That was a weird fight, especially for a conference final. Seemingly over nothing and accomplished nothing.
Why does Reaves not have to wear a face shield? Are they not required?
He was in the league prior to 2012.

Out of curiosity how many of these guys still don’t wear visors? I’m too lazy to google search. ?
That’s the list of players who don’t wear visors.

I don't believe any of them have added a visor
The Rangers are screwed. Once Tampa figures out how to beat you they step on your neck.
So, the visor discussion got me thinking about both goalie masks and skater helmets. The last maskless goalie was a guy named Andy Brown. The date of his last NHL game (and thus the last ever) was April 7, 1974, but the guy played three more years in the old WHA (all without a mask).
This article gives the last ten guys to not wear a helmet.

Thanks for posting! Your helmet needs a haircut. ?
Way back when they didn’t really lift the puck like they do now. And just like baseball bats I can only imagine how much more dangerous todays stick technology is in making that puck fly! Although unlike the MLB, I have not heard any rumors of tweaking the puck to make it fly differently….yet….;)
Good Lord I can't believe they actually allowed anyone to go without a helmet as late as 1997.
Imo… Tonight’s winner will eventually win the series and play Colorado for the Cup. I want NYR to win, but I think TB is the only one who can actually challenge the Avs.

Our guy 1-0 Rangers
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
1-1 after 2 periods. Lindgren scores for Rangers, Sergachev for Bolts.
??????

Prophetic.

Let’s go Rangers! I really want them to make it back to the garden for game 7…and find a way to beat Tampa.
Great power play goal by the Rangers to tie. Then immediately a lucky bounce off stamkos’ leg after a great stop by Igor. ?
Who to cheer for?!?!?! Colorado… grrr… or Tampa (Cory Perry)… grrr…
Keep your stick on the ice...
ends 2-1.
Tampa vs Colorado. Cant cheer for the avs, not sure I want to cheer for Tampa either.
go….hockey?
Tampa it is… they didn’t act like children and skated the Prince of Wales Trophy compared to Colorado with the Clarence Campbell.

One hell of a series! Rangers have nothing to hang their heads about, they competed hard & they are a really good young team! In the end, theLightning are a mentally relentless, talented, gritty, experienced. And they are the CHAMPS until somebody beats them 4 times…
Avs fans are annoying… very UND like when regionals are at Fargo. Everyone tries be a comedian to be on tv.

The Bolts are never out of it as long as Kuemper is in goal for the Avs

Kuemps could prove me wrong but I would bet on the other goaltender skating away with the win....

Pat Maroon lives up to his name…
The way the game unfolded, if Avs would have lost. it would have been a huge setback. They got two bounces and to their credit capitalized. I think this series goes six or seven, not sure who wins, Avs play with tremendous pace & are a damn good team !

COL forecheck took over at the end of the game. Would have been tough if they controlled the play at the end of a home game and gave up a goal on one of Tampa chances to lose.
The Blues beat the Avs twice, the only two Colorado losses this playoffs. I’m not sure this Tampa team gets this to Game Six. Colorado is a juggernaut. ?

If the Avs win game 2, you might be right. But…Vas let in 2 uncharacteristic goals last night & Tampa still got the game to OT. Winning goal was set up on a turnover after not just one but two bizarre, bad bounces. Avs also got a gift 5-3 PP, which resulted in their 3rd goal. Avs forecheck, the speed of it did give Tampa problems, they’ll need to adjust. Makar was the best player in the ice, his lateral movement & ability to explosively jump into the play offensively is a sight to see. But again, the trick isn’t beating Tampa once or twice, (or 3 times like Islanders last year & Leafs this year) it’s beating them 4 times, which nobody has done the past 15 series they’ve played ☝️

Vas got it going, but being down 0-2 early was a tough way to start. Tampa has a way of settling down and coming back. Last night, it felt like it took everything Colorado had to get the win, and they had the crowd.
Game 2 will be big for Tampa. They don't want to start in a 2-game hole.
I still think CO's weakness is in the goal. Tampa needs to get pucks to the net, although that's hard to do when you're defending against a speedy team.
Flyers sign Torts to a 4 year deal to be their next head coach. ( I like Torts, but his style of coaching doesn't fit in new NHL )
Habs trade Shea Weber ( contract ) to Vegas for Evgenii Dadonov.

Philly is on quite a run of picking coaches you know aren’t gonna work out…who’s making these decisions over there?
McDonagh takes a dumb penalty, COL scores on the PP. Tampa may have finally run into a team they can’t control.
Tampa looks like they played last night
Maybe going home will fire them up like it did vs. the blueshirts. I was hoping for seven games. This is boring so far.
Perry is a world class dick
Alan Roach has a set of pipes. The CO in arena announcer is also the Vikings announcer.
Did Colorado wear throw back Nordiques jerseys at some time. I know the Avs came from Quebec, but A LOT of fans are wearing the Nordiques jersey.

This is a beatdown
This looks like a sweep. Tampa just doesn’t have the legs to keep up and their commitment to playing their game is admirable, but mistaken. I hope they come out and whip some ass in Game 3 just to make this a series, but this doesn’t seem likely. Huge accomplishment to make three consecutive finals, however this series plays out.

I think Tampa wins a game at home (hopefully game 3) to create a little suspense, but to say it looks grim for the champs is an understatement. Avs have badly outplayed them in the mile high city. And when guys who aren’t the main stars are having career playoff games for the Avs, it’s a bad sign. I’ll be surprised if they get swept, but right now have to admit a 4 game series looks more likely than 6 or 7.
Don't panic until you lose at home.

If Tampa comes back to Colorado 2-2 anything can happen, but I would agree that Colorado right now is just super sharp in every aspect of their game. It's too bad Tampa can't get more shots on net. I still think Colorado is vulnerable in goal, but it won't hurt them if Tampa is always defending.
