was bad imo and the team energy was terrible) is going to decide if this goes 7

I think Oilers will go back to Stuart Skinner for G6 out of desperation, but even if Oilers find a way to win it, the pressure of 🇨🇦 team not winning the SC since 1993, 32 years is obviously suffocating the Oilers when they play at home…so Panthers wud still win G7

Paul Maurice (literally) must feel like he died and went to heaven coaching these guys after all those years in Peg!

This matchup is very much like a Gophers v Cows series, between team defense and goaltending (which... Bob hasn't had to do anything amazing for the most part) Florida has clearly been the more consistent team throughout. Bob making that nice save to start the game was huge, I kinda doubt Skinner makes that save.

Someone behind the Panthers bench is looking for a little attention…who wears a hockey jersey tied around their waist?  I have never seen that before….  And I guarantee you that front row in a building full of ice is not tank top weather.  😂

Skinner is toast.
95% chance he’s on the bench for the third.

Edmonton's defense has been so bad this series.  Bouchard has been terrible and his partner is no better. It's hard to believe they made it this far.

The Oilers have such poor scoring depth and are missing Zach Hyman badly.

Florida the epitome of yoh make your own luck.

harder working, better defense, deeper, better goalie and they made the most of their opportunities when they had them. Deserving back to back. Feel for mcdavid and draisaitl to come so close back to back.

From all told, depth. We see that in just about any sport. You can have the best player on the planet, but depth gets you titles. I'd rather have a bunch of "very goods" vs "1 great and a bunch of mediocres."

He was a factor for Florida tonight.

Edmonton is basically McDavid and Draisaitl. Take those two off the score sheet, and they're pretty average. It didn't help Edmonton that their goaltenders just aren't that good.
