I bet Aaron wishes he'd gone elsewhere
$50M reasons why he doesn’t..
You mean $153 reasons? He’s got a lot of guaranteed reasons.
Even Davante Adams is tired of Erin.

Boy would that be something. Leave GB in one hell of a hole. I really doubt that would happen, but still.

I gotta assume there’s some clause even in guaranteed contracts that if a guy just quits they don’t get the money.
Doesn't Watson still have some legal issues? If so, why would any time want to dump lots $$$ on him.
Keep your stick on the ice...
No, the grand jury decided not to indict. I guess he could still deal with a civil case potentially but that’s not nearly as concerning from a team perspective.
These are the potential picks Houston will get..Also the only other time a team has traded 3 #1 picks... Vikings in the Walker trade.

Wow... I was on a grand jury for 13 months. And out of the 100 plus cases we got, only one wasn't 100% to send to trial. The one had one person on the grand jury that voted no. Grand juries are pretty lop sided and you only her the State or Fed side of it.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Yeah I can think of some notable exceptions to that but your understanding is similar to mine, typically those move forward more often than not especially federal cases.
This trade just shows that NFL stands for No Fricking Logic

Probable civil suits but no criminal. The league can still impose punishment even if there’s no criminal conviction and I’ve seen an expectation of a 4-8 game suspension.

I doubt if they will even suspend him at all. Which is really sad, but completely unsurprising.

Heard on 93X this morning: Davante and ARodg said they were like brothers. If you know anything about the Rodgers' family, no wonder Davante left. :rim:

Actually they’re so sure he’s gonna get suspended that they structured his 2022 pay with all but 1 million of it as signing bonuses so that it will cost him almost nothing in pay if he gets suspended.

Adams agent is claiming the Packers offered him more than what he ended up signing for with the Raiders cause he wanted to play with Carr. Maybe they’re not so much “brothers” after all.
That's what I heard too, it was the Carr thing. Allegedly, ARodg knew this...but if it was that important to him to play with Davante...why did he sign? Hmmm.

Until DeShaun killed that guaranteed portion with his new contract.

I think Watsons deal averages 46 and Arodg is 50. I believe Mahones has the highest overall total contract which gets to the point of numbers for numbers sake, he might not actually get all of it.
Along with the really bad PR look, what if Watson is not done pulling this crap? ?

Guaranteed money is the key here. Not overall contract. I swear I read DeShaun just blew every contract away with the guaranteed part.

Yes. Watson has all 243 or whatever guaranteed, Mahones only has like 140 mil guaranteed. Rodgers has most per season.

O.J. had and paid the money he owed his ex-wife, he still killed her, according to the civil trial jurors. The sick mind does not work like the healthy mind. Just look at Antiono Brown.
Not excusing Watson's alleged behavior, but he hasn't been convicted of anything yet. NFL could still suspend him, sure, but...

Today Atlanta signed Marcus Mariota to a 2 year deal (haven't seen the $ amount yet) and New Orleans resigned Jameis Winston to a 2 year - $28 million (21 million guaranteed) deal.
The dominos that are the most likely to still fall are Carolina and Seattle. Does Baker Mayfield and Jimmy G end up there?
Would San Francisco trade Jimmy G to a divisional opponent (Seattle)? If not who is going to trade for him. Cleveland and San Francisco are running out of teams to trade Baker and Jimmy to.
EDIT: the Marcus Mariota 2 year deal is for 18.75 million.

Duke Johnson to the Bills, are the reports.
I am going into shock with these (relatively) big signings. Bills are trying to plug EVERY hole this year.

You're the children's clown
Chiefs apparently shopping Tyreek Hill. Jets and Dolphins are the teams being tied to him.
Sometimes I shake my head on the decisions players make. From what I read, the Chiefs offered him a very good contract that would have made him one of the highest paid receivers, but he chose to leave maybe the best QB and offense in the NFL and goes to Miami and Tua. I guess it is all about the money.

He also broke his own child’s arm as well as some other run ins with the law. He’s not one known for making good decisions.

Yep. So maybe the Chiefs are relieved to get rid of him.

These guys have short careers and probably should just take as much guaranteed money as they can get, I don’t think it’s a bad decision by any means.

At $5M per year, they will make more money in 2 seasons than normal people make in their entire working career. I don't think he has to squeeze blood out of a turnip.

You mean he's not going to be on skid row if he made $25 million a year versus the $30 million a year he's getting from the Dolphins?
Unless the guy is a complete moron with money, he was easily set for life either way.

But the point is still the same...
If a guy is dumb enough to go broke making 25 million a year, he's probably still going to go broke making 30 million.

Yeah but we’re talking about Tyreek Hill, that’s kinda the point here
And honestly 5 million a year is nothing to scoff at especially if you get to live in Miami over Kansas City.

Not to mention I am sure he can save quite a bit of cash in not paying state income tax in Florida. No idea what the tax rate is in NJ/NY or KS but I’m positive when tens of millions a year are involved it adds up.
