Guerin soon coming to a realization.
No Wild? I'll cheer for anyone playing Dallas, Colorado, or Vegas.
Oh crap, forgot we were playing tonight. Just checked the score on the app.
No need to turn the tv on for this one. Yikes.
Got a kick out of Hartman trying to teach Dubois how to start a lawnmower
For next season, Guerin will again need to find more cast-offs and pray for a healthy line-up. That's not a great strategy.
Fan support might die off if they can't improve because there isn't much fan interest past the first line.
What do people expect him to do with the Parise and Suter salary cap deficit? He still has to keep as many of his star players as possible so the team isn't total shit in 2025. We all have to suffer through one more season and then hopefully, with the extra cap room, the team can make the next step. For next season, Guerin will again need to find more cast-offs and pray for a healthy line-up. Hopefully this Cutshisnutsoff guy is great and also a reason for Komrad Kaprisov to stay put.
I would expect him to build a team geared towards being great once those cap penalties are gone. I wonder if any of that is on the owners pressuring him that they're not looking for a rebuild. imho at the end of '21 or '22 that should have been their mentality.

trading players like Spurgeon, Foligno, Zuccarello, and probably Brodin to maximize their value to your team, instead of getting caught with aging players that aren't worth their caphits. Prioritize the younger players who might still be of value once your team is able to try and compete. I’ve always enjoyed the armchair GMs trying to budget a pro team when they probably struggle to budget their own life’s of less than $200k.
Keep your stick on the ice...

And who was this best player? Suter? That’s a stretch.
The only person who thought Suter was the best player on the Wild was Suter

He might be referring to Fiala who is completely overrated, and still doesn't invalidate my question.
Faber>>>>Fiala
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
And then we blow it in OT. With Faber in the box. :/
Faber needs to be smarter at the end of regulation. Appreciate his willingness to jump in to help/defend a teammate but he needs better situational awareness.

Someone needs to tell Wes Walz and Tony the Pony that the Wild lost today. Getting close on a shot in OT is not a win...

At least there was a reason he wasn’t on the ice in OT?
It's probably fitting that goaltending delivered the final dagger to their season.
Without Brodin, Erik Ek, it’s all on KK & Boldy & Faber to carry team, and they did yesterday, along with Rossi. But in the end, not enough & not a great performance by Fleury either…Coming close, short but no cigar…has been the story of this team in 23-24.It's probably fitting that goaltending delivered the final dagger to their season.
They had no business making the playoffs tbh and honestly I'd rather see them miss than get swept.
I've been on the side of being ok with them losing a few more games this year to drop into a better draft position. The only thing getting into the wild card does is put some cash in the owners pocket, and does not do anything to help the long term health of the team. I would prefer that they bring up the goalie from Iowa and give him a few games.

I agree. The string of "Barely make the playoffs then get bounced" turns into a feedback loop. Not really any success to celebrate, but finishing too high to get a decent draft pick to actually improve the team with.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
The Minnesota way, middle of the pack.
Missing the playoffs by a spot or two or just getting in isn't going to do anything significant for their drafting.
This is true, it's why I was agreeing with Frozen4Champs on losing a few more games to get so that it wasn't just the first team out or something similar.Missing the playoffs by a spot or two or just getting in isn't going to do anything significant for their drafting.

How has the new Russian kid been playing? Could he be a factor next year? Or better yet, in two years when the Wild have salary cap back.

Too bad it couldn’t be a lifetime suspension.
This is too funny. Yet they have guys injuring players intentionally that get less? Can think of a few times Kaprizov has been targeted with no penalties or suspensions for the opposing player.
Hartman should be fined but a 3 game suspension is downright silly.
Yeah I think the suspension relative to actual dangerous acts receiving even less punishment is a joke. He was stupid but 3 game stupid?
How many games did Eichel get for spearing one of the best players in the world?
I have no issue with the the three games for Hartman. The rule is clear and it was applied. In fact, he got the minimum even though he is a repeat offender. The joke is that the DOPS does little to nothing to prevent dangerous plays. Perhaps they should pick a former Lady Bing winner instead of a career goon for the director’s job.Yeah I think the suspension relative to actual dangerous acts receiving even less punishment is a joke. The narrative says "throwing equipment is dangerous". How about spearing, cross checking, or tackling Kaprizov? If throwing a stick 5 feet from a ref is 3 games, you'd think spearing with actual contact would be at least 15.

That was my point. If throwing a stick that came nowhere close to hitting someone is worthy of 3 games why do so many dangerous plays not get at least double that?
Wild scramble at end of Wild game with 8 seconds to go! Faber sticks up for Brodin after Brady T. was abusing Brodin, Faber throws several punches (bombs) aimed at Brady..,love it, the kid is growing up & not taking any crap!
I'm thinking Faber gets cold beer and warm welcome as he enters the room after the game.

Watch Brodin get a suspension for "spearing" when Eichel got nothing for SPEARING...
The 2nd video has the players reactions...

The refs receive more protection then players do.
Dangerous plays amongst players is the old "Boys will be boys" which is BS but the player's union seems to be more worried about protecting player's pay checks (limiting suspensions) then the player's health.
I get that +/- isn't the end-all be-all of stats, but... -38 in 61 games? Ouch.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
We all know who should win, and we all know who will. Make your peace with it now.
Lost in all of it is Rossi putting together a solid attempt at it too.

Great point. He has been overshadowed and quietly had a great rookie campaign.
Very true. I'd be very pleasantly surprised for Bedard to not win, but, with those number... wow. Faber contributing 57% of the PPG as Bedard... as a defenseman, with +2 vs -38.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
I think Faber had a legit chance halfway through the season. His game has taken a step back then last couple of months and his scoring has gone away.
Bedard has been awful, but he puts up points and makes exciting plays.
