I don't get the Mahomes hate, either, outside then normal rivalry stuff. I watched the Quarterback doc on Netflix, and that's where I get my Mrs Mahomes hatred. 100% not a gold-digger, but total attention whore/drama queen.

If somehow the universe conspires to allow the pathetic fricking lions to win a SB before the Vikings (or Bills) I may jump off a goddamn bridge. 😇

This.  I’ve watched Tampa Bay win multiple Super Bowls and even the Saints.

i don’t think I could handle the Lions making it to the Super Biwl before the Vikings

I had a similar post on fb. If Lions make the SB and win, would just add to the misery of Vikings and Bills fans.
Prior today, I think lots of neutral fans wanted a Lions/Bills SB. As a Vikings fan, I think back-to-back SB’s with the Vikings/Bills. Vikings winning the first and Bills winning the second would be fitting.

Those terms would be acceptable, given MN got to the SB before BUF. Although, I would have to then get a Vikings logo tattoo, due to a bet with @Armadillo, IF neither team had won the SB prior...

Being tatt’ed up as well. I’ve made bets or even deals over getting a tatt. Most people get scared and don’t want to go down that road, especially if they don’t have any.

I see the Ravens winning the Super Bowl, their QB Lamar Jackson is really intelligent, he negotiated his contracts with out a agent, I do not remember any player doing this

I do think that Buffalo fans and Vikings fans share a lot of the same pain, they can at least claim two AFL Titles prior to the Super Bowl era. I get it that's a long time ago, but still.  There is no team like Minnesota in the NFL, one of the winningest teams post merger, we are the outlier, the only team to never have a losing streak in the post merger era of more than 2 seasons.  They just completely defy all logic, game theory, and convention.  I was pulling for Buffalo, if not for any other reason than to see someone other than the Chiefs in the next round.

I would like to see a Secret Base documentary about all of Buffalo's history as I think it would be as compelling as the deep, deep dive they did on Minnesota earlier this year.  They do an excellent job as far as YouTube Documentaries go. If you are interested here is the link.

Perhaps I'm not on SM enough or there's some type of entertainment news bubble I reside behind, but I have no idea why anyone would hate on Mahomes' wife, but I couldn't pull her out of a lineup so that might be part of it.

With regard to Mahomes himself to me is a very likeable guy aside from the fact when I do stream NFL games every other commercial has him or Manning in it. But he's not drinking baby's blood so I just don't get the hate.  Aaron Rogers?  I get it. Patrick Mahomes? I don't.

Watch the Netflix series Quarterback. To use a southern term, God bless her for being Mahomes' HS sweetheart (hence not a gold digger), but she is a drama queen attention whore. (it's a good series to watch, though).

I did watch the series and I dunno - maybe I'm not that particular. But even if I did agree with your take on her it doesn't impact my opinion of him. I recall people hating on Kurt Warner's wife back in the day and I had a similar reaction.

To use another southern term, she’s White Trash.  My biggest objection to both of them in Quarterback was their constant swearing in front of their kids.  😂 and I’m aware that makes me sound really old!  But wow, it was not a good look.

If I recall, Pat M said after watching that, he didn't realize he swore that much. As for Brittney, I was being as polite as I could. 😉
Modern parents, they're different. They cuss in front of their kids, but they also teach them the appropriateness of such language and that is adult language. As much as I cuss, I won't do it in front of kids. I do slip up from time to time, but I get all red-faced and such.

I just really, really disliked the way Mahomes carried himself that series, mainly on the field.  The constant childish trash talk, taunting, running his mouth at the other team and then immediately turning to the refs looking for a flag as soon as he gets hit a little harder than he would've liked.  It got real old real fast.  That and the constant needing to psyche each other up as NFL players... that is likely part of every NCAA and NFL team, but seems so PeeWee level to me.  Running up and down the sidelines in front of your teammates "they can't guard us, they can't guard us" like you are the hype man for the team.  It just isn't my cup of tea.  This type of behavior and attitude has crept its way into other levels of other sports as well.  Then kids see this type of behavior glorified on TV and social media and then want to emulate it when they go out and play.

Obviously if Baltimore ends up winning that stop will be a huge reason why.

The Chiefs defense with the stripe sack turnover deep in the Ravens territory gave their offense a chance with the short field to increase the lead to 21-7 but the Ravens defense after giving up two long TD drives on the Chiefs first two possessions is able to get a huge stop even with the short field on the Chiefs 3rd possession.

Apparently catching a ball that gets batted in the air is “god given instincts”

Player gets obviously poked in the eye “you can see his ankle get twisted” ah….nope

KC gets stopped on 4th and 1 from the BAL 10 yard line, “that’s a huge stop for BAL”…yah think?!?!

“The ball is even more important in games like these” what?

I’m not saying anything new he’s been getting destroyed on Twitter for the whole year. Getting paid 17 mil for saying things that are extremely obvious or obviously not true isn’t “knowing the game”

Announcers in many sports do this like in hockey when they say the next goal is huge when it is a one goal game in the 3rd period. Wait so it is a huge difference between a two goal game and a tie game in the 3rd period? 🤔 No $hit Sherlock. 😀

I get why some people get annoyed by him and I personally don't care either way but if we are being honest announcers very rarely say things that we don't already know.

I find them to be useful mainly in the sense of telling you what is happening when you are multi tasking and not watching every play closely. They allow you to know what is happening without having your eyes watching every play.

Plus they are obviously VERY helpful for people with sight impairment.

People always try to destroy sports announcers on social media before social media. People think they know more than they really do. So I wouldn’t be using social medial warriors as my sources.

Well that’s only a small part of it but you stick with arguing against something that is obviously known. I really meant more that all of the criticism from many other sources is on Twitter. It’s so bad that supposedly CBS had an “intervention” with him to be better but he has a contract for another 6 years so he doesn’t really need to. He’s currently getting ripped for his love affair with Mahomes. Saying “oh that’s just Twitter” doesn’t make it any less true.

Sneed punches the ball out a foot from the goal line with the Chiefs recovering in the end zone as oppose to the one yard line which is big getting the touch back rather than starting at the one.

The Ravens are making too many mistakes (especially penalties and turnovers).

It looks like we are about to have another Chiefs Super Bowl.

Flowers was called for taunting Sneed. Sneed is constantly trash talking with guys on every team. It is his style of play and in the case he got a rookie to take it too far and get a penalty.

The Ravens have four 15 yard personal fall/unsportsmen like penalties. There have been a bunch of Ravens players who have done things that are really hurting their team.

Chiefs D was just better today which is kinda crazy, the ravens D had a great second half and are probably the best in the league. I think Reid play calling was better first half too.

Turnovers and penalties were the story of the game.

Both defenses played well.

That pretty much put the nail in the coffin. The NFL is drooling over Swift being at the SB. How many Swifties would never watch are now going to watch.

This sounds like the kind of take that I would read about all over social media

Do you get your opinions off social media like @bigbeer does?!?!?!

If you’re asking Meatloaf, he won’t do that…

I just checked. Her last show is Saturday night in Tokyo. With the flights and time difference, she can easily make it back by Sunday morning. She will be there.

Kyle Hamilton the safety that a lot of Vikings fans are pissed about the Vikings not drafting gave up a TD earlier in the game and that long game clinching pass.

He had a good season but the Chiefs took advantage of him today.

Kelce 11 catches, 116 yards and a TD.

Hamilton couldn't even slow down Kelce.
