We should know by September 1st what he decides? ?
I still say he remains in GB. Why the hell would you want to go to the Jets and play in that division? You have a trash Bears and Lions team here in the NFC North.
The Jets clearly want Erin more than the Packers do so I can see that being a factor.
The bears yes, the Lions were a decent team last year despite a horrible start (record wise there were a lot of close games in there). That said this is still the easier division I agree with that.I still say he remains in GB. Why the hell would you want to go to the Jets and play in that division? There's been rumors that ARodg would be the backup if he stayed in GB. He's getting paid either way, so if those rumors are true, go to NY and actually play.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

No joke. They are ready to move on, as shown by this whole Jets deal.

Nah, this is very much believable. The main issue is they could lose Love for nothing after this season and nobody in the org would ever admit that drafting him during a MVP caliber season from the other guy was a mistake, so here we are. I have my doubts on Love but they’ve backed themselves into a corner. There's been rumors that ARodg would be the backup if he stayed in GB

And if Love sucks, hey, we have ARodg if the Jets deal doesn't go through.

The irony of Rodgers getting Rodgered. At least the weather is nicer in NY slightly. And, you know, it’s NY.
Jets are not a NY team. Buffalo is the only NY team. 😉
Jets play in NJ.

The Packers clearly want to trade Rodgers so the main question is Rodgers willing to play for the Jets (who clearly want him) or is there another team he would rather play for that is willing to trade for him and that the Packers are willing to trade him to. The Packers likely would prefer to trade him to the AFC so it is a question of who is going to blink first.
The Packers don't need Rodgers permission to trade him but no team is going to finalize a trade for him until they know Erin is willing to play for them.
Bottom line is if Rodgers doesn't want to retire he should be looking to get trade (why would he want to stay with a team that clearly wants to trade him) in which case it is just a matter of which team works for all parties.
If the trade with the Jets ends up going through the Jets better hope this season is a good one for them since after the season Rodgers is going to ask to be released and then sign with the Vikings. I've seen this movie before. ?

Play for, etc, but paying him. Who will be on the hook for that, in the terms of the deal. That's a BIG issue, also.

Yea, let’s be clear that regardless of the stadium address, the players all live and do their thing in NY. That’s the point.
How could such an insufferable, ego-maniacal drama queen resist playing near NYC on the site of a former landfill? Sounds like a perfect fit.

Per Yahoo. Rodgers just needs to give the OK and he is a Jet
I thought Jalen Ramsey was going to join the NHL.

Pro Football Network's Trey Wingo reports Aaron Rodgers being traded to the Jets "is done."
Wingo has been dialed in on the Rodgers situation in New York since the offseason got underway. Though nothing is official, we'll bet on Wingo having the scoop once again. Barring a last-second change of heart, Rodgers will be a Jet soon, possibly even by the end of the day. With a return to Green Bay unlikely and the Raiders signing Jimmy Garoppolo earlier today, Rodgers landing in New York was all but inevitable. Coming off a down year in 2022, it's certainly a risk to bring Rodgers on this late in his career. However, the alternative would be to stick with Zach Wilson. Given Wilson's struggles, New York had to make a move, and now they'll be a strong contender to dethrone the Chiefs in the AFC.

? ? ? ?
They'll be lucky to compete with Buffalo for the AFC East title.

MIA is still competitive, and if you think NE will lay somewhat dormant for long...

Uh-oh...the Bills have options now:
The Bills have restructured the contracts of QB Josh Allen and OLB Von Miller, creating approximately $32M in salary cap space, per source.

The Bears are getting after it.
- WR DJ Moore (Carolina)
- LB TJ Edwards (Philly)
- OL Nate Davis (TN)
- LB Tremaine Edmunds Buffalo)
All positions need and pretty good gets. We will see if it impacts the product on the field.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Does Rodgers want the Jets to sign all this former veteran receivers?
ESPN's Dianna Russinni reports Aaron Rodgers "has provided the NY Jets with a wish-list of free agents" that includes Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis, and Odell Beckham.
It's unclear how many former Packers need to be on the Jets' roster before he accepts a trade to New York, but the answer is seemingly more than one. A previous report has the Jets actively trying to sign Lazard while another pegged New York as one of two potential landing spots for Lewis. Odell Beckham, on the other hand, could turn out to be a serviceable second receiver for them. Rodgers is making full use of his leverage in this situation, forcing the Jets GM Joe Douglas to bend the knee if he wants to land the four-time MVP. Given how desperate the Jets must be to replace Zach Wilson, it looks like Douglas will be meeting at least some of Rodgers' demands as the two sides barrel toward a trade agreement.

Rodgers giving the Jets a to-do list for free agency while he’s still a Packer seems exactly right. Why does any team wanna deal with this dude? I’ll bet once the trade is finalized we’re gonna hear some horror stories and about just how glad GB is to have moved on.
Marcedes Lewis?! Really?! Now I really want AR to stay in GB and be a pain in the arse.

This is clearly a conflict of interest. The league should be investing. ?
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday, Aaron Rodgers said his intention is "to play and play for the New York Jets."
After first explaining where babies come from and then getting into the known history of the early universe, Rodgers finally stated his intentions. He said the holdup is compensation talks between the Jets and Packers, and that it is out of his hands at this point. That part is clearly true. Rodgers also claimed he was "90 percent" leaning toward retirement before his now-infamous darkness retreat, but that he was jolted into wanting to return after emerging and finding the Packers wanted to trade him. Sure, whatever. The takeaway is that Rodgers wants to play in 2023 and the only team that currently wants him is the New York Jets. It is going to happen soon rather than later.
The fact that the Jets are putting up with this is why they will always be a joke of a franchise. Good lord tell him to get bent and tell the Packers to eat a bag of dicks. Offer a 3rd round pick and watch their heads explode.
I mentioned on the Twitter, ARodg is acting like the Judge's son in Caddyshack. "I want a hot dog, a hamburger..."

Agreed. Give them bare minimum let them eat that decision. They have zero leverage as it would be a clown show if they didn’t trade him.The fact that the Jets are putting up with this is why they will always be a joke of a franchise. And as Bareiro discussed this afternoon I’ll enjoy watching Erin play in another number since 12 was Broadway Joe’s jersey number. Ego check.

I’m guessing it’s not the compensation it’s who pays what % of his contract thus the standoff. GB has no leverage cause they obviously can’t have the deal fall thru but the Jets can’t really either cause most of the other available QBs have signed. Their other option would be Jackson which I would be poking around there if I was them. Offer him 3 year 150 mostly guaranteed and give up the 2 #1s. I say that not being a huge Jackson fan due to his injury issues.
I think Jackson is overrated but he fits The Jets more than Erin. Plus he is younger and not a complete dbag.
They are going to mortgage their future for Erin who will likely retire without taking them anywhere of value.
Jets? Haven't heard much noise on Lamar, so toss him $100MM, 3 years (maybe 2, due to injury), fully guaranteed, and see what that gets ya.

Armchair QBs (aka social media) is thinking 3 years, 24MM, around 10MM guaranteed. PURE speculation, given the market right now.
