I can't imagine how much game 5 tickets in Toronna will be going for in the secondary market.

Toronto scratches Knies for Game 1 and loses 7-3. He has now played three straight games and the Leafs have won all three by a combined score of 16 to 9. The series would have been a 4 game sweep if they wouldn't have scratched Knies. ?

Justin Holl had an assist tonight and played the most PK minutes for the Leafs.

Holl is an unheralded player that matters a ton to that team.

Love seeing Knies have success in the show. Playing with Tavares and Marner sure doesn’t hurt.

Knies is now playing with weaker line mates then he did at the U. ?

Bigger (hypothetical) fanbase implosion, Wild or Leafs if:  Flower in goal over Gus tomorrow night or Bunting back into the Leafs lineup and Knies sitting on Thursday?

If both coaches crap the bed the smart money has to be on the Leafs. Wild fans are amateur ledge sitters compared to that bunch. ?

At this point, I just assume we see Vegas vs. Seattle in the Western Conference Finals.  And Chicago wins the Bedard sweepstakes.

If anything, it would free up more of my time, haha.

I told myself I would go to bed early tonight after a short night last night.  Then I said I’d go to bed at 11:30.  Then I said I’d go to bed after the first OT if it wasn’t done in Seattle.  What did I do?

Damn playoff hockey.  ?

That was a great comeback by Toronto and Knies was a huge part of it by saving that sure goal. Game could’ve easily gotten away from them even further than it did and made a comeback impossible.

@karlsson where the ef were McCann's teammates? Nobody goes after Makar. I don't ever watch them play, is Seattle that soft?

Seems like they are finally calling penalties in OT. For years the refs would just swallow the whistles unless a real scoring chance was taken away. Looks like they are calling it straight up, which IMO is how it should be.

My only guess is that they were stunned. I know I was.

I suppose another option is they know that kind of game doesn’t help them and they are VERY disciplined. Find that hard to believe with who is behind the bench, though.

General surprise anyway, regarding the lack of reaction from his teammates, but especially with F*ckstool as the coach.

I doubt Makar gets anything at all if the Seattle player doesn't get injured.

It seems like the NHL puts more emphasis on the penalty depending on the evidence of injury, not on the infraction itself and what might have happened.

Which is, of course, the problem.  If they punished hits like that as if someone had a career ending injury every time they occur, whether anyone is actually injured or not, the hits would mostly go away, because people would be suspended so often, they'd change their behaviors (some will still happen, of course, they'd just be rare).

You think Makar should get 5 games for that, especially with no history? And really 1 game in the playoffs is like 5 in the regular season.

I think 5 games should be the minimum suspension in the NHL. Seattle just lost their best player for likely the rest of the season and people are legitimately arguing if a 1 game suspension is too much. That's a serious problem.

Carrier in, Kessel out. Streak ends at 1,149 consecutive games played. Iron man streak of 1,064 is still going, as it only counts regular season.

Man, do they hate Justin Holl. Wowzers. It is not just because of this series. They have been on him for years. Good luck Matthew Knies if you don't turn out to be the next Auston Matthews. The fan base in Toronto is crazy.

If this happens be prepared to put on safety equipment if you're near Toronto!

I wasn’t referencing the misplayed puck specifically, I just think he’s their weakness. Even tho with their offense they’re good enough to win the cup, they’ll still have games where the goalie needs to carry them and I don’t think he can.
